hi. My mom has fallen ill :-(

My dad says it seems like strep throat. Ugh. Please pray it isn't too serious. In a weird way...maybe this is wrong...but I'm kinda glad she's going to be forced to slow down and take a couple days off. I mean, I know its good to be dedicated to your work, but...man oh man! But...in the meantime, please pray that God sees fit to touch her and/or work through the doctors (I HOPE she's going to the family doc tomorrow...docs around here are often over-scheduled, so we'll see...) so she can be up and running at 100% after a lil while.

And, as always...pray for me, please. I'm making progress in my school (I'm blessed to be there) and also (I think) in my walk w/ The Lord. It certainly helps to have my raw intelligence back (this is apparently part of "recovery from treatment..." who knew?) and also to have my mental...affliction...well-managed w/ appropriate meds and easy breezy counseling. I feel as if...well, I feel as if the meds are helping me get to where I need to be in my faith. I'm not saying everybody should pop an Rx miracle pill to get closer to The Lord, but I think that if you have severe problems, the meds can make you lucid enough to really "get it." That's where I'm at, or where I'm getting...I'm starting to "get it" much, much better.

Thanks. :-)

Praying for you and your family Brother CE. And yes, I think at times
our loving Father knows exactly how to slow us down. :sick

If you can make half peroxide and half warm water for a gargle it will.
Praying.

Praying , hoping for the best...

Good news! My mama is doing a whole lot better. Its crazy...she even sanitized all her bedding and clothes (!!!). That's intense.

Anyway, she says she's good enough to go into work tomorrow, and if anything bad pops up, she'll go to Urgent Care (less wait time than their family doctor). I'm glad she's feeling better. We even had a little convo downstairs, and she said "love you, goodnight." :-)

I pray she stays well. She's going to a conference in the lowcountry over the weekend, so...yeah...I hope and pray she's up and running at 100% for that.

Thanks for your prayers (as always). :-)

Thanks for all of the prayers. Now I'm kinda nervous about the upcoming conference. My dad's tagging along (its a very pretty part of the state), so I'm house sitting for the weekend. I know, I'm a grown up, but the neighbors just love hassling me. I'm pretty sure some of them have been in the yard, messing with me before. Maybe I'll sleep upstairs.

Please do keep praying. My mom is much better, but she's so dedicated to her work that I think she could easily overdo it. Thanks again. :-)

Thanks, air dancer (and everybody else, of course). My mama seems good today...her voice was a little off, but that happens.

Since conferences have a way of tiring people, perhaps you could have a pot of chicken soup or - my family's 'comfort' food: chicken & dumplings.

I boil - in a big pot - 2 or 3 chicken thighs, cut into bite-size pieces off the bone.... chopped onion.... spices. The dumplings are easy to make: flour, baking powder, Crisco, milk. When the chicken & broth are ready, spoon the dumpling mixture into the pot ... cook without lid for 10 minutes.... continue cooking for another 10 minutes with lid on.

Cut carrots, celery, potatoes ... your favorites can be included in the soup. It's all yummy!

now that, my friend, is a plan. I'm new to cooking, so I'll check some recipe database sit for exact directions.

:-)
