Bible Study JESUS OUR EXAMPLE and the APOSTLES OBEYED GOD'S LAW and the SABBATH!

http://www.jewfaq.org/10.htm

Here is a little unknown fact that many do not know.

There are 613 mitzvot (commandments) given by God, but what about the so-called "Ten Commandments," the words recorded in Exodus 20, the words that the Creator Himself wrote on the two stone tablets that Moses brought down from Mount Sinai (Ex. 31:18), which Moses smashed upon seeing the idolatry of the golden calf (Ex. 32:19)? In the Torah, these words are never referred to as the Ten Commandments. In the Torah, they are called Aseret ha-D'varim (Ex. 34:28, Deut. 4:13 and Deut. 10:4). In rabbinical texts, they are referred to as Aseret ha-Dibrot. The words d'varim and dibrot come from the Hebrew root Dalet-Beit-Reish, meaning word, speak or thing; thus, the phrase is accurately translated as the Ten Sayings, the Ten Statements, the Ten Declarations, the Ten Words or even the Ten Things, but not as the Ten Commandments, which would be Aseret ha-Mitzvot.

The Aseret ha-Dibrot are not understood as individual mitzvot; rather, they are categories or classifications of mitzvot. Each of the 613 mitzvot can be subsumed under one of these ten categories, some in more obvious ways than others. For example, the mitzvah not to work on Shabbat rather obviously falls within the category of remembering the Sabbath day and keeping it holy. The mitzvah to fast on Yom Kippur fits into that category somewhat less obviously: all holidays are in some sense a Sabbath, and the category encompasses any mitzvah related to sacred time. The mitzvah not to stand aside while a person's life is in danger fits somewhat obviously into the category against murder. It is not particularly obvious, however, that the mitzvah not to embarrass a person fits within the category against murder: it causes the blood to drain from your face thereby shedding blood.

List of the Aseret ha-Dibrot

According to Judaism, the Aseret ha-Dibrot identify the following ten categories of mitzvot. Other religions divide this passage differently. See The "Ten Commandments" Controversy below. Please remember that these are categories of the 613 mitzvot, which according to Jewish tradition are binding only upon Jews. The only mitzvot binding upon gentiles are the seven Noahic commandments.

1. Belief in G-d

This category is derived from the declaration in Ex. 20:2 beginning, "I am the L-rd, your G-d..."

2. Prohibition of Improper Worship

This category is derived from Ex. 20:3-6, beginning, "You shall not have other gods..." It encompasses within it the prohibition against the worship of other gods as well as the prohibition of improper forms of worship of the one true G-d, such as worshiping G-d through an idol.

3. Prohibition of Oaths

This category is derived from Ex. 20:7, beginning, "You shall not take the name of the L-rd your G-d in vain..." This includes prohibitions against perjury, breaking or delaying the performance of vows or promises, and speaking G-d's name or swearing unnecessarily.

4. Observance of Sacred Times

This category is derived from Ex. 20:8-11, beginning, "Remember the Sabbath day..." It encompasses all mitzvot related to Shabbat, holidays, or other sacred time.

5. Respect for Parents and Teachers

This category is derived from Ex. 20:12, beginning, "Honor your father and mother..."

6. Prohibition of Physically Harming a Person

This category is derived from Ex. 20:13, saying, "You shall not murder."

7. Prohibition of Sexual Immorality

This category is derived from Ex. 20:13, saying, "You shall not commit adultery."

8. Prohibition of Theft

This category is derived from Ex. 20:13, saying, "You shall not steal." It includes within it both outright robbery as well as various forms of theft by deception and unethical business practices. It also includes kidnapping, which is essentially "stealing" a person.

9. Prohibition of Harming a Person through Speech

This category is derived from Ex. 20:13, saying, "You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor." It includes all forms of lashon ha-ra (sins relating to speech).

10. Prohibition of Coveting

This category is derived from Ex. 20:14, beginning, "You shall not covet your neighbor's house..."

Hi FHG,

So nice to meet you and a BIG welcome here. Thanks for dropping by to say hello. Please find some comments to your post below for your consideration.

Genesis 2:1 Thus the heavens and the earth were finished and all the host of them. 2 And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made. 3 And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made. Sabbath is the seventh day, which by our calendar makes it a Saturday. It is the day God rested after creating everything including man and woman.

According to God's time the evening anf the morning were the first day (Genesis 1:5) so God's Sabbath of the 4th commandment is from Friday sunset to Saturday sunset not Saturday from our normal calendars and then every 7th day according to the commendment (Exodus 20:8-11).

God sanctified it meaning He set it apart form all the other days as a day He rested from all His work. From the time of Adam to that of Mt. Sinai it was never commanded as being a holy day or that all mankind was to rest on that day. It was a Holy day as God being Holy and rested that day.

Gen
3,
And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified H6942 it: because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made.

The word "SANCTIFIED" as used in Genesis 2:3 has a few meanings. You are correct in saying that God set apart the 7th day of the creation week. God set the 7th day aprat from the rest of the week and blessed it and made it a Holy rest day. The word "SANCTIFIED" also means to "PROCLAIM HOLY"

Hebrew and Greek Dictionaries
w/TVM, Strong - H6942; קדשׁ; qâdash; ; kaw-dash'
A primitive root; to be (causatively make, pronounce or observe as) clean (ceremonially or morally): - appoint, bid, consecrate, dedicate, defile, hallow, be, keep holy (-er, place), keep, prepare, proclaim, purify, sanctify (-ied one, self), X wholly.

The Sabbath was a ceremonial law practiced and that of the Old Covenant, the same covenant that circumcised and sacrificed animals. Some may literally circumcise, but we do not sacrifice animals anymore. This ceremonial law was only for Israel and not the Gentiles as now under the new covenant that joins Israel and Gentiles together under the grace of God the ceremonial laws no longer exist as Jesus is now our sacrifice whom we find rest in.

The 4th commandment has NEVER been a ceremonial LAW it is one of God's 10 commandments written on tables of stone with the finger of God himself and spoken to God's people himself and is the sole work of God that he commanded to keep separated from the Mosiac book of the LAW (Ex 32:16; 34:28; Deut 4:13; 10:4Romans 3:20, 1 John 3:4; Romans 7:7; Ps 119:172; James 2:8-12; Hebrews 8:10-12; Gal 3:24Deut 5:22; Ex 34:28; Deut 4:13; 10:4Ecc 3:14God's LAW; Ex 25:16; Deut 10:5; Ecc 3:14; Book of the law; Deut 31:26; Col 2:14-17)

This is because God's LAW (10 commandments) is forever because it is the work of God written and spoken by God himself and the book of the law is a shadow of things to come (Ecc 3:14; Col 2:14-17).

Now there was indeed ceremonial laws from the book of Moses that did indeed REVOLVE around God's 4th commandment. Such as those in Leviticus, Numbers, Deuteronomy and others in relation to the ceremonial laws of Moses for remissios of SIN (animal sacrifices, meat and drink offerings, annual festivals, and other ordinances) but this does not say the God's 4th commandment was a ceremonial law. How can it be a ceremonial law when it is the 4th commandment of God's LAW? It cannot be.

Here is what scripture says about worship and I also need to add that it is not a four wall building that we are to worship in, but only that of the assembly gathered together with Christ in the midst of them whether it be in side or outside as Church being the body of Christ needs to be a place of teaching, lifting up and edifying one another through the word of God.
Matthew 18:20 For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.

John 4:
20 Our fathers worshipped in this mountain; and ye say that in Jerusalem is the place where men ought to worship. 21 Jesus saith unto her, Woman, believe me, the hour cometh, when ye shall neither in this mountain, nor yet at Jerusalem, worship the Father. 22 Ye worship ye know not what: we know what we worship: for salvation is of the Jews. 23 But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him.

1 Chronicles 16
29 Give unto the LORD the glory due unto his name: bring an offering, and come before him: worship the LORD in the beauty of holiness.

Very nicely said FHG, the Church is God's people not a building

Mark 2: 27 And he said unto them, The sabbath was made for man, and not man for the sabbath:

Luke:13:
14 And the ruler of the synagogue answered with indignation, because that Jesus had healed on the sabbath day, and said unto the people, There are six days in which men ought to work: in them therefore come and be healed, and not on the sabbath day.
15 The Lord then answered him, and said, Thou hypocrite, doth not each one of you on the sabbath loose his ox or his ass from the stall, and lead him away to watering?
16 And ought not this woman, being a daughter of Abraham, whom Satan hath bound, lo, these eighteen years, be loosed from this bond on the sabbath day?
17 And when he had said these things, all his adversaries were ashamed: and all the people rejoiced for all the glorious things that were done by him.

I like the scriptures you quote here because this is what Jesus came to teach in the New Testament and that is that it is LAWFUL to do GOOD on the Sabbath. He came to show us how to keep God's Sabbath holy and what it was made for. It was made for mankind as a memorial of creation as a day set aside by God for mankind as a Holy day so that we can remember him who LOVES us. Jesus is the creator (John 1:1-14) and he is the LORD of the Sabbath day (Matthew 12:8) and commands us to keep it as a Holy day (Exodus 20:8-12)

...............

God's 4th commandment is one of the ten (Exodus 20:8-11) If we knowingly break it when God asks us not to we stand guilty before God of committing sin (James 2:8-12). If we do not seek him in repentance and forgiveness we are in danger of the Judgement (Hebrews 10:26-27)

There is not one scripture in ALL of God's WORD that says God's 4th commandment is now ABOLISHED and we are now commanded to worship God on Sunday in it's place.

Sunday worship is a tradition and teaching of man that has lead many to break the commandments of God. Jesus says that if we follow the traditions of man that break the commandments of God we are not following God (Matthew 15:3-9)

In times of ignorance God winks at but now calls all men every where to REPENT for the KINGDOM of HEAVEN is at HAND (Acts 17:30-31)

Here is a little unknown fact that many do not know. There are 613 mitzvot.

Hello FHG,

Yes there is many laws in the Torah but according to scritpure, the OLD Covenant laws were divided into (1) God's LAW (10 commandments) and the (2) Mosaic laws written in the book.

One was written and made by God alone and notthing was to be added to it and the other was made and written by Moses as directed by God in a book. God's LAW (10 commandments) was placed in the Ark of the Covenant. While the Mosaic book of the law was plaved in the side of the Ark of the covenant (Ex 32:16; 34:28; Deut 4:13; 10:4Romans 3:20, 1 John 3:4; Romans 7:7; Ps 119:172; James 2:8-12; Hebrews 8:10-12; Gal 3:24Deut 5:22; Ex 34:28; Deut 4:13; 10:4Ecc 3:14God's LAW; Ex 25:16; Deut 10:5; Ecc 3:14; Book of the law; Deut 31:26; Col 2:14-17).

It is true indeed that both God's LAW and the Mosaic laws written in the book of the covenant collectively have the 613 commands. This being said both Gods' LAW and the Mosaic laws for remission of sin have a different purpose.

The purpose of God's LAW written on stone and the Mosic laws written in the book

1) God’s Law
(10 commandments)
Purpose; reveals what sin and righteousness (Good and Evil) is and describes the penalty for sin (Romans 3:20; 1 John 3:4; Romans 6:23). It was never a cure for sin. But it was the work of God which is forever and the foundation of the Old Covenant, the New Covenant and the Judgement to come. (Exodus 32:16; Exodus 31:18; 31:18; Exodus 20:1-22; Deuteronomy 10:5; Romans 3:20; 1 John 3:4; Romans 6:23; Hebrews 7:19; Ecclesiastes 12:13-14, James 2:10-12, 1 John 3:4, Acts 17:31; Ps 111:7-8; Revelation 12:17; 14:12; 22:14; 1 John 3:5-8; 1 John 2:3-4; Ecclesiastes 3:14)

(2) The laws of Moses (Levitical, ceremonial, sacrificial)
Purpose; was the prescriptive cure for sin with all the Levitical and ceremonial laws, burnt offerings for sin, annual feast days foretelling the plan of salvation which were connected to Feast days with New Moon sabbaths, food and drink offerings and other Holy days. These where all types pointing to Jesus and the plan of salvation and provided a cure for sin through animal sacrifice and food and drink offerings and yearly sin atonement's for God’s people. (Leviticus 1:1-13; Leviticus 23:1-44; Numbers 28:1-31; 29:1-40; Deuteronomy 24:10-11; Exodus 24:3; Deuteronomy 31:24-26; Colossians 2:16-16; Hebrews 10:1; Ephesians 2:14-15; Leviticus 4; 5; 6; Hebrews 4:14; 9;10; John 1:29; not exhaustive there are many more).

Why were the ceremonial laws of Moses (handwriting of ordinances) nailed to the cross and shadows of things to come......

Jesus was our true sacrifice for our sins and the Savior of the world that the ceremonial laws of Moses all pointed to. When Jesus came and died the old Covenant laws of Moses that pointed to Jesus and the plan of salvation was fulfilled (John 1:29; 36; Revelation 5:6; 1 Corinthians 5:6-7; Hebrews 8:2-13; 9:1-28). Jesus is our true Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world and our sacrifice for our sins. It is our sins as well as the ceremonial laws of Moses that were nailed to the cross at the death of Jesus (Colossians 2:14; Ephesians 2:15; John 3:16).

So just as the Mosaic laws for remission of SIN are have a difference purpose to God's Law (10 commandments) they are all temporary Shadows because they were all pointing to Jesus. While God's Law is not temporary they are the manifestation of the Character of God through LOVE.

GODS LAW (10 commandments) ARE FOREVER

The Law of God (10 commandments) which includes the 4th commandment is the work of God (Exodus 32:16) whatsoever God does is forever nothing can be added to it or taken away (Ecclesiastes 3:14).
God's Law is perfect converting the soul (Psalms 19:7).
It is the very standard of the Old and New Covenants (Exodus 20:1:17, Hebrews 8:10-12).
God's Law was spoken by God himself to His people (Exodus 20:1-22). Jesus says Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away (Matthew 25:35).
Gods Law is still in force today (Psalms 111:7-8, Revelation 12:17, 14:12, 22:14, 1 John 3:5-8, 1 John 2:3-4 etc.).
The Law of God reveals sin to us so we can see ourselves as we truly are sinners in need of a Saviour (Romans 3:20; 1 John 3:4).
It is the great standard of the judgement (Ecclesiastes 12:13-14, James 2:10-12, 1 John 3:4, Acts 17:31).
God's Law is our teacher revealing sin and the character of God and brings us to Christ at the foot of the cross that we might be saved by faith by Him who loves us and washed us in His own blood (Galatians 3:24; Revelation 1:5).
Jesus came not to abolish the law, but to fulfil it ( Matt 5:17-20 ).

The law is the embodiment of truth that instructs ( Rom 2:18-19 ).

It is "holy" and "spiritual, " making sin known to us by defining it; therefore, Paul delights in it ( Romans 7:7-14 Romans 7:22 ).

The law is good if used properly ( 1 Tim 1:8 ), and is not opposed to the promises of God ( Gal 3:21 ). Faith does not make the law void, but the Christian establishes the law ( Rom 3:31 ), fulfilling its requirements by walking according to the Spirit ( Rom 8:4 ) through love ( Rom 13:10 ).

You cannot know the power of God or the Gospel of Grace without the 10 commandments. If there is NO LAW then you do not know what SIN is (James 2:11; Romans 7:7; Romans 3:20; 1 John 3:4). If you do not know what SIN is you have NO need of a Savior. If you have NO need of a Savior you have NO Salvation. If you have NO Salvation you are LOST because it is written.

Romans 2:12, For as many as have sinned without law shall also perish without law: and as many as have sinned in the law shall be judged by the law

If you read all the 613 laws especially in the categories they are placed in you will see that what we call the ten commandments and think they are separate from the other 603 laws they are actually found within the various categories of the laws and not a separate set like that of the Noahic commandments given to Noah way before the other laws Moses received on Mt. Sinai.

Hi FHG,

Nice to chat to you again..

Sinai.

"The tradition that 613 commandments (Hebrew: תרי"ג מצוות‬, taryag mitzvot, "613 mitzvot") is the number of mitzvot in the Torah, began in the 3rd century CE, when Rabbi Simlai mentioned it in a sermon that is recorded in Talmud Makkot 23b." (wiki)

This was a classification system made by man in the 3rd centuary. It is not a classification system describing the purpose of God's LAW (10 commandments) written and spoken by God and the Mosaic laws written in the book of Moses that God commanded to be separated in the Ark of the Covenant. There is a reason for the separation of these laws that made up the Old Covenant as outlined in the scriptures of posts # 62 and 63 above.

Beginning in Exodus through Deuteronomy you will find all 613 laws that include the ten many try to separate. If you go to this site I have listed above you can read all 613 in their categories and also each Book, Chapter and verse they are found in. It's to lengthy to list here.

There are laws (commandments) that were especially written just for the Hebrews pertaining to the rituals of the Temple, sacrifices, festivals, Torah, Kohanim and Levites, the King and the Nazarite and then there are the existing moral laws (commandments) for all of us to still follow as in prayers and blessings, love and brotherhood, the poor and unfortunate, treatment of the Gentiles, Marriage, divorce and family, forbidden sexual relations, business practices, employees and servants, vows, oaths, swearing, Court and Judicial procedures, injuries and damages, property and property rights, Criminal laws, prophecy, idolatry and all its practices as the moral laws (commandments) keep us in line with the will of God that we present ourselves a vessel of honor that God delights in as we allow the light of Christ shine in us and through us as a testimony of Gods grace and mercy as it is not ourselves that do any good thing, but Gods Spirit working in us and through us as we surrender our will to that of Gods will to be done.

Good morning JBL (my time) hope you are well today.

Now JBL, I see you have ignored all my questions and yet expect me to answer all yours, is that fair?

It is ok you do not need to answer my question if you do not wish to I understand.

Do you know what the purpose is of God's LAW (10 commandments)?

The purpose of God's LAW (10 commandments) is to give us a KNOWLEDGE of SIN and RIGHTEOUSNESS (Good and Evil). It makes nothing perfect but points out what SIN is. (Romans 3:20; Romans 7:7; James 2:11; 1 John 3:4). So that all the world may become guilty before God (Romans 3:19).

God's LAW shows us that we are SINNERS in need of a Savior. If you do NOT have God's LAW as some people teach then you have NO KNOWLDGE of what SIN is. If you have NO KNOWLEDGE of what SIN is then you have NO NEED of a Savior. If you have NO NEED of a Savior you have NO SLAVATION. If you have NO SALVATION then you are LOST in your SINS because it is written;

Rom 2:12
For as many as have sinned without law shall also perish without law: and as many as have sinned in the law shall be judged by the law

God's LAW written on stone and made by God and spoken by God himself has 10 commandments. If we break ONE of them we stand guilty before GOD in SIN therefore breaking ALL of them because it is written;

James 2
8,
If ye fulfil the royal law according to the scripture, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself, ye do well:
9, But if ye have respect to persons, ye commit sin, and are convinced of the law as transgressors.
10, For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all.
11, For he that said, Do not commit adultery, said also, Do not kill. Now if thou commit no adultery, yet if thou kill, thou art become a transgressor of the law.
12,
So speak ye, and so do, as they that shall be judged by the law of liberty.

Where does it say in the NEW TESTAMENT that God's 4th commandment has been ABOLSIHED and we are now commanded to keep Sunday as a Holy day?

God's 4th commandment is one of the ten (Exodus 20:8-11) If we knowingly break it when God asks us not to we stand guilty before God of committing sin (James 2:8-12). If we do not seek him in repentance and forgiveness we are in danger of the Judgement (Hebrews 10:26-27)

THE TEN COMMANDMENTS IN THE NEW TESTAMENT

1
You shall have no other gods before Me.
It is written: You shall worship the Lord your God and Him only you shall serve. (Luke 4:8; Matthew 4:10; Revelation 14:7)

2
You must not make for yourself a carved image, a likeness of anything in heaven, on earth, or under the sea.
God is Spirit and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth. (John 4:24; Acts 15:20; 1 Corinthians 6:9; Ephesians 5:5; 1 Peter 4:3; 1 John 5:21; Revelation 2:14)

3
You shall not take the Name of the Lord your God in vain.
(1 Timothy 6:1, James 2:7)

4
Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy.
The Sabbath [seventh day] was made for man, not man for the Sabbath, so the Son of Man is Lord even of the Sabbath. (Mark 2:27-28, Hebrews 4; Matthew 12:8; Matthew 12:1-8; 10-12; 24:20; Mark 3:1-5; Luke 6:1-10; 13:14-16; 14:1-5; John 7:22-23; 9:14; Mark 1:21; Mark 6:2; Luke 4:16; 31; Luke 14:1; 23:56(Mark 2:28; Matthew 10-12; 24:20; Mark 3:1-5; Luke 6:1-10; 13:14-16; 14:1-5; John 7:22-23; 9:14; Mark 1:21; Mark 6:2; Luke 4:16; 31; Luke 14:1; 23:56; John 2:6; Matthew 16:24; Acts 13:14; 13:27; 13:44; 15:21; 16:13; 17:2; 18:4; Revelations 1:10 Is binding on all mankind today COL 2:14-17 THE REAL TRUTH THREAD (Linked)

5
Honour your father and mother.
Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. (Ephesians 6:1; Colossians 3:20; Matthew 15:4; Matthew 19:19)

6
You shall not murder.
I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, pray for those who abuse you, that you may be sons of your Father in heaven. (Matthew 5:44-45; Matt. 5:21-26; Romans 13:9; 1 Timothy 1:9; 1 John 3:15; James 2:11; Matthew 19:18)

7
You shall not commit adultery.
I say to you whoever even looks at another in lust has already committed adultery in their heart. (Matthew 5:28, 1 Cor. 5:11, 1 Cor. 6:18, Galatians 5:19, Hebrews 13:4, James 2:11, Matthew 19:19, Romans 13:9)

8
You shall not steal.
Neither thieves, the greedy, or drunkards and robbers will inherit the Kingdom. (1 Corinthians 6:10, Romans 2:21, Mark 7:21, Ephesians 4:28, Romans 13:9, Matthew 19:18)

9
You shall not bear false witness.
For by your words, you will be justified and by your words you will be condemned. (Matthew 15:19, Ephesians 4:25, Col. 3:9; Matthew 19:18, Romans 13:9)

10
You shall not covet your neighbours possessions.
Take heed and beware of covetousness, for one’s life does not consist of the things he possesses. (Luke 12:15, Romans 7:7, Ephesians 5:3, 1 Tim. 6:10, Hebrews 13:5, Romans 13:9)

You are confusing your rules and regulations with the Mosaic laws written in a book that where shadows of things to come (Colossians 2)

............................

Sunday worship is a tradition and teaching of man that has lead many to break the commandments of God. Jesus says that if we follow the traditions of man that break the commandments of God we are not following God (Matthew 15:3-9)

Who should we follow the teachings and traditions of men or the Word of God? Who should we believe the Words of men or the Word of God?

Seems God's Word is true; Every argument sounds good until the other side is heard.....

May God bless you as you seek him through His Word.

You have me mixed up with someone else.

I have told you over and over, and over again, I believe we are to keep the 10 Commandments.

The only thing you and I seem to disagree on is how the Sabbath is to be kept.

Which brings us to the only thing that needs to be discussed.

How the Sabbath is to be kept.

You quoted the commandment from Exodus and claimed that this is the word of God that teaches us to obey the Sabbath.

I quoted my verse from Exodus that teaches us those who violate the Sabbath are to be put to death.

Then all of a sudden, you start to backpedal and say we are in the New Covenant....

So now I asked you if we are in the New Covenant, why are you shoving the law of Moses and the Old Testament rules about the Sabbath down my throat?

If we are to keep the Sabbath according to the law of Moses, then please keep according to the law, and put people to death for violating it.

Don't break the commandment about the Sabbath.

However, if we are in the New Covenant, then let's examine what the writers of the New Covenant scriptures have to teach us about how we are to keep the Sabbath in the New Covenant.

Which brings us to my question that you refuse to answer, rather you are giving me another lesson about the 10 Commandments which as I have said, I believe we are to keep.

Here I will post the New Testament scripture that deals with the Sabbath as well as food that was prohibited under the law.

One person esteems one day above another; another esteems every day alike.Let each be fully convinced in his own mind. 6 He who observes the day, observes it to the Lord; and he who does not observe the day, to the Lord he does not observe it. He who eats, eats to the Lord, for he gives God thanks; and he who does not eat, to the Lord he does not eat, and gives God thanks.
Romans 14:5-6

One person esteems one day above another; another esteems every day alike.Let each be fully convinced in his own mind.

If you esteem Saturday above other days of the week, then please feel free keep the Sabbath they way you want, as unto the Lord.

For me I'm glad to have a Day of rest each week, and to me Saturday is a great day to rest and bar b que some baby back ribs and bacon wrapped shrimp.

Now it's your turn to post a scripture from the New Testament about how we are to keep the Sabbath today.

Hi FHG,

Thanks for the website information. It really makes no difference to, or decribles what the purpose is of God's LAW and the Mosaic laws written in the book of Moses.

What we should be pointing people to is God's Word.

It is very clear if you look at the scriptures, that God's LAW (10 commandments) and the Mosaic laws written in the book of Moses that TOGETHER make up the OLD COVENANT both have a DIFFERENT role and God asked Moses to keep them separated in the Ark of the Covernant for a reason. These reasons have already outlined with the scriptures in posts # 62 and 63 above.

Thanks for sharing though interesting article.

.........................

Hi JBL,

Nice to see you again my friend. Some comments for your consideration below...

You have me mixed up with someone else.
I have told you over and over, and over again, I believe we are to keep the 10 Commandments.

There is no mix up. Yes you have told me over and over that you believe we are to keep God's 10 commandments. If you only keep 9 commandments how are you keeping 10 commandments?

The only thing you and I seem to disagree on is how the Sabbath is to be kept. Which brings us to the only thing that needs to be discussed.

Yes that is what I am saying above. How can you say you believe we are to keep the 10 commandments when you only keep 9 of the 10?

SIN is the transgression of God's LAW (1 John 3:4; James 2:11; Romans 7:7; 3:20)

The scripture says if you break one of the ten you are guilty before God in SIN of breaking all of them.

James 2
8,
If ye fulfil the royal law according to the scripture, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself, ye do well:
9, But if ye have respect to persons, ye commit sin, and are convinced of the law as transgressors.
10, For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all.
11, For he that said, Do not commit adultery, said also, Do not kill. Now if thou commit no adultery, yet if thou kill, thou art become a transgressor of the law.
12,
So speak ye, and so do, as they that shall be judged by the law of liberty.

Does this not worry you that you say you believe as you say we are to keep 10 of God's Commandments but in practrice you only keep 9 commandments and disregard the 4th commandment which according to God's Word if we KNOWINGLY break we commit SIN?

You quoted the commandment from Exodus and claimed that this is the word of God that teaches us to obey the Sabbath.

Yes Exodus 20 is where the 10 commandments are listed in God's Word that you claim we are to keep all of them but then say in the next breath we are to disregard the 4th commandment only keeping 9 of the 10 commandments. How is this keeping the 10 commandments when you only really keep 9 of the 10?

I quoted my verse from Exodus that teaches us those who violate the Sabbath are to be put to death. Then all of a sudden, you start to backpedal and say we are in the New Covenant

You quoted from the CIVIL laws of Moses given to Israel under the Old Covenant for openly breaking the Sabbath as you singularly applied the application the 4th commandment only. I provided the other CIVIL laws that applied to most of the other 10 commandments to show you that the CIVIL DEATH penalty laws of Moses under the Old Covenant applied to nearly all of God's LAWS not only God's 4th commandment.

There has been NO backpeddling whatsoever. I have been consistent in all my replies from the first post stating your application of the scriipture does not apply under the NEW Covenant as they are CIVIL laws to the nation of Israel under the Old Covenant then provided you with scirpture under the NEW Covenant to show their application in the NEW Testament including the penalty of SIN at the 2nd coming of Christ.
Suggest you perhaps go back and re-read posts # 46 and earlier in post # 21.

So now I asked you if we are in the New Covenant, why are you shoving the law of Moses and the Old Testament rules about the Sabbath down my throat?

Now JBL, one moment you claim we are to keep ALL of God's 10 commandments right?

The 4th Commandment is one of the 10 commandments is it not (Exodus 20:8-11)?

The 4th Commandment is one of the 10 commandments written by God on two tables of stone is it not (Ex 34:28) ?

It is SIN to break ANY of God's 10 commandments is it not (1 John 3:4; Romans 7:7; 3:20). If we break one of God's Commandments we stand guilty before God of breaking ALL of God's commandments do we not? (James 2:8-12)?

This is why I asked you earlier if you understand what makes up the OLD Covenant and what the purposes of God's LAW are, and the Mosaic book of the law, that makes up the OLD Covenant. If you do not understand the purpose of these Laws, you will not understand the NEW Covenant.

God's LAW (10 commandments) are Forever. God's LAW give us a KNOWLEDGE of SIN and RIGHTEOUSNESS and lead the sinner to the Savior. They are the standard in the Old and NEW Covenants one on stone the other on written on the heart to LOVE.

The laws of MOSES however are temporary as man is temporary and are shadows of things to come pointing to Jesus, things to come and God's plan of salvation.

In times of ignorance God winks at but now calls all men every where to REPENT for the KINGDOM of HEAVEN is at HAND (Acts 17:30-31)

If your FAITH does not have the FRUIT of OBEDIENCE then you are still in your SINS and do not KNOW him who is calling you.

SIN is the transgression of God's LAW (10 commandments) if you break ANY one of them you stand guilty before God in SIN and need to seek him in REPENTANCE and FORGIVENESS. Please read; James 2:18; 20; 26; Matthew 7:13-23; 1 John 3:6-8; 1 John 3:4; James 2:8-12.

If your tree does not bear the FRUIT of OBEDIENCE is will be cast down and thrown into the fire (Matthew 7:13-23)

God is calling all to REPENT for the KINGDOM of HEAVEN is at hand.

If we are to keep the Sabbath according to the law of Moses, then please keep according to the law, and put people to death for violating it.

Are you living in the NEW Covenant or NOT? Do you BELIEVE we are to keep God's 10 commandments through FAITH under the NEW Covenant? You statement makes no sense.

Which brings us to my question that you refuse to answer, rather you are giving me another lesson about the 10 Commandments which as I have said, I believe we are to keep.

Now JBL is that true? What question have I refused to answer that you have asked? It is the other way around I think I have asked qestions that you have not answered or missed I do not know. If you BELIEVE we are to keep the 10 commandments why are you trying to say God's 4th commandment is not to be kept?

How are you keeping the 10 commandments when in fact you are only keeping 9 of the 10?

What you should be saying is that you believe we should keep the 9 Commandments of God but that would not be scriptural would it?

SIN is the transgression of God's LAW (10 commandments) if you break ANY one of them you stand guilty before God in SIN and need to seek him in REPENTANCE and FORGIVENESS. Please read; James 2:18; 20; 26; Matthew 7:13-23; 1 John 3:6-8; 1 John 3:4; James 2:8-12.

If your tree does not bear the FRUIT of OBEDIENCE is will be cast down and thrown into the fire (Matthew 7:13-23)

Now JBL,

Repeating the same thing over and over does not magically make things come true. I have also already responded to this in post # 22
if you would like to read it again...

Where in the chapter or in the whole book of Romans does it even mention God's 4th commandment of the 7th day Sabbath of God's commandment?

If the whole chapter or book of Romans does not even mention God's LAW, the 4th commandment of the 7th day Sabbath of God's LAW why do you think it is talking about God's LAW (10 commandments)?

The simple truth is that the Chapter is not about God's commandment as it is not even mentioned. Let's look at the chapter and see what it is talking about...........

Romans 14
1,
Him that is weak in the faith receive ye, but not to doubtful disputations. The first thing we see here is that this chapter is about relating to a weak brother.
2, For one believeth that he may eat all things: another, who is weak, eateth herbs.
3, Let not him that eateth despise him that eateth not; and let not him which eateth not judge him that eateth: for God hath received him.
4, Who art thou that judgest another man's servant? to his own master he standeth or falleth. Yea, he shall be holden up: for God is able to make him stand.

Now to the meat and potatoes…

5, One man esteemeth one day above another: another esteemeth every day alike. Let every man be fully persuaded in his own mind.
6, He that regardeth the day, regardeth it unto the Lord; and he that regardeth not the day, to the Lord he doth not regard it. He that eateth, eateth to the Lord, for he giveth God thanks; and he that eateth not, to the Lord he eateth not, and giveth God thanks.

Why is eating and fasting (not eating) connected to days here? Let’s see…...............

(6), He that regardeth the day, regardeth it unto the Lord; and he that regardeth not the day, to the Lord he doth not regard it. He that eateth, eateth to the Lord, for he giveth God thanks; and he that eateth not, to the Lord he eateth not, and giveth God thanks.

Isaiah 58
5, Is it such a fast that I have chosen? a day for a man to afflict his soul?
is it to bow down his head as a bulrush, and to spread sackcloth and ashes under him? wilt thou call this a fast, and an acceptable day to the LORD?

links to.....

Luke 18
11,
The Pharisee stood and prayed thus with himself, God, I thank thee, that I am not as other men are, extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this publican. 12, I fast twice in the week, I give tithes of all that I possess.

From Bullingers Companion Bible…........

Luke 18:12
Twice in the week. The law prescribed only one in the year (Lev_16:29. Num_29:7). By the time of Zec_8:19 there were four yearly fasts. In our Lord's day they were bi-weekly (Monday and Thursday), between Passover and Pentecost; and between the Feast of Tabernacles and the Dedication.

Yes they fasted sometimes two days a week and also annually in the feasts of Lev 23.

7, For none of us liveth to himself, and no man dieth to himself.
8, For whether we live, we live unto the Lord; and whether we die, we die unto the Lord: whether we live therefore, or die, we are the Lord's.
9, For to this end Christ both died, and rose, and revived, that he might be Lord both of the dead and living.
10, But why dost thou judge thy brother? or why dost thou set at nought thy brother?
for we shall all stand before the judgment seat of Christ.
11, For it is written, As I live, saith the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God.
12, So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God.
13, Let us not therefore judge one another any more: but judge this rather, that no man put a stumblingblock or an occasion to fall in his brother's way.
14, I know, and am persuaded by the Lord Jesus, that there is nothing unclean <ceremonially profaned, defiled or unholy> of itself: but to him that esteemeth any thing to be unclean<ceremonially profaned, defiled or unholy>, to him it is unclean.
15
, But if thy brother be grieved with thy meat, now walkest thou not charitably. Destroy not him with thy meat, for whom Christ died.

(14) At the time meat and drink were offered to pagan idols. After it was offered it was sold in a meat market called the ‘Shambles’.

1Cor 10
25,
Whatsoever is sold in the shambles, that eat, asking no question for conscience sake:

Shambles ; μάκελλον; makellon; mak'-el-lon Of Latin origin [macellum ]; a butcher's stall, meat market or provision shop: - shambles.

There were those who were weak in the faith (verse 1) who were offended by the thought of food being offered to idols. They somehow thought that eating that food was somehow connecting them with the idolatrous practices around them.

Some points to consider in Romans 14:1-15............

1. The chapter is talking about a number of related topics
2. Overall it is talking about not juding those who are weak in the faith in relation to food connected to days or days dedicated to the Lord and that is all it is talking about.
3. Food connected to days in usually in relation to the annual festivals or fasting connected to weekly or Holy days unto the Lord (Lev 16:29. Num 29:7; Issaiah 58:5; Luke 18:11-12).
4. There is no mention of the Sabbath or God's 4th commandment in this chapter or the entire book of Romans.
5. Romans 14 is not talking about ABOLISHING ANY DAYS but only talking about judging others in relation to food or fasting connected to days dedicated to the LORD and food offered to idols.
6. The Chapter is consistant with all the other writing of Paul in relation to the jewish annual holy days fulfilled in Christ (eg, Colossains 2; Ephesians 2; Galatains 4:10; Hebrews 9:9-15; 10:1-17).
7. Paul's topics is summarised in v17; For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost.

It is very clear from reading the scriptures that this whole Chapter has nothing whatsoever at all to do with the 4th commandment which is to keep Holy the 7th day Sabbath but is talking about judging others in relation to food connected to holy days and idolatry.

.....................

  • God's 4th commandment is one of the ten (Exodus 20:8-11) If we knowingly break it when God asks us not to we stand guilty before God of committing sin (James 2:8-12).

If you do not put people to death for violating the Sabbath as mandated by the word of God then you are guilty of breaking the Sabbath law requirement.

If you are keeping the Sabbath according to the law, because you think it's a sin not to, then you are doing to be right and just with God.

That is the text book definition of trying to justified by the law.

You have quoted Exodus 20:8-11 over and over in an attempt to some try and convince me that I need to keep the law of Moses.

You have not addressed the fact that keeping the law of the Sabbath requires you to put to death the violators.

You have only tried to explain it away as being a civil under the old covenant when it is the word of God to those in Exodus just as Exodus 20:8-11.

In addition, you have attempted to explain away Romans 14 as being insignificant because it does not mention God's 4th Commandment, when it addresses the subject of esteeming certain days over other days of the week.

The context -

8 Owe no one anything except to love one another, for he who loves another has fulfilled the law. 9 For the commandments, “You shall not commit adultery,” “You shall not murder,” “You shall not steal,” “You shall not bear false witness,” “You shall not covet,” and if there is any other commandment, are all summed up in this saying, namely, “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” 10 Love does no harm to a neighbor; therefore love is the fulfillment of the law. Romans 13:8-10

Paul is dealing with the commandments as he instructs the Romans about esteeming one day over the other, as well as food laws that were set for by the law of Moses.

When Paul writes these words in the next paragraph he is fully aware of what the law says about the Sabbath and special feast days and food laws.

5 One person esteems one day above another; another esteems every day alike.Let each be fully convinced in his own mind. 6 He who observes the day, observes it to the Lord; and he who does not observe the day, to the Lord he does not observe it. He who eats, eats to the Lord, for he gives God thanks; and he who does not eat, to the Lord he does not eat, and gives God thanks.
Romans 14:5-6

  • One person esteems one day above another; another esteems every day alike.Let each be fully convinced in his own mind.

Does not esteeming Saturday or esteeming Saturday do harm to my neighbor? No.

Does telling my neighbor that he must keep the Sabbath according to the law of Moses or he is guilty of sin before and will be punished do harm to my neighbor?
Yes.

Trying to put guilt and shame on your neither because he doesn't esteem Saturday the way you do is not love.

If your neighbor is stealing or lying or involved in sexually immorality and the like then yes, he needs correction.

You on the other have only quoted from Exodus 20:8-11 when asked to provide New Testament scriptures that teach us to keep the Sabbath according to Moses.

If you can not, please refrain from addressing me anymore with Old Testament scriptures about keeping the law of Moses to be justified.

The context of Romans 14 is certainly dealing with the Commandments.

The Jerusalem Council.

Not one word is mention or even hinted at about the Sabbath at the Jerusalem council in dealing with the law of Moses.

For it seemed good to the Holy Spirit, and to us, to lay upon you no greater burden than these necessary things: that you abstain from things offered to idols, from blood, from things strangled, and from sexual immorality. If you keep yourselves from these, you will do well. Acts 15:28-29

Again

13 And you, being dead in your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh, He has made alive together with Him, having forgiven you all trespasses, 14 having wiped out the handwriting of requirements that was against us, which was contrary to us. And He has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the cross. 15 Having disarmed principalities and powers, He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them in it. So let no one judge you in food or in drink, or regarding a festival or a new moon or sabbaths, 17 which are a shadow of things to come, but the substance is of Christ. Colossians 2:13-17

  • having wiped out the handwriting of requirements that was against us, which was contrary to us. And He has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the cross.

  • So let no one judge you in food or in drink, or regarding a festival or a new moon or sabbaths, which are a shadow of things to come, but the substance is of Christ.
Same issue as in Romans 14 with the same contextual support involving the law of Moses.

  • So let no one judge you in food or in drink, or regarding a festival or a new moon or sabbaths.

Sabbaths any Sabbath is dealt with here as in Romans 14 by Paul.

Again please show me from the New Testament where anyone teaches us to keep the Sabbath according to the law of Moses.

JLB

Why would say such a thing about me?

Again, please hear me.

I believe we are to keep the commandments of God.

I don't believe we are to keep the Sabbath according to the law of Moses, in which we put people to death for breaking the Sabbath.

If you believe we are to put people to death for breaking the Sabbath then please post the scripture that teaches us this.

I believe we need to rest one day a week.

However this points us to the fulfillment of the Rest to come, when we live again with Christ for a thousand years.

The Seventh prophetic Day.

But, beloved, do not forget this one thing, that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.
2 Peter 3:8

The Day of the Lord, when Jesus returns and removes all the wicked from the earth, and His people live with Him for a thousand years with glorified bodies that will not die anymore and shine like the sun.

That is the Day of rest the weekly Sabbath points us to.

For now, we need to rest one day during the week.

JLB
Hi JLB

I just want to say that this Sabbath question has always confused me a little.
Here's my dilemma:

I also don't agree with the Law of Moses. The laws of Moses were left outside of the Ark of the Covenant. The Laws of God were placed inside the Ark of the Covenant.
The Laws of God are the 10 commandments.

Many of the Laws of Moses were civil and ceremonial in nature and we are not required to follow those laws.

But the Sabbath, Saturday, is one of the 10 commandments. If Jesus fulfilled that commandment, then aren't all those who claim He fulfilled ALL the law correct? Then doesn't this mean we can break any of the 10?

Man changed the day to Sunday. Didn't he?
I'm not a legalist, as you know, and I won't debate this.
It does make me stop and think about it when it comes up.

And I do believe God will forgive us anything we did not understand.

I know how you feel about this so a response is not necessary.

But the Sabbath, Saturday, is one of the 10 commandments.

Yes the commandments of God were around before Moses, are are still in effect today, after Moses law was abolished in His flesh, being nailed to the cross and taken out of the way, because it became obsolete giving way to the New Covenant.

IOW Moses law was always temporary.

Not the commandments that were apart of the Abrahamic Covenant, already before the law was added to it.

  • because Abraham obeyed My voice and kept My charge, My commandments, My statutes, and My laws.” Genesis 26:4

Let's be clear on this part, before we proceed.

Here are the scriptures with the language used to indicate what I am saying.

What purpose then does the law serve? It was added because of transgressions, till the Seed should come to whom the promise was made; and it was appointed through angels by the hand of a mediator.

  • It was added because of transgressions, till the Seed should come

By saying until, the Holy Spirit is indicating that the law that was added, was do so temporarily, being in place until the Seed should come and abolish in His flesh the law contained in ordinances.

Until = Temporary

again

14
For He Himself is our peace, who has made both one, and has broken down the middle wall of separation, 15 having abolished in His flesh the enmity, that is, the law of commandments contained in ordinances, so as to create in Himself one new man from the two, thus making peace, 16 and that He might reconcile them both to God in one body through the cross, thereby putting to death the enmity. Ephesians 2:14-16

  • having abolished in His flesh the enmity, that is, the law of commandments contained in ordinances

The law of commandments contained in ordinances is Moses law, that was added until the Seed should come.

16 So let no one judge you in food or in drink, or regarding a festival or a new moon or sabbaths, 17 which are a shadow of things to come, but the substance is of Christ. Colossians 2:13-17

  • having wiped out the handwriting of requirements that was against us, which was contrary to us. And He has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the cross.

It refers to the requirements that were against us, which is a direct reference to the law of Moses, and is a quote from Moses himself.

“Take this Book of the Law, and put it beside the ark of the covenant of the Lord your God, that it may be there as a witness against you; Deuteronomy 31:26

The student of the word must come to the conclusion that we are not under the law of Moses, which means we are not under obligation to keep the law of Moses, which includes circumcision.

This issue should be settled in our hearts by reading what all those who represent God's kingdom on earth, came to the conclusion of, on that Day in Jerusalem along with the Holy Spirit.
24 Since we have heard that some who went out from us have troubled you with words, unsettling your souls, saying, “You must be circumcised and keep the law” —to whom we gave no such commandment— 25 it seemed good to us, being assembled with one accord, to send chosen men to you with our beloved Barnabas and Paul, 26 men who have risked their lives for the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. 27 We have therefore sent Judas and Silas, who will also report the same things by word of mouth. 28 For it seemed good to the Holy Spirit, and to us, to lay upon you no greater burden than these necessary things: 29 that you abstain from things offered to idols, from blood, from things strangled, and from sexual immorality. If you keep yourselves from these, you will do well.
Acts 15:23-29

  • For it seemed good to the Holy Spirit, and to us, to lay upon you no greater burden than these necessary things: 29 that you abstain from things offered to idols, from blood, from things strangled, and from sexual immorality.

Perfect opportunity to mention the Sabbath requirements. Not one word.

Paul addressed practicing the works of the flesh in his letters to the churches he raised up and counseled and told the not to practice the works of the flesh.

Concerning the Sabbath he says -

So let no one judge you in food or in drink, or regarding a festival or a new moon or sabbaths, 17 which are a shadow of things to come, but the substance is of Christ.

The Sabbath was made for man to rest one day a week, and points us to the rest to come when Jesus returns and removes our enemies from the earth and to give us rest.

since it is a righteous thing with God to repay with tribulation those who trouble you, 7 and to give you who are troubled rest with us when the Lord Jesus is revealed from heaven with His mighty angels, 8 in flaming fire taking vengeance on those who do not know God, and on those who do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. 2 Thessalonians 1:6-8

  • and to give you who are troubled rest with us when the Lord Jesus is revealed from heaven

  • There remains therefore a rest for the people of God. Hebrews 4:9

If you would have at least took the time to go to http://www.jewfaq.org/index.shtml and read all 613 you would have also seen where each one is listed between Exodus through Deuteronomy.

Noahic (Noah) Commandments are seven commandments first given to Adam by God before the flood and brought to remembrance by God to Noah after the flood, which are binding on both Jew and Gentile. The seven make up the first parts of the ten that God gave to Moses on Mt Sinai in Exodus 20. Below is a comparison list of the seven and the full ten which are all a part of the 613 laws given to Moses as some were for the Hebrews pertaining to the rituals of the Temple, sacrifices, festivals, Torah, Kohanim and Levites, the King and the Nazarite and then there are the existing moral laws (commandments) for all, Jew and Gentile to follow. Christ did not come to destroy all the laws, but to fulfill the parts of the Temple and sacrifices, Matthew 5:17-20.

Noahic Laws:
Not to worship idols.
Not to curse God.
To establish courts of justice.
Not to commit murder.
Not to commit adultery or sexual immorality.
Not to steal.
Not to eat flesh torn from a living animal.

Mt. Sinai Laws:
You shall have no other gods before Me.
You shall not make idols.
You shall not take the name of the LORD your God in vain.
Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy.
Honor your father and your mother.
You shall not murder.
You shall not commit adultery.
You shall not steal.
You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.
You shall not covet.

Part of the ten laws broken down to various commands within one law:
Other gods and idols are as one not to worship, but broke down into two commands
Remember the Sabbath was added to Mosaic law by God as a remembrance of all God did in six days (Gods timing) and rested on the seventh, Genesis 2:1-3; Matthew 12:1-13
To establish courts of justice was only given to Noah for the new generations to come after the flood
Honor your father and mother was not given to Noah, but was added to Mosaic law by God as the generations grew
Not to covet was added to Mosaic law by God, but broke down into seven commands as your neighbor's house; you shall not covet your neighbor's wife, nor his male servant, nor his female servant, nor his ox, nor his donkey, nor anything that is your neighbor's.

The law and prophets need to be reestablished in the church as gentiles have been wo Jewish leadership for 1900 years and we tend to read and interpret only the NT without the foundation of the OT
The foundation is both OT prophets and NT apostles
Ephesians 2:20
But I believe this law... Will not be properly established in till the Jews are reestablished in their proper position in the church
Romans 11:23-24

I haven't heard in any of your rants just how we are to keep the Sabbath day holy?
What must we do?
What must we not do?

I would love it if people would study to learn because they do believe that that using the Ten Laws God gave us demands we also live with the other 603, made by men, must be, strictly, observed also and that isjust not true.
The other 603 were very definitely NOT "made by men."
See:
Exo 21:1ff “Now these are the judgments which you shall set before them:...
Exo 28:4ff “And these are the garments which they shall make:...
Exo 35:1ff Then Moses gathered all the congregation of the children of Israel together, and said to them, “These are the words which the LORD has commanded you to do:...
Lev 11:1-2ff Now the LORD spoke to Moses and Aaron, saying to them, “Speak to the children of Israel, saying, ‘These are the animals which you may eat among all the animals that are on the earth:...
Lev 23:1-2ff And the LORD spoke to Moses, saying, “Speak to the children of Israel, and say to them: ‘The feasts of the LORD, which you shall proclaim to be holy convocations, these are My feasts....
Lev 26:46 These are the statutes and judgments and laws which the LORD made between Himself and the children of Israel on Mount Sinai by the hand of Moses....
Lev 27:34 These are the commandments which the LORD commanded Moses for the children of Israel on Mount Sinai.
Num 30:16 These are the statutes which the LORD commanded Moses, between a man and his wife, and between a father and his daughter in her youth in her father's house....
Num 36:13 These are the commandments and the judgments which the LORD commanded the children of Israel by the hand of Moses in the plains of Moab by the Jordan, across fromJericho.
Deu 6:1ff “Now this is the commandment, and these are the statutes and judgments which the LORD your God has commanded to teach you, that you may observe them in the land which you are crossing over to possess,...
Deu 29:1 These are the words of the covenant which the LORDcommanded Moses to make with the children of Israel in the land of Moab, besides the covenant which He made with them in Horeb.

The LORD gave those commands, statutes, regulations, etc. They are NOT the laws of any men.

I'm sorry you feel the information I have given on this topic are only rants, but if you would have read post #74 you would have seen the scripture of what Jesus said about the sabbath. Go read Matthew 12:1-13 for there you will find the answer as well as I have as I will not deal with your unkindness.
