Luke 5:17-26 NIV

In this passage Jesus forgives a paralyzed man's sins.
The Pharisees call it blasphemy because only God can forgive sins.
Jesus then heals the man to prove he is God.

In this and many other passages Jesus says and proves he is God.
How Jehovah's Witnesses explain it all away, I don't know.
But if you have doubts about him being God, then you are closer to being a Jehovah's Witness than you are a Christian.

Those are some good scriptures to use, however I don't answer my door any longer when they come. I just hope and pray that the Holy Spirit will tell them somehow that they have a false belief.

I used to be a JW now im devoted to Christ. He is rarely mentioned among JWs . They also believe the governing body ie watchtower society is the mediator to God and you cannot get to God except through them

They do not believe Jesus and God are equal right?

They come to my neighborhood quite often, although I haven't seen them in a while. Before I knew that they were so different I let them in my house because they said all they wanted to do was have Bible study. They even said my version of the Bible was ok to use. The more we talked the stranger their doctrine started to get, especially the view on hell. Then they kept insisting that I give them my phone number and set up a Bible study time for next week. They really put a lot of pressure on people it seems.

I always approach them when i see them on the street and share the love of Christ no need for throwing their doctrines in their face.

I discussed it with you awhile back, and defended the qualitative interpretation of the Greek. You were then banned and I therefore didn't discuss the topic again.

I certainly remember actually having a somewhat in depth discussion on the matter though, and even a respectful one.

I think the conclusion (as most discussions end with) was simply agree to disagree. :)
In your discussion of John 1:1c (ESV) and the Greek grammar behind it, did you discuss the Granville Sharp rule of Greek grammar? http://www.theopedia.com/Granville_Sharps_rule#note-0

Sharp's Rule does not apply in any way to John 1:1!!

Maybe you are thinking of Colwell's disputed "Rule" or the "Qualitative Rule."
Thanks teddy,

That was my error in suggesting Granville Sharp's rule, it is Colwell's rule. See HERE. However, there are exceptions to the rule and it might not be wise to use it to affirm Christ's deity in John 1:1.

Not only are there exceptions, but in all of John's writings all proper examples of "Colwell's Constructions" are indefinite (such as John 6:70).

How could a mediator between God and His children be a False Prophet?
