KEEPING THE FAITH

You know I'm sure it's mainly the depression talking.....
But I really just want to say screw it and cut off all unnecessary communication with the rest of the world. Show up for work and maybe a scant few other functions, and that's it. Otherwise be at home and stop puting myself out there.
Just saw this.
We all feel like this at times.
It's easier, that's for sure.
Yeah. A man's home is his castle.
But if we locked ourselves up, we'd starve to death. In more ways than one.

Thank you, and success to you, too, in the new, born again life you have received through your faith in Christ.
I am of the other sheep Jethro Jn 10:16. But in all honesty I am quite thankful I was not chosen. It is a tremendous responsibility with great sacrifice, but I honestly respect all those who were chosen and accepted it like yourself. If I were chosen I would have accepted it as well, but even though I know that all creation will be satisfied at that time Ps 145:16 we humans were designed to live on the earth, so I am glad to remain here.

You are not born again?

I'm sorry Highway
Not following along well.

What do You think it means to be saved?
Thanks
Saved is the same as salvation maam. It means receiving the gift of everlasting life that God gives. I find it to be an extremely misunderstood word by people. Thanks for asking, I too have asked that very same thing and was surprised with the responses I received. I sometimes wonder how people can communicate since people see different meanings for what might be considered a simple word. Combine that with a sentence of 10 or more words, how can one communicate? I suppose that is a miracle in itself.

Regardless of what one thinks eternal life is, Jesus says everyone who believes has it now - John 5:24. We have it now in the presence of the Holy Spirit inside of us. We will enter into the fullness of it at the end of the age.

No sir, I am just one of the other sheep as most of us Christians are.
Then you can not see nor enter into the kingdom of God. You are a natural person who has no inheritance. You are no better than one under the law for whom there is no justification. Law brings wrath and condemnation, not salvation. You are lost. You are not a sheep. You are a goat.

You understand it as such, but only those of the first resurrection have eternal life at this time. We cannot see them to confirm, as they were resurrected to heaven. No one on earth at this time has been judged as having eternal life. We disagree Jethro.

Not one person that Jesus said that to continued living eternally, every one of them died. Many of them however, did receive it when they were resurrected though. Interestingly they have even one step above life eternal, they have been granted immortality.

You either have rejected or do not understand the Kingdom sir. As I stated, I believe I am one of the other sheep, I know I am not one of the little flock, but I am fully aware that I am not the judge as well, and that everyone is righteous in his own eyes. Pro 21:2

That's a lot of mixed up theology, HW.

The resurrection of the dead has not occurred yet. That happens when Christ returns (1 Corinthians 15:21-24). The only exception that I'm aware of being that of the saints who bodily rose from the dead in the moment Jesus gave up his spirit on the cross and the veil was torn in two (Matthew 27:52-53).

And John 5:24 is very clear that the person who is believing has (Present tense) eternal life, and has (Perfect tense) crossed over from death to life and will not (present tense) be condemned (as long as he keeps believing, of course). These are not things that haven't happened yet. But, surely, there are literal events connected to these present tense, already completed promises that have yet to be fulfilled. The redemption of our bodies themselves being one of those events.

Eternal life is a quality of life, not just a life that never ends. Everyone who believes receives a deposit of the Holy Spirit in which is contained the abundance and overflow of this quality of life.

You may very well be correct Jethro as it is difficult to understand. We believe it has happened, but cannot prove it. The Bible clearly states there will be a first resurrection, and like the term you used these will be "saints", but those saints you referred to as being resurrected were not them, since Revelation was penned much later. Not only that but they were not saints, since the first baptism of holy spirit had not yet happened either. Rev 20:6; Acts 2:1,2 I am ignorant as to why the Bible calls them saints/holy ones.

I am not educated enough as to the time span of the account, like you to me it appears to be during Jesus' actual return, but the shepherds of the faith state otherwise, this is going to be one of those things that will be revealed in the future, because our eyes have not beheld it as happening. What we put into our publications are subject to error as only the Bible was inspired of God, not our publications.
