Bible Study Is infant baptism from the Bible?

A child can be sanctified...I've taught our faith to children and I have witnessed this first-hand. However, it is highly unlikely because they don't really understand about God yet.

I'm not so sure I agree with your premise that children don't really understand about God at a young age. My son and his wife do not believe and yet when I mentioned God to my grandson, when he was only about four, I learned he had knowledge of God. I have no idea where he got it from because I know it wasn't from his parents.

Now he is 10 and my beliefs are in stark contrast to my son's so my grandson is getting confused. This past week he spent three days at my house over MEA week. At one point after we prayed before our meal, he commented that he "chose to not believe" and I asked him why. He began to speak about how the universe was formed by molecules coming together to form higher substances and eventually planets and so forth. That was definitely his father, my son the scientist, speaking. I just calmly replied, "Where do you think all those molecules came from?"

There's a priest down in Rome that specializes in possession,
and all those persons have been baptized, but I don't know if they're believers.

You need both belief and baptism.
I believe this is what Jesus taught.

In addition, believe in that culture and time, carried the idea of obeying and commitment.


And having been perfected, He became the author of eternal salvation to all who obey Him, Hebrews 5:9

Those Christians who live in rebellion to His commandments and doctrine, open the door for the enemy to have access to deceive them and control them.

Amen, my grandson was baptized with the Holy Spirit at the age of four.

It depends, on each individual.


The Spirit of God is dealing with this generation of young people today, in a mighty way.


Satan also is desperate to capture the minds of children as well.

I guess what I'm getting at is, I don't believe in infant baptism so I didn't have any of our 3 kids baptized or christened and now I worry if I left my kids spiritually unprotected.......

All you can do is give them over to God and pray that He will do a work of coviction in them. None of this is your fault as we can't be responsible for what another adult does even if you did or didn't have them baptized when they were babies. Just love them from a distance and keep praying as we will continue to pray.

WIP, I didn't say they don't know God,,,
I said they don't know ABOUT God....

Or is it the opposite?

What I mean is that they know God exists but they know nothing about Him or His ways. They don't even know what sin is. Unfortunately most parents are not like the ones on this forum and they do not impart any beliefs to their children.

I'll also say that some kids are atheist by the time of 10 or 11 years old. This is because they learn about the universe and the big bang in school and they learn to trust science instead of God.

You gave your grandson the correct answer...I'd ask this same question when my catechism kids would tell me the big bang created everything. They went to gases...I asked what created the gases...etc.

They're fortunate to have you for a grandpa...this I'm sure of.
Our kids need all the reinforcement they could possibly get.
Kids are born with a heart shaped hole in them that only God can fill. Kids that believe in God are happier kids.
