Joey Visitation Thread

Hey guys, I just thought that I would write in here really quickly before I went outside. I have some good news but mostly bad news today. First of all I had a really good visit with Joey today but he told me a couple of things that disturb me. The first thing that he told me only disturbed me a little bit. The second one had me in tears. :crying

First of all I guess that there was recently an incident that took place in prison. I guess somebody was talking smack about me and thank God that somebody was able to hold him back because otherwise he would have beat him up. I know that Joey loves me very much and is only trying to protect me but I definitely don't want him to be in trouble so I told him that even though I realize that it's rather difficult for him, to ignore it if it ever happens again.

The second story that had me in tears is I guess a friend of his was in prison because he murdered one of the men (the other one turned himself in) that brutally raped his daughter when she was a child. :sad Now I don't look at that as murder because the man loved his daughter so much and he was just doing it to protect her so he wouldn't hurt her again. He was originally sentenced to life but his case was looked at again and he's getting out in a couple of months now. :) Still, twenty years behind bars is something that he's never going to get back and you know that the justice system is really screwed up when a man gets so many years behind bars simply for just protecting his child. :crying

I am glad you had a good visit, but sorry to hear of these sad stories. Unfortunately, they are all too common and human justice is so imperfect. Thank goodness we have God, a righteous judge that see's all of this!

I knew someone and their friend, whom I remember meeting, went to jail for beating up a guy with a baseball bat (didn't even kill him) that raped his sister. He still went to jail, the guy he beat up never got charged with anything. Now he has a very hard time getting jobs.

I am glad Joey's friend is having his case reviewed and can reach freedom soon.

I am not sure where I stand with situations like this 100%, but I lean more towards the side that revenge and justice is not ours to take. If it were a situation of self-defense it would be a different thing to harm to get away and protect yourself. I cannot imagine the pain in that man's and his daughter's life. Things like this should never happen. I will be praying for him, his daughter, and Joey =)

Agreed. It's just a rather sad and difficult situation either way you look at it. I'm just glad I'm in his shoes because I honestly don't know what I would do. :sad Thank you SO much for all of your kindness, prayers, and support though. :hugIt really means a lot to me. :)

Yes, that is a nightmare no parent should ever face. =(

You're welcome! =) Always glad to pray!

That is true. Hopefully he becomes saved through Jesus Christ and turns his life around.

Amen. It's just really sad that these sickos exist. :sad It's like the Sandyhook tragedy. Somebody who looks into the eyes of a six or seven year old and pulls the trigger is not a real human being in my mind. :nonono I would be lying to you if I said that I wished God had mercy on his soul because I'm currently hoping he's burning in Hell right now!:mad R.I.P little babies! At least you're someplace where that monster can't hurt you anymore. :halo

The darkness and evil in this world is indefinitely cruel. We hear about it every day.

People like that are people, and their soul, their heart, and their mind is not in the right place. They are wasting away, spiritually dead in their rejection of God. It is okay to be angry and upset with evil as I am sure God is as well. Not everyone, unfortunately, makes a decision to believe in Christ.

I have often been reminded through the hurt and bitterness in my life that God still cares about people. He made everyone in His image. We are all so unique and valuable. Jesus died for everyone, even our enemies so they, too, may have a change of heart. Forgiveness is so powerful!

Romans 12:14-21
Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse. Rejoice with those who rejoice, and weep with those who weep. Be of the same mind toward one another; do not be haughty in mind, but associate with the lowly Do not be wise in your own estimation. Never pay back evil for evil to anyone Respect what is right in the sight of all men. If possible, so far as it depends on you, be at peace with all men. Never take your own revenge, beloved, but leave room for the wrath of God, for it is written, "VENGEANCE IS MINE, I WILL REPAY," says the Lord. "BUT IF YOUR ENEMY IS HUNGRY, FEED HIM, AND IF HE IS THIRSTY, GIVE HIM A DRINK; FOR IN SO DOING YOU WILL HEAP BURNING COALS ON HIS HEAD." Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.

Yes that is true, but it's too late for the Sandyhook shooter to repent as he took the coward's way out and shot himself.

I also forgot to mention the fact that it really sucks that the guy who beat up the guy who raped his sister went to jail and the other man never had any charges against him! That's really messed up and it just goes to show what a messed up world that we live in! :mad

Oh yeah and Joey told me that the fact I have these emotions makes me even more beautiful to him because it just proves to him that I have a heart full of compassion and he made the right choice. :)

Life would be sucky for anyone who is kidnapped by a man made establishment and thrown in a cage against there will.

When Joey gets out I'm buying you guys pizza for dinner.

Aww,.. thanks I appreciate that. :hug (That's impossible but I appreciate that all the same. Maybe we'll name one of our future children after you though. Daniel for a boy and Danielle for a girl. :biggrin)

It is definitely sad. Those criminal charges can follow you around for life making it so hard to find work.

There is much suffering in the world and increasing in every country. I would not like to be a judge. They take people's life into their hands which can ruin the person's lived ones too. S9metimes they get it wrong as you and Joey know only too well, sometimes we hope they get it right. Our minds are not like God's mind, the perfect Judge.
I pray you will soon be together to start a happy life. :hug
