I liked your other avatar better. We're on a mission from God...lol.
The whole nephilim, fallen angel interpretation of genesis 6 discussions never fare well here on the forum because it shakes people up to their cores. I know, I've been in them and seen them closed. People get mad at even the thought of fallen angels touching our women, and rightly so too. :angry
In a way, I'm almost afraid not to even consider it, because I've heard that deception is a tool of the enemy, and I would like to take the Word of God's advice at least, so I better keep an open mind about it...because that's what it says.
Hosea 4:6
6 My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children./
That's scary, to me. Make no mistake about it though, I'm being perfectly dogmatic when I discuss nephilim. There's no way in the world that I could say with a certainty that the Angel view is or isn't true, I wasn't there...but still,
Proverbs 25:2
It is the glory of God to conceal a thing: but the honour of kings is to search out a matter./
The disciples came to Jesus privately, and asked about the end times...The very first words out of Jesus's mouth was, don't be deceived...
Matthew 24:3-4
3 And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world?
4 And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you.../
That's a warning. Straight from the (God's) mouth, lol. That tells me that I better take heed. If I believe that the bible is the true and inerrant Word of God (I do), then I can't pick and choose what to believe in it.
I may not like it, but it deserves serious consideration because that's what the text says. So I guess, study to show myself approved is in order, lol, instead of a knee jerk.
Proverbs 18:13
13 He that answereth a matter before he heareth it, it is folly and shame unto him.../
I dunno. I'm afraid to believe it's true, and afraid not to, lol.
Before, when it was discussed, only weak metonyms were offered on the passage and it's intended meaning.
The op got me thinking about it...I'm bored...
