It doesn't seem you two like one another very much. You both seem like nice guys. I bet if you were living in close proximity, you'd be best friends.

It's also evidence of shallow roots that got pulled up easily, not just not being saved at all.

He turned on me when I got off the fence and went non-OSAS. :lol

Oh, by the way, I've been in his town many times. I used to live within about 40 miles of him, or so. I still have relatives there and I keep threatening to come visit him if I'm around that way again.

NOSAS side, it's not like a person can lose their salvation, as it's lost and can't be found, but in a way that you give it back. The Bible says that people love the darkness more than the light, there are people who hold the truth in unrighteousness as Romans speaks of, besides all the warnings and beware that we are not cut off as the Israelites were.

Since the OP has been successfully hijacked, may I ask you, Jethro and Jesse, a personal question?

This isn't meant to further they OSAO hijack, but I'm curious, personally, do each one of you actually believe you personally can lose you salvation, this isn't meant to debate whether it's true or not, ...personalize it, ...do YOU think you can/will lose your salvation, and if you answer yes then please explain the mortal fear you live in anticipating/dreading the moment it will arrive.

I don't live in fear or dread or terror. I'm at peace and have joy, am content for the most part. In fact, it's not something I even think about usually, it's just Jethro brought it up. I think it's silly to argue over, we, as believers, have more important matters to discuss - like how can we show Christ to others.

With that being said, I just know it's possible for myself or any other believer to be tempted, fall into sin, become absorbed with sin, practice sin and eventually turn completely away from God. It's not like one day you wake up and say forget it I don't want it, it's over time. The heart can grow hard and bitter. Sin leads to death. The Bible says that people love darkness more than the light.

Jethro and I are best friends.
If that has changed, I wasn't told about it.
Our differences always come down to OSAS.

Me personally? I think I've come to the point, spiritually, where I could not neglect or abuse my salvation to the point of losing it. But part of that maturing is now humbly acknowledging that there are potential trials and sufferings that I may not stand up very well under. When I first got saved I felt bullet proof.

Not that Christ is somehow insufficient, but that I may be tested to the point of exposing a greater love for self than for Christ and the forgiveness of sins I have received. Can't conceive of that right now--and I have surely been tested--but, as I say, all that testing has shown me I need to be humble, not arrogant, about my salvation and my standing in Christ.

It's about whether or not a person will continue in their faith in the forgiveness of God and love for him. I know a person very close to me who had the gift of tongues (I don't) and who 15 years into their salvation decided to take a break from the Christian faith because of the demands of the faith and unbelief. That was 13 years ago. As of two years ago they've not come back. I've been hoping and praying they'll come back, and maybe they have, but we have not talked about it, so I don't know if they did or not. Spiritual discussions were not ending well so I stopped talking to them about it.
 
I'm pretty sure we've settled the Kundalini thing.

I think we decided it's okay to act up....or was it it's not okay to act up? Oi Vey! I'll reread the thread.
