Bible Study is it normal to preach the gospel in the street? what are the benefits and consequences?

I think so, it is normal to preach in the street because Jesus did it himself. it reveals that benefits, because in doing so, the hearts are touched by the message either immediately or later, a seed that is sown, will yield harvest.

Only if the seed is sown in good soil.... Otherwise it is wasted seed. And the Lord hates wasted seed. "Be ye led of the Spirit, He will direct you to the good soil!

I believe preaching in the street is fine....
Mar_6:11 And whosoever shall not receive you, nor hear you, when ye depart thence, shake off the dust under your feet for a testimony against them. Verily I say unto you, It shall be more tolerable for Sodom and Gomorrha in the day of judgment, than for that city.

I was addressing this part of the statement, only! Mark 4: 14 The sower soweth the word.
15 And these are they by the way side, where the word is sown; and when they have heard, straightway cometh Satan, and taketh away the word which hath been sown in them.
16 And these in like manner are they that are sown upon the rocky places , who, when they have heard the word, straightway receive it with joy;
17 and they have no root in themselves, but endure for a while; then, when tribulation or persecution ariseth because of the word, straightway they stumble.
18 And others are they that are sown among the thorns; these are they that have heard the word,
19 and the cares of the world, and the deceitfulness of riches, and the lusts of other things entering in, choke the word, and it becometh unfruitful.
20 And those are they that were sown upon the good ground; such as hear the word, and accept it, and bear fruit, thirtyfold, and sixtyfold, and a hundredfold.

I don't have a problem with, but I doubt it would be very effective, especially as hostility towards Christ and Christians continues to grow.

Isaiah 60: 2 For, behold, darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the peoples; but Jehovah will arise upon thee, and his glory shall be seen upon thee.

It is getting darker and darker!

I would say it depends on how it is done. I knew a co-worker who was doing this. His approach was to
start preaching to one person and his voice was loud enough for anyone within 10 feet to hear what he was preaching. That was not to bad the bad part is he would pick a person stand in there face never give a chance for the person to ask anything or to say A word for 5 or 10 minutes while he kept preaching and there was not a second between the words. he did this to me once in a public place and I did not like it.
It made me feel singled out among the people that slowed to see and hear what was happening. he did not preach to a crowd that gathered t was one person even though many could see he had singled out me in this case.

Right! And they get the government they deserve! Same as Israel Got their king (Saul) when the Lord had David in the wings.

Hi Kodjoo and welcome to CF :wave2

Street ministry is all well and good as long as you are led of the Holy Spirit to guide you. The biggest thing is follow through as when Jesus walked and taught He didn't just leave when He was done speaking, but interacted with the people helping them with their needs. You can't just hand out a tract and say God bless you, you need to follow through by letting the people know you care and want to help them and direct them to the Churches in the area that they could attend and receive the help they need Spiritually and physically.

Do you mean like Jesus,(Matthews chapters 4-7) John the Baptist,(Matt. 3:1-2) The Disciples (Acts 2:14-40) and Paul and Stephen (Acts 6:8-8:1) ?

"Direct them to the churches?" They are the most dangerous places to send them. Most churches are not spiritual at all.......

The one who is doing the preaching also needs to check out the churches in the area first to find one that is led of the Holy Spirit or check to see if there are any home Bible study groups that one could attend. You can't just say God bless you and then walk away as you need to be committed to those who might come to Christ by seeing the light of Christ shine through you. The commitment is to help them find a place to fellowship and grow in the word of God.

If most churches are dangerous, where would you send them...to your place?

I believe you did not fully listen to the below quote.

Amen... Sheep that beget sheep must look after them and see they are nourished in the faith.

It has been reported that of the many that had gone forward at Billy Grahams crusades, and steered to the many churches, that one year later less than one% were still in attendance in a church...

good point about Billy Graham's crusades. To be fair, though, the Calvinist in me wants to argue that lots of people make false conversions, if you put on the right music, say the right words, etc., but only the truly Elect will genuinely, truly respond to Scripture and be transformed. So...if that's the case, its really not Billy Graham's "fault" or what have you.

Jesus performed miracles before them, and theystill would not believe?
Yes, but nevertheless, They all preached out in the street or hills or by the waters. It is not that the religious did not believe, They did not want to give up their praises and high positions of the flesh. The common working Jew had no problem believing Jesus, but many of them were chastised by the Priest. (John 3:1-2) (John 12:42-44)

LOL
You're right.
But there was no TV back then...
Or radio
Or books
Or magazines
Or computers
etc.
