Strengthening families through biblical principles.
Focus on the Family addresses the use of biblical principles in parenting and marriage to strengthen the family.
Read daily articles from Focus on the Family in the Marriage and Parenting Resources forum.
It takes all of the Bible from Genesis to Jude to understand the literal and symbolic in the book of Revelation and I have been studying this for over thirty years
This above statement you wrote is in reference to a response th1b.taylor made. Are you politely saying that if he would study his bible he could know God as well as you?
Just having fun with you dear Sister for_his_glory. I don't agree with you either, but still love you.No, I would never say that to anyone. That would be very rude of me and certainly would bring no glory to God. What I was saying is that Revelations involves many scriptures from Genesis to Jude to have Revelations unveiled to us. Bill is very knowledgeable with the scriptures even though we might not always agree.
parable maybe but it never starts out using the word parable another word for hell ---
Gehenna
(originally Ge bene Hinnom; i.e., "the valley of the sons of Hinnom"), a deep, narrow glen to the south of Jerusalem, where the idolatrous Jews offered their children in sacrifice to Molech ( 2 Chronicles 28:3 ; 33:6 ; Jeremiah 7:31 ; 19:2-6 ). This valley afterwards became the common receptacle for all the refuse of the city. Here the dead bodies of animals and of criminals, and all kinds of filth, were cast and consumed by fire kept always burning. It thus in process of time became the image of the place of everlasting destruction. In this sense it is used by our Lord in Matthew 5:22 Matthew 5:29Matthew 5:30 ; 10:28 ; 18:9 ; Matthew 23:15 Matthew 23:33 ; Mark 9:43 Mark 9:45 Mark 9:47 ; Luke 12:5 . In these passages, and also in James 3:6 , the word is uniformly rendered "hell," the Revised Version placing "Gehenna" in the margin. (See HELL; HINNOM .)
the torment was real parable or no parable they are used to make a point and the point is the rich man trusted in his wealth instead of Christ .the Jews prided them self with riches .paul wrote the Love of money is the root of all evil.. we can see the evil of loving money men use it as power

When are you going to tell me who Jesus' angel is, and we may close the separation?
Being cast into the lake of fire is called "the second death."The lake of fire is not death, but a place of eternal punishment as described in these scriptures
When are you going to tell me who Jesus' angel is, and we may close the separation?
Very good. Now do you remember what the angel says of himself? It says it is His angel and since angels are messengers of God this angel would be the messenger Christ sent to John.
Rev 1:17 I am the first and the last: 18 I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death.Very good. Now do you remember what the angel says of himself?

Uh oh, you are quoting Jesus, and not His angel. Jesus is the one in Rev 1:18 that says: I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death. What do you think?Rev 1:17 I am the first and the last: 18 I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death.
My brother in Christ, thank you for adding Rev 21:8 as I missed that as I see now I was wrong in the way I said that death and hell were the second death. It was how I was reading it that seemed to say it was. I have deleted my post # 201.Being cast into the lake of fire is called "the second death."
Rev 20:4
Then Death and Hades were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.
Rev 21:8
But the cowardly, unbelieving, abominable, murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death.
iakov the fool
I think we are getting off topic, but will answer.Uh oh, you are quoting Jesus, and not His angel. Jesus is the one in Rev 1:18 that says: I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death. What do you think?
Amen!luke 16 the rich man
23 And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom.
24 And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame.
25 But Abraham said, Son, remember that thou in thy lifetime receivedst thy good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things: but now he is comforted, and thou art tormented.
he then wanted to have somebody from the dead go warn his family ..certainly hell is not a pretty place nor is it the eternal lake of fire .
i dont find Christians in hell . i do see Christians in some type sleep with Christ.. till the Resurrection of the saints..i also will confess there many things about when exactly we go to heaven.. paul did write to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord
And thank you for demonstrating Christian humility so well!My brother in Christ, thank you for adding Rev 21:8 as I missed that as I see now I was wrong in the way I said that death and hell were the second death. It was how I was reading it that seemed to say it was. I have deleted my post # 201.

"Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth." (I believe that is the restored earth after His return.)
i have read some time back this brimstone is a sulfur that keeps burning . while i have never preached on hell for a subject i have mentioned . folks need to be made aware of the results of not having eternal life . when the Lost stand before the white throne judgment .this is the last thing they will hear depart from me.shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.

i have a bro who is a minister also he went and talked to a elderly man about Jesus. the man told him he use to go to church use to attend revivals and rejected the calling of the Lord. he words was i no longer hear that Voice . how sad it would be to no longer hear God and know he was speaking to your heart ..the old hymn rescue the perishing care for the dying . we have to reach out in Love
this was several years ago he has passed since then the Bible warns us not to harden our heartsIt could be that God was still calling him, but he became deaf to Gods call as many do. I couldn't even imagine life without God because I know if I would have turned a deaf ear I would have killed myself many years ago...................Praise you Jesus for never giving up on me even though I walked away many times.
