Uh,..ok,..well to be honest I'm not all that offended really. :) I haven't really gone fishing since I was a kid. I went one time when I was an adult and I didn't catch a thing but I still had fun. And to be rather frank, a fish is better than none at all right? :lol I have heard this somewhere else before and let me just tell you what a girl like me with a very little brain has come to understand; it's not about winning or losing, it's about how you play the game. :biggrin
 
Oh and one more thing, I'm already well aware that Jim Thome has retired from the Indians but he was still one of their best players and represents his team, Cleveland, all of Ohio, and baseball itself. (still not stating what city in Ohio I'm from due to safety reasons) :biggrin
 
There are only two sports worth mentioning and that is NASCAR, which is not a sport, but a way of life starting 2/18/18 :biggrin and my Sportsman 450 trailing through the woods with hubby, he has a 500.............come on warm weather :yes. Not sure if canoeing is a sport, but love doing that and need to get our own this year. Not so much into ball sports, but like watching gymnastics and figure skating even though I can do neither. These are just a few of my favorite things.

Really? Where's Julie Andrews when you need her? Dang nappit! Now you got that song stuck in my head! :lolBy the way, I lIke NASCAR too, but nearly not as much as I love monster trucks and BMX. After seeing the video that I posted, I definitely want to go to a monster truck show. BMX is cool but I have seen that in real life twice before. Anyway here, I just couldn't resist. I know you can't view the video but, anyway...

### about those one inch fish! One of the best days I ever had fishing was better than any Deep Sea Fishing I ever did was with about six kids, all under ten that wanted to catch fish and to have fried fish for breakfast. All they were catching was perch and they were 3 inches or less. Sun Fish here is not a Sport Fish here and therefore is unregulated and after abou8t 10 minute and catching and releasing better than twenty, I remembered my7 Grandmother's solution, found the two one gallon Jalapeño jars in my trunk. The sun was just lighting the Eastern Sky and the trees around us were over eighty foot tall and close so we had better than an hour before the sun could get to the jars to heat then up. I put #1 hooks on every line and swapped them to bait rolled from the sliced Bread I had brought in case we missed breakfast becau8se they were biting to slowly.

with the kids all knowing how to make the bread into bait, I filled the jars with lake water and placed them in the very shallow water, one on each end before the second and the fifth fishermen and all could reach and place the one to three inch fish in the jars. By seven fifteen we had caught over a hundred and fifty of the little Perch and I sat them in front of me and I gutted and in the lake, rinsed them before placing them on the aluminum foil bowl seated on the ice in the drink chest. we walked back to the Lake Cabin and gt there just before the last people were getting up. Remember, no scaling, just gutted. As the adults drank their coffee and the older kids their OJ or milk and while the young ones bragged they had caught over one hundred fish, better than anyone...ever, I fried the little fish til they were turning light brown on the edges. (that fries even the bones)

I let the women have the kitchen and after their grandpa tasted one, to insure the bones were cooked and would not stick in their throats, I let the young fisher persons feast on their booty from their own fishing adventure. That was 42 years ago and they still remember. I'll bet some of them have taught the same lesson to their young but remember, if you're angling and catching the little Trash Fish, save them for real fish Chips!

I once was proud of all my local sports teams until the lot of them, until each of them from the Houston Oilers to the stros

I beg to differ as It was Earnhardt Sr. that taught Jeff all he knew and no one will ever replace him. You either loved him or hated him. I think I will go for Larson now the Junior retired.

I was thinking of that song after I wrote this :lol. Monster trucks are cool and if you ever go to one make sure it's outside as the fumes really get to you when indoors, or at least take something to cover your nose and mouth.

Ok, cool,.. nice to see another chick into them. :cool A lot of people associate them with boy stuff but I really think that it's fun for the whole entire family.:)

I'm such a Tomboy at times and no longer a chick, but getting to be that feisty old hen :lol

Well, I was going to come on here and ask who's a fan of putt-putt and hunting because it was being talked about in another topic but,.. even though I am not a hunter myself, I've never been closer than doing some hunting of my own. Really sad news today for Indians fans and the sport of baseball itself. II'll be writing more about it in Hot Topics if I can get my laptop to work, but after more than fifty years the removal of the famous Chief Wahoo off the Indians' uniform is set to take place next year. I just thought that I would give the heads up to anybody reading this that didn't know already.

You are correct about that, but they are golf and long-distance running, both of which are spiritual disciplines to a far greater degree than sitting in a mega-church. Since the age of 10, I have hit approximately one zillion golf balls and will never tire of it. Ditto for running, although at age 68 my pace would be more accurately described as jogging. Either activity can put me into a meditative trance for hours. I believe all solitary, demanding sports can be spiritual disciplines - Zen and the Art of Archery, Running and Being and Golf In the Kingdom are three classics in this vein.

I used to be a rabid baseball and football fan who could quote you arcane statistics about everyone who had ever played for the Milwaukee Braves. (Warren Spahn - 363 victories. Eddie Matthews - 512 home runs. Joe Adcock - 4 home runs and a double off the centerfield wall in one game. Milwaukee Braves Trivial Pursuit, anyone?) Beginning at about the age of 40, I have found that my interest in team sports - which are microcosms of Everything Wrong With the World Today - has declined almost to the vanishing point.

Mega Churches are not in my taste as they do not sit well with me. If I can't meet and talk to the Pastor than I will have none of that church. Actually had that experience with John Hagee before he built his mega church when I lived in San Antonio many years ago. Golf I can take it or leave it, but do like mini golf. Running, never saw the point in it as a good walk does the body just as well as Spiritual meditation I get out of walking. Being 63 and having both knees and hips replaced there are many things I can not get involved with anymore, but seek out that which I can still do to certain degrees of activity.
 
Here's a few new videos for you to watch. I was recently thinking about back when I was still in Girl Scouts we used to go here and I really enjoyed it a lot. :)





And today might be Superbowl Sunday, but I prefer watching the Puppybowl instead. After all, who doesn't enjoy adorable little puppies around and playing with each other?




Of course, even though I don't personally know anybody including me who doesn't love puppies, the all new Kittenbowl really steals my heart since I'm a cat lover first. And Tessa I know that you will really enjoy this as well if you're reading this and are able to watch it. :biggrin
