Well, what are you supposed to do if the doctor recommends you a certain diet and then, if you refuse to follow it, he refuses to see you anymore and tells you that you're on your own?
Then you find a different doctor. Me and my doctor have bumped heads a few times. It's always the younger stupid doctors that try to run you over with their education, ha!
The entire health industry operates on feedback from the patient. This hurts, that's sore, I'm sick, I'm...whatever. You the patient give them the information and they respond to that and suggest a solution. Then followup, feedback, did it work, do you like? blah blah blah and go from there.
Any doctor not willing to listen to you should be fired. I told one doctor, I am the patient. I live with the condition 24/7. While I respect your education you can't come in here and read my chart for three minutes and think you know more about me than I do. That's wrong and not how it's supposed to work. That young docor got up and left in a huff. This happened to happen in front of an older doctor and about 5 med students. Interns or whatever. Everybody laughed when I said that to the guy. After he left the older doctor told me I was exactly right.
Don't let them doctors run you over.
What is the good old way? What did people do before hospitals were invented? Oh, that's right, they went to the church.
