We can never go above that of what we receive from the Holy Spirit even though many try to. I like what you said: study and act on what I already know. Sometimes we give out so much meat of Gods word that we forget those who are still on the milk and very young in the word.

Thanks. I liked the approach Rollo made for the debates and issues said with some light humor. But I do think there is a lot of confusion with regard to proper belief, above and beyond understanding, and wrong doctrines. For new or mature Christians the confusion I don't think really goes away entirely. At best people learn to leave some things alone or pick a side on some of the issues and make it their ministery for a while.

We need to not be paralyzed to not live and act on our faith, but we also need to keep learning and studying.

Pick one? Only one?

Ok let's start with the Great Commission our calling as Christians and what we do in the world around us. On the other hand that's a little foggy. Is it still foggy? Fog is water can you be babitized in fog? It's past 7:45 AM here but if it is foggy lets just stay in and maybe study. That'll help when we do go out.

In or out what do we do? Faith or works? Well faith works doesn't it. So no mater what we have faith and trust in God. Trust in God's wisdom more then man's wisdom. More then we trust our own wisdom. Doctrine and study and knowing what's right and what's not sounds like a lot of work. Almost more then just following the parts we already understand and walking out in the foggy morning and spreading our great commission to the world from what we already know in God's word.

Talk and pray. Tongues, unless you know sign language, and pray any way you know how, silently or out loud. But expecially pray the LORD's prayer. Pray always, but pray more in the holy holidays. The days we celibate our faith.

Hmmm a lot to think on. Do I go out? In the mist of the world with my own inner fog and act in the way I already know God called us to be? Or stay home and study, to know better how God wants us to believe, and how God wants us to represent Him in our Great commission when we go out. I think both, study and act on what I already know. That's what we need to do.

Hi NNS
I always like how you think.

When I met up with Jesus many years ago, I had never read the bible. I had heard verses in church, you know. They were never really explained either.

But once I knew Him, it was almost not necessary to have ever read the bible! I immediately knew what the Lord expected of me. I knew if I was doing His will or not - in a general sense. Today they call this WWJD: What would Jesus do? And yes, I did think along those terms.

When Jesus gave his great commission in Mathew 28:19-20 He was speaking specifically to the Apostles.
He didn't mean that each and every one of us should go out and baptize people or teach what He commanded. There are the gifts of the Holy Spirit; these are gifts - teaching, for example.

So I'm not too sure I agree with some here who feel that they come here to teach the rest of us. Is this their calling? Is this a true ministry of theirs? How could I know? Are they a pastor? Do they have experience? Can I truly trust them?

I like to hear others opinions and I like to discuss and present my view. Take it or leave it. I'm not here to teach anybody anything. I like Jeremiah 31:34.

What I will say, however, is that we are examples of the Christian faith, we are followers of Jesus and we are witnesses to Him or a testimony to Him. And in this sense, we are also called to know what we believe and to understand our faith. This requires study. So I've studied for this reason. To give an answer should anyone ask. To try to lead them to the Lord more than to teach them anything.
1 Peter 3:15

We need faith and works. We need to know our faith - but we must do the works as Jesus commanded.
Faith without works is dead. James 2.

You said in another thread that you don't have a debate area.
That's what you called it.
Make up your mind!!

Oops! It was right here!!

I think you need to go to confession...

And what are the works of God?
John 6:28; "Then they asked him, what must we do to do the works God requires"?

"Believe in Him Whom He has Sent."

Here we go.
What does Believe mean in Greek?

It means to trust, to have faith in, to learn from, to follow, to adhere to His teachings.

Jesus told us many things we must do.
Feed the hungry,
Visit the sick,
Be humble, etc.

The gospel of Mathew tells it well.

BTW, If FHG gets a lollipop, what about the rest of us??
Sharing is also a Christianly duty...

Its interesting to note that a lot of people do those works you mentioned, yet they have not yet "believed on whom God sent".
This is known as "religious but LOST".

Started out lost on earth, ended up born again in Heaven.
In between, God gets all the glory and Jesus all the credit for doing it for me.

Im an only child, i read-study a lot, and my wife (nurse) is a Russian Jew who likes for us to go camping and play a video game named "Aion". (she can swim like a fish and speaks 5 languages). (typical Russian who was born in The Crimea when it belonged to Russia)

an audiophile is a person who is sort of obsessed on-with electronic gear that lets you "hear" or "create" music in the most perfect way possible.
You cant go to jail for being an audiophile, but you can go to debt for it, if you are not paying attention to your dollar bills..
im a affezionato of "whatever is the best"..... and this gives me an unique pov, regarding something like watching the Olympic Games.....as most people watch these "games" hoping to see their "country" win gold, but i watch them to see who the best is, in each event.
an yes, glossy black JUST LIKE onyx., yep.
Silver is to black what gold is to riches.
yes, its always in style just like good conversation and charity.

Yep, thats it.
He wants "all the music"....he wants to hear it "as it was recorded, originally".. is interested in "hi def" audio, and "hi resolution music files".

The flip side is also true. There are a lot of people who believe but don't do the works. Satan comes to mind as the leader of the pack.
