1. Many say they are built upon God’s Word, is this true?
2. How are we built upon God’s Word?
3. What Foundation are we as Christians suppose to be built on?
4. Many say all you have to do to be saved is say “I believe in Jesus Christ” now the preacher says you are saved, is this true?
5. Many use Ephesians 2:8-9 as an excuse to disavow or discard the true Message of Repentance, Water Baptism, and the Baptism of the Holy Ghost, because they assert our Salvation comes about through Faith alone, and works are not part of Salvation.
Is this True?
Jesus speaking in Matthew 7:21 (KJV) Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.
Even the Lord Jesus says you can say I believe all day long, but if you will be saved you are going to have to DO. You are going to have to lay a Foundation to build your Spiritual House upon. The Lord verifies this in Matthew 7:24-27.
The Preachers and Teachers that proclaim our Salvation is by Faith alone are deceivers, because they are teaching “Half Truth’s therefore are using the same technic, satan used on Eve in the Garden.
Matthew 7:22-23 (KJV)
22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.
Verse 23 — What an astounding statement by the Lord of Heaven and Earth— even though they said Lord we Prophesied in Your name, cast out devils in Your name, Done many wonderful works in Your Name, the Lord’s response, “I don’t know who you are, not only that He said “I NEVER KNEW YOU.
This brings us to the next question: These people thought they were right with God, Why did the Lord say to these religious people, I Never Knew You?
Matthew 7:24-27 (KJV) Tells us why
24 Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock: (Foundation) — and as a result verse 25 comes into play.
25 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock. (Foundation)
26 And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand:
27 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it.
WHY? Because it had No Foundation.
Why did the Lord not know them, Because they had No Foundation. Their Foundation was incomplete. All they had done to this point was Hear with no action. According to the main doctrine of the Modern Day Church all you have to do is say I believe. (Faith) is an action word: Faith Moved Noah, Faith Moved Abraham, Faith Moved David, but unless Noah had got up and built the Ark, they would have drowned like all the other ones. Abraham Believe God, but had he not walked the distance, the Children of Israel would have no homeland. Had David not picked out stones for Goliath, he would have died on the battle field. When Faith is not accompanied by works, just like James said, Faith without works is dead. These preachers and teachers that say all you have to do is believe are deceivers, for they are teaching half-truth.
When we move into a house, there are many things that had to be inspected and approved that was required to build the house. Number one is the Foundation. The foundation has several ingredients in it, Water, Sand, Gravel, Concrete Mix, steel rebar. If anyone of these ingredients are left out the Foundation is incomplete and will never be approved by the inspector.
The same applies to our Spiritual Foundation:
3 Times in the New Testament it is mentioned we are a Spiritual House, or the Temple of God, or the House of God, knowing this we must understand, we must have a Foundation, most churches say all you need to do to be saved is say I believe, and they say this is my foundation.
But that is not what Peter preached on the Day of Pentecost, when he was asked by the people who were convicted in their hearts from the message Peter preached, they asked: men and brethren what must we do, Acts 2:37, Peter standing up with the other 11 Apostles they were backing Peter up in what he had preached said, you must Repent, and be Baptized in water the Name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. Acts 2:38
So here is the Foundation the Church must be built on: Faith, Repentance, water Baptism in the Name of Jesus Christ and the infilling of the Holy Ghost just like they received in Acts 2. If either one of these ingredients are left out, our Foundation is incomplete. And we will end up just like Matthew 7:26-27 speaks of.
