Usually I don't have to deal with these guys but since its close to communion time which they do at the same time we celebrate easter.I might have to do some tangoing with them. im not going to convert for sure but one thing they are good at is arguing. I know their arguments, I was one, my wife wasn't. they believe only 144,000 can partake in the bread and the blood. its strange but that is what they teach.

I guess I might ask them if they are still bound to the old covenant or do they serve in the Kingdom of Christ? After all, the 144,000 were all of the tribes of Israel under the old covenant of Law, and the 144,000 were sealed with the Father's name written on their foreheads. But in the Kingdom of Christ under the new covenant, we are given a new name.

spiritualized it.

They're hard to shake. One lady was visiting me weekly until my mom was like...he's mentally ill and churched (little white lie there, lol). I guess you gotta be firm with them? I hear its hard to argue Scripture with them. You may just want to point out that we use different Bibles and have different beliefs, and...that's that, you know? I dunno man...it doesn't help that they tend to be so polite and friendly and such. I always felt guilty giving them a NO.

I don't. a polite no will suffice. I was one. I have been on both ends. they believe the 144,000 were Christians as they define the term after the "stake" that included the original 11, paul and those followers. they believe that once the 144,000 are called out , the Lord will return to reign and judge the earth. I would have to read up on their literature to be exact as that is by memory and they have changed some things. they don't take the mentioning of revalation in literally as the 144k Hebrews must be males. virgins and never lie and from a tribe.

If you talk to them use a King James bible, I've heard they have a different version, one that says..

John 1:1In the beginning the Word was, and the Word was with God, and the Word was a god.

They don't know that Jesus is the I AM in Exodus..

And over the years their leaders have proclaimed who these 144,000 are, by name, and have declared the number to be full. This site has the history of the Watch Tower, that began with Russell.
There is another site that is a better site, I think, that has much of the same information but I can't find it now.

That's true, I used to have a copy of their bible. It had a green cover back then.

Tell then you speak in tongues :)

I am old enough to remember when they argued ... when there numbers reached 144000 the would be in heaven

Don't know too much about them, I usually don't answer the door, lol.
But as regarding, the 144 thousand, there sure are a lot more saved than that!
Israel, whom is Israel?
12 tribes, Judah is just one.
They are all over the world, some don't even know who they are, their ancestors might had come from one.
I do know, lol, that my husband was circumcised and my son.
Is this just traditions passed on?
Regardless, there is neither Jew, Greek, we are from Abraham's seed and heirs to the promise, in Christ.

No, it's not traditions passed on, at least not in Christianity.
1Co 7:18 Is any man called being circumcised? let him not become uncircumcised. Is any called in uncircumcision? let him not be circumcised.
However, there are good reasons to be circumcised that are not theological in nature. So doctors advise it.

Is it true they don't believe we have spirits?

What encompasses their communion season?
From what I have read, maybe out of the whole assembly only a couple are allowed to receive it. Maybe the rest are just there to worship those few. :eek2 I've never felt comfortable asking them what they do because I don't know that I could respond correctly.

They only take communion once a year? What would constitute a person being allowed to participate in communion?

As far as the O.P
I see nothing wrong with communion at this time.
I believe it is better to do that than hunt for Easter eggs, Easter is a pagan holiday.
Derives from the goddess Ishtar, the fertility goddess.
Quick as a bunny :hysterical

Don't feel bad. They feel good that just having right doctrine and knocking door to door earns them salvation.

"Watch your life and doctrine closely. Persevere in them, because if you do, you will save both yourself and your hearers." (1 Timothy 4:16 NIV)

Persecution just adds to their sense of righteousness.
