Joel Osteen, good or bad

We will have to agree to disagree.I do not think anyone who proclaims to teach the Word of God should be a false teacher. They should only preach the true word of God.
Can I disagree to the point that all false doctrine should be condemned to the point of excommunication from the church? Not to me.
Rom 14:1 Him that is weak in the faith receive ye, but not to doubtful disputations.
Rom 14:2 For one believeth that he may eat all things: another, who is weak, eateth herbs.
Rom 14:3 Let not him that eateth despise him that eateth not; and let not him which eateth not judge him that eateth: for God hath received him.

Should I have nothing to do with my brethren in the Catholic church I came out of, because I certainly do no longer believe their doctrines?
Rom 14:5 One man esteemeth one day above another: another esteemeth every day alike. Let every man be fully persuaded in his own mind.
Rom 14:6 He that regardeth the day, regardeth it unto the Lord; and he that regardeth not the day, to the Lord he doth not regard it. He that eateth, eateth to the Lord, for he giveth God thanks; and he that eateth not, to the Lord he eateth not, and giveth God thanks.

What of those sweet brethren among us that do not believe in OSAS? Are they false brethren or just professing and understanding scripture different than me? Which is false? those believing in receiving the Holy Spirit today exhibited by speaking in tongues, or them that are Baptist believing gifts are done away with such as 1 Cor 13:8? Charity never faileth: but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail; whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away.

Maybe I'm just misunderstanding you.

Anyone that does not a-line with the true word of God is false teacher.

I must agree and living close to Joel's point of ministry and knowing some of the exmembers, one of them a frequent soloist when he was there, I will never be caught seated in his assembly. The heresy runs deep there according to the exmembers and I have never seen the man open and read from his Bible. He's a great motivational speaker but that is not what's needed in the Church.

The Church that I last attended had this pastor who packed the Church. It had a very, very large congregation.Everyone had a Bible. We went over every verse of the Bible and he would explain it.A man of God.I learned alot from him.He lived in a very simple 3 bedroom ranch home and drove a Toyota.

I was wondering.
What about Oprah?
Does she have much chance of getting saved?
Will we see her get born again?
What affect would that have on her life and her audience?
Do you think Joel reached her?

since I was into the new age and while not as much as oprah. soft preaching isn't effective against that. new age is very unoffensive to the lost. do your thing and don't hurt another. hmm about the way joel comes across.

I was just reading the Church of England doctrine.
Same thing.
It seems to be a virus or something.
Maybe the messages are getting mixed up somehow.

Joel did say the only way to heaven was through Jesus.

Oprah, I seem to recall, grew up going to Church and therefore might, in spite of her falling away, be saved. If she's not, she has the same chance all men have. Following the New Age doctrines will not, ever, saved her nor anyone else.

is there a video of him saying that to her.i do know that his site says that,
page one,the way he worded the many ways to jesus can confuse some. he should have said something to clarify it. otherwise I cant see much else wrong.

But it seems as though he compromised by saying "there are many paths to Jesus".
I heard what allen heard, osteen said that each path to jesus is unique indirectly.ie how you come to Christ will be different then how I came to him.

My whole point about this is that this particular OP video is a step in the right direction for Osteen.
Most responders want to focus on other issues.
