she's a trooper. managed to do some volunteer work thru the pain, before the ocular stuff started. we usually have sunday meals together, at their place, but...

i told my dad to tell her to take it easy and i'll cook for myself, at my place. -sigh- i wanted to see them today, but...compassion and maturity, ya know....

i wish she'd take something besides the drugstore stuff, or...go to urgent care (they have good insurance). but...no. im honestly kinda worried, because...wow. 3 days. to me, that's epic.

please pray for an end to this migraine's reign of terror. thanks. :-)

thanks, y'all. :-)

i do hope it gets better for her. I don't understand migraines...I think maybe she's in mourning over the 2 house dogs, 1st they had to have the boy dog put down...then the girl dog...

and she was their care taker, especially after she retired. the boy dog was -severely- abused before we got him. people later told dad and mama some of the horror he was subjected to...such needless cruelty. anyway...

he had a good life with my parents, but he had mood swings, agitation sometimes, he even had seizures every now and then. :-( but they did what they could, he lived a good life, and...yeah. i miss him, too.

the girl dog was always well treated, spunky, vibrant...and mama was very, very good to her when she got old(er), and I think...I think she misses her, so much. life can be painful, at times. :-(

in good news, they have outdoor cats, right? 2 of them. a new one just kinda...moved in, and as much as my parents act as if they don't care for him...

i kind of think he popped up on the scene just in the nick of time. :-)

yeah...i don't get her reluctance to get into either the family doctor an urgent care. they have good insurance+adequate resources, and...pain like that...I'd be begging for an injection of pain go away. :-)

saw her today, she told me if it continues she -will- go to a -medical professional- , which...means it must be horrendous. it was gone, then it started coming back. blah.

thanks, y'all. :-)

I hope your mother feels better soon.

Many people had good success with Midrin, until the DEA insisted on expensive trials for it. Nobody could afford to do the new research on an inexpensive generic med.

My wife suffers migraines, sometimes they're so bad she vomits. She's tried prescription stuff, but prefers Excedrine Migraine with the red label. Sometimes nothing helps. We found that my wife's generic thyroid med contributed to the migraines so she switched to name brand. Has your mom's routine or meds or anything changed recently? Praying for her.

ok. she seems better. i think its stress, an inclination towards (severe) migraines, compounded by allergies.

way back when, they had an effective (for mama...) Rx for allergies on the market...then the FDA yanked it or...something. I dunno. no more, at any rate.

so, now, she has to dose up as-needed...as in when these sorts of massive headaches hit and linger, on and on...

thankfully, she's retired and has medical coverage, so she's treated for all her probs (not many, just a couple maintenance Rx...) and can relax, etc. not ever great fun to suffer thru such agony, but...

could be worse. God is merciful. She swore to me that if it continues, she'll get in with a medical professional, stat. :-)

They did pull Excedrin Migraine from the shelves a few years ago for same reason you stated, Sent everyone scrambling for a while. But, it's back on the shelves now. Is this the one she was taking too? People swear by it. My wife was so relieved when they brought it back.

no...she's an advil lady...

it was some Rx for allergies, way back when. was available, worked wonders...now its gone, gone. :-(

That's too bad,.. I know how you guys feel because the exact same thing happened with my marbles. :lol However the only difference is that I don't really miss them all that much. :wink

In all seriousness though headaches suck. :( I really hope and pray that she gets better soon. :)

Sorry to hear she still has the headaches, will keep praying, hope she sees a doc soon.

thanks, y'all!

mama's doing quite well, now. it sounds like it was allergies+a tendency towards (severe) migraine that = all this fun (note the sarcasm). today, she was all sortsa chipper, just itchy...again: allergies. :-(

thanks for the prayers. I -am- thankful. I'm also thankful that they're -both- seeing their family doctor on a regular basis, and he and the nurse practitioner are taking good care of them...their labs are good...their health is good. Praise God for His mercy!

on the downside...their family doctor is going into something called 'concierge medicine.' its where each person/patient pay$ a fee to be a patient, they get a set number of appointments per year, and then I guess (hope?) they get more 1 on 1 time with the doctor. ugh. thing is...this area has a doctor shortage (all types), and this is the...I think 3rd or 4th family practice MD to do this 'concierge' thing. blah. dad's miffed...the fee is a bit much (way more than their co-pays would be, on insurance) and...what the...??? Obviously, doctors need their pay, but c'mon...non-rich people need healthcare, too. blah. :-(

ok. thanks, again. :-)
