'your house is left unto you DESOLATE.'

Jesus spoke these words to the leaders, the ones who were responsible for the judgments that came upon the nation of Israel. He turned and left to never return to the temple again before they crucified Him with the help of the Gentiles, both being equally guilty.

They rejected the Messiah for the nation of Israel. They chose the "old" not wanting the "new".

Now since the cross we stand as individuals, either rejecting or receiving Him. We were all "desolate houses" at one time. But now He lives in the temple He has established in each of us.
We always need to obey Him, but when we don't we have a Mediator, Himself who died for us.

Why then did Christ say in Matt. 18...

[15] Moreover if thy brother shall trespass against thee, go and tell him his fault between thee and him alone: if he shall hear thee, thou hast gained thy brother.

[16] But if he will not hear thee, then take with thee one or two more, that in the mouth of two or three witnesses every word may be established.

[17] And if he shall neglect to hear them, [[tell it unto the church:]] but if he neglect to hear the church, let him be unto thee as an heathen man and a publican.

[18] Verily I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever ye shall loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.

I would think these are instructions for the apoatles. But I will say to you that before Jesus died and arose, the old covenant was still in effect and Jesus never stepped outside of the intent of the Mosiac Law. He sure made some of the legalistic priest mad though didn't He?? :)

actually he never broke the torah. he did it all. what he broke was the rabbinical extra junk that the Pharisees added.

Never did Christ change! Heb. 13:8 + Jehovah God as seen in Mal. 3:6
And if the verse of Matt. 23:1-2 is understood, it has DOCUMENTED facts seen there!

--Elijah

PS: 1 John 2:7 tells us that the legality of the Lords character is still the same extended ROYAL LAW OF LIBERTY!

Yes, praise God, He is always the same!! :)
That was really His signature on the Mosaic Covenant and it is really His signature on the New Covenant. A better one, per God.

So do you think the new covenant is better than the old?

"Thy rod and thy staff they comfort me." It's good to know one has a Father who cares. :)

Surely! The Holy Spirit was limited with reaching out to every person until Christ had finished with His side of the deal. (see John 20:17)
And then! Christ has a faithful witness everywhere!

How is this disobedience among you expressed?

From the tree in the garden! (came all else)

--Elijah

Not everything is disobedience, so what beliefs or actions do you believe are accursed and pollute those around you?

If everything is not disobedience when it measures up to the Lords Law? ;) If not, then it is OBEDIENCE!

And the first disobedient act came from Eve believing the serpent before God. (Gen. 3:4)

And how did that lie put God in second place below satan? Christ's Word puts it this way....

(Matt. 22:37-40)
[35] Then one of them, which was a lawyer, asked him a question, tempting him, and saying,
[36] Master, which is the great commandment in the law?

[37] Jesus said unto him, [[Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.]]

[38] This is the [[first and great]] commandment.

[39] And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
[40] On these two commandments hang all the law [[and the prophets.]]

--Elijah

PS: And it is satan who is the liar that says that it is FINISHED! (+ much more!)

Well, I guess Jesus didn't use all caps.

Jhn 19:30 - When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, It is finished: and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost.

Here is another thought. It seems Jesus utilizes those who aren't exactly of the 'one true church' in the campaign against antichrist.

Luk 9:50 - And Jesus said unto him, Forbid [him] not: for he that is not against us is for us.

Which refers back to:

2Ki 6:16 - And he answered, Fear not: for they that [be] with us [are] more than they that [be] with them.

2Ki 6:16 - And he answered, Fear not: for they that [be] with us [are] more than they that [be] with them.

Genesis 15:5
And he brought him forth abroad, and said, Look now toward heaven, and tell the stars, if thou be able to number them: and he said unto him, So shall thy seed be.
Revelation 7:9 After this I beheld, and, lo, a great multitude, which no man could number, of all nations, and kindreds, and people, and tongues, stood before the throne, and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, and palms in their hands;
1 John 4:4 Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is He that is in you, than he that is in the world.

Any of these ones are NOT with complete Knowledge!
SO: What more can the Holy Spirit demand than to USE the truth that they are given?

John 10
[16] And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice; and there shall be one fold, and one shepherd.

But surely these ones do not have all of the Truth whey they had died! But were Faithful when they died to keep the Truth that they held to.
Rom. 2:14-15 as Inspiration states...
[14] For when the Gentiles, which have not the law, do by nature the things contained in the law, these, having not the law, are a law unto themselves:
[15] Which shew the work of the law written in their hearts, their conscience also bearing witness, and their thoughts the mean while accusing or else excusing one another

This Law was Given them as Acts 5:32 was promised! (OBEDIENCE)

--Elijah

  • Act 5:32 says the Holy Spirit (not the Law) is given to them that obey God.
  • Rom 2:14 says the Gentiles were NOT given the Law.
  • Act 10:45 says the Gentiles were given the Holy Spirit. This gift of the Holy Spirit also came before water baptism.
  • Therefore it is possible to obey God and be given the Holy Spirit without ever being subject to Moses' Law.

Which ones have complete knowledge?

:yes

Acts 5:32 documents...
[32] And we are his witnesses of these things; and so is also the Holy Ghost, whom God hath given to them that obey him.
(No Obedience='s NO Holy Spirit)

Rom. 2:14 + 15 documents...

There are a couple more, but you have these two all botched up, so what is the use??? (but hey, I still love you, huh?)
