KEEPING THE FAITH

It's not a book for a special group of God's people. It's a book to born again believers. Everyone who has received the Spirit of God in justification is born again.

Do you see what you just penned Jethro? Just like you said, much of the Greek Scriptures was in fact penned to them. The entire Bible was authored by Jehovah, penned by His people, for His people sir.

And so just as the lost are lost right now, so the saved are saved right now, too.

If you believe and have received the Spirit you are saved, right now. The goal now is to keep believing and remain saved. The attempt to become a saved person is over. Now what's left to do is live as the saved person you are, not try to become one. If anybody is still trying to become a saved person they're either living under bad teaching or they really haven't made peace with God through justification yet.

1Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ Romans 5:1
We differ on what the Biblical definition of saved is, Jethro.

I will answer this for the sake of others. Those who keep the faith over the course of their lives are not going to be those whose behavior always reflected everything Jesus did, lacking everything he did not do. The decision to measure (everyone else) by that standard reflects a harsh judgemental kind of christianity lacking the elements of a living relationship.

Good marriages that “keep the faith promised on the wedding day” are not those comprised of perfect behaviour. Anyone in relationship knows this standard is unrealistic and the measurement of a relationship where the “faith was kept” is not a list of rules. It’s more dynamic with many facets.
Those who keep the faith over the course of their lives are not going to be those whose behavior always reflected everything Jesus did
No question about it Dorothy, couldn't have said it better myself.

All believers, having received the mercy of God in salvation, have now become the people of God:

10Once you were not a people, but now you are the people of God; once you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy. 1 Peter 2:10

No, I think we differ on when a person is saved.

Everybody who is presently believing is presently saved - 1 Corinthians 15:1-2. This is just plain, Biblical fact. No special interpretation or insight needed to see it. It plainly says that.

Time will tell Jethro.
Yes, time will tell.

Like Sarah, when we see the promised son growing inside of us in the ever-increasing traits of the Spirit we know with certainty that we are participants in the promise and that God is keeping that promise.

To see the traits and fruit of the Spirit in your life is to know that you have the Holy Spirit in you and are presently saved. That's how one's calling and election is confirmed.

Yes sir, God's people are definitely referred to as believers in the Bible.

We sure do Rev 20:5
The believer is not waiting to become a saved person. He is waiting for the redemption of his body:

23Not only that, but we ourselves, who have the firstfruits of the Spirit, groan inwardly as we wait eagerly for our adoption as sons, the redemption of our bodies. 24For in this hope we were saved; but hope that is seen is no hope at all. Who hopes for what he can already see? 25But if we hope for what we do not yet see, we wait for it (the redemption of our bodies) patiently. Romans 8:23-25

As I'm showing you, believers are very much saved, now. Not waiting to become saved. The only thing left to happen for the saved person is the glorification of the physical body and literal, physical entry into the kingdom of God.

The only indeterminate thing for the saved, born again believing person is whether or not they are going to keep believing and remain a saved, born again person. Some churches believe you really can stop believing and be lost. Some believe the truly born again person can't stop believing. But regardless of what one believes about that it is clear in scripture that one must continue to believe in order to continue to be saved. Our personal theologies about whether or not we can really stop believing don't change that fact.

Obviously you do not understand what born again means, and why they are chosen Jethro.
I understand it quite well. I is born again. I have a new life. I understand perfectly why God calls it being born again. And this new life confirms my calling and my election. I'm not special. Everybody who has received the forgiveness of God in Christ by having faith in that forgiveness, not working for it, have been born again.

Fantastic to hear Jethro. I wish you the best success in your assignment sir.

What actually happened when you are born again?
