Just have to pay attention..

I believe God is always working, performing small miracles in our everyday lives. The problem is that people do not recognize the acts for what they are. Saying things like "oh, that was lucky" or "that was strange".

Example: recently a family member fell off of a ladder, he is in his 70s. His foot slipped and he grabbed the ladder and it twisted around, so did he, the ladder fell and he fell on top of it. He managed to get to about 4 foot from the ground before the actual fall. He landed on his back and cracked some vertebrae but he is fine. That may not sound like a miracle but.....if he had not twisted around on the ladder, or had fallen the other direction he would have fell into a concrete entrance to his basement, which is several feet deep...and the ground actually slopes toward the concrete so he should have fallen in that direction.

Sometimes I think we just don't pay close enough attention to see what is going on, and give credit where it is due.

I ask that each of you pay attention for at least the next few days and see what you can SEE.

Why Jesus Used Stories to Teach

10 The followers came to Jesus and asked, “Why do you use these stories to teach the people?”
11 Jesus answered, “Only you can know the secret truths about God’s kingdom. Those other people cannot know these secret truths. 12 The people who have some understanding will be given more. And they will have even more than they need. But those who do not have much understanding will lose even the little understanding that they have. 13 This is why I use these stories to teach the people: They see, but they don’t really see. They hear, but they don’t really hear or understand. Matthew 13:10-13 ERV

Thank you for sharing this.
I know scripture but have a really hard time remembering where to find specific ones that relate. I would like to blame this on aging but I have always been that way.

Me, too. E-sword search is great if I word and spell everything just right. So I often end up doing a google search like 'paul said, and something I can remember from the scripture' it always works. :wink
