Yes Jim that is correct although the commandment says it is the 7th day of the week we are to rest on and cease from work because God made the 7th day a Holy day, not the 1st day of the week this was given to Christianity by the Mother Church.I think He gave it because we need it. Rest one day a week.
I totally agree. While I don't believe we are under the law (for example I don't tithe but I do give according to how I purpose in my heart) I do think the concept of a Sabbath is healthy for living. So a few years ago, I picked a day (sometime Sunday, sometimes Saturday) and I rested. Sometimes that meant I napped, read, played my guitar, sat in front of the fire, sat outside on the deck, or whatever other restful things I didn't have time for during the work week. I'm retired. I still do this. I pick one day where I don't do anything work. I don't clean, I don't do laundry. I don't work in the yard (except that sometimes working in the yard/garden is my rest. Garden guys understand this). This practice has been mentally healthy for me. One day of rest, guilt free. I like it!I think He gave it because we need it. Rest one day a week.

Hi Reba,IF one is going to keep sabbath i do hope they use a Jewish calendar
IF we are to keep one don' t we need to keep them all ..
Jas_2:10 For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all.
Which all? Even breaking the speed limit is breaking God's law?IF we are to keep one don' t we need to keep them all ..
Jas_2:10 For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all.
Which all? Even breaking the speed limit is breaking God's law? Rom 13:1 Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God. Rom 13:5 Wherefore ye must needs be subject, not only for wrath, but also for conscience sake.
Heb 4:9 There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God. Heb 4:10 For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his.
2Co 3:7 But if the ministration of death, written and engraven in stones, . . . was to be done away
The 4th Commandment is God’s LAW not the law of Moses. It is God’s Word that says if anyone brakes any of the 10 Commandments they stand guilty before God in SIN. Why would it do harm to your neighbor if it leads your neighbor to REPENTANCE and CONFESSION of SIN in order to LOVE God?
SIN is the transgression of God’s LAW if any brake it they stand guilty before God in SIN. IT is SIN that will keep all who practice it OUT of God’s Kingdom. Is it not our duty of LOVE to God and our fellow man to preach the Gospel to help our fellow man to get ready for the Kingdom of Heaven?
Could I suggest you read Ezekiel 3:17-21?
God's 4th commandment is one of the ten (Exodus 20:8-11) If we knowingly break it when God asks us not to we stand guilty before God of committing sin (James 2:8-12). If we do not seek him in repentance and forgiveness we are in danger of the Judgement (Hebrews 10:26-27)
Really JLB you must have missed post # 46 linked that was addressed to you showing the new testament scriptures on Jesus teaching us how to keep God’s Sabbath? No need to comment further take a look at the link.
Post # 70 is the latest with all the scriptures looking at all the versus and context for Romans 14
Acts 15 has also been addressed already in post # 5 and later again in post # 57 with scriptures. You may wish to have a read.
Did you have anything new to share?
See post # 13 linked for your ease of travel.
This is addressed already but I will look to make a more detailed thread discussion on this topic latter if I get some time.

There is not one scripture in ALL of God's WORD that says God's 4th commandment is now ABOLISHED and we are now commanded to worship God on Sunday in it's place.
Sunday worship is a tradition and teaching of man that has lead many to break the commandments of God. Jesus says that if we follow the traditions of man that break the commandments of God we are not following God (Matthew 15:3-9)
In times of ignorance God winks at but now calls all men every where to REPENT for the KINGDOM of HEAVEN is at HAND (Acts 17:30-31)
Hope this helps...
