Please consider with me:
You know the verse that says "the letter kills but the Spirit gives life". What if the words spoken directly to us by the Spirit are the "Life"? Jesus said, "The Words I have spoken to you are Spirit and they are Life". What if He was speaking not only of the words written in the Bible which come to Life as we read them, but also of every word that He speaks to us, in our ears and hearts, here and now?
If we really are, as He says we are, all these: holy, sanctified, righteous, reconciled to God, cleansed from sin, transferred from darkness into His kingdom of Light, made a new creation, filled with the Holy Ghost, empowered by the Spirit of God and of Jesus, co-heirs with Jesus, seated with Him in the heavenlies, having the mind of Christ....we could go on and on filling in the blanks...then are we not like the "holy men of God", 2 Peter 1:21, speaking as we are "moved by the Holy Spirit"? ("Moved" has to mean first they heard and then were "moved" to speak.)
Let me take this one step further: If we are "moved to speak by the Spirit", and I don't mean word for word repeating of verses necessarily, then are we not part of those Peter is speaking of? Those who HAD no Scripture as we think of it? Certainly no New Testament scripture.
WE, you and I, hearing from God and being moved to speak by the Spirit are we not speaking "scripture" also?
Ok, I'm going to take it to the limits of where I'm getting light now: What if the Bible, as we know it, is not the end of God's revealing of His plans and purposes as so many preach, infallible as it is but only the "springboard" for even more revelation of God's eternal Light? Even Paul admitted God's "riches of wisdom and knowledge" of Himself were "unsearchable" (Rom 11:33).
I'm daring myself right now. What if not every word in the Bible as we know it was spoken by inspiration of God? Even Paul says he "spoke as a man" in two written scriptures (Rom 3:5 and 6:19), and twice he said "I speak not by commandment" and "I speak not after the Lord (2 Cor 8:8 and 11:17).
2 Tim 3:16: All scripture [is] given by inspiration of God, and [is] profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness. Question is, what is Scripture? Definition: What is spoken by God. What difference is there then from what we hear in our ears, the Word Himself speaking to us, either from "hearing the Word" from the Bible or directly to us, and what is written in what we call Scripture?
What if the unveiling of the "riches of the wisdom and knowledge" of God is being built upon IN US by our gaining of Light, starting with what we call Scripture and leading us to ever more Light? I ask myself, "Can this one Book hold all that God is, says and does? All His purposes and plans for man? All His thoughts?" The answer has to be NO.
Members, I'm waiting impatiently to see what you will say about this! The words are inadequate for the Light shown but I pray that the Lord will give YOU much light on this.
May His richest blessings be on those who are in His family!
