Miracles don't exist: Do not be FOOLED

Are you one of the people who claim miracles still exist? Are you one of the: 'the blind shall see', the deaf shall hear', 'the mute shall talk', 'the barren womb shall grow fertile again', etc kind of preacher??? Are you? You are mistaken. Miracles don't exist again. NO MORE SIGNS AND WONDERS. It only existed in the OT and NT days - not today.

Really? That's what they tell you. I disagree to agree with such statement made by people. I believe GOD still performs miracles. I don't take them seriously when they tell me there are no signs and wonders - no miracles. I don't believe them because they have not proved GOD. Till today GOD still performs miracles: the deaf hear, the blind see, the lame walk, the sick get healed etc.

That you are living today is a giant miracle. You drank some water and it went through the right channel is one fat miracle. You sleep and wake again is another gigantic miracle. John 3:16 is a big miracle to every believer. I believe GOD performs miracles.:D:):)

Can we define a miracle for the purposes of this thread? Most people would probably not agree that the examples you gave were 'miracles'.

Is it just something that we don't understand or is there more to it? If there is something more to it - what?

The miracles at 'Lourdes", Fatima, people pulled alive from collapsed buildings, a baby being sucked up by a tornado an flung hundreds of feet without a scratch, a car split in two when hitting a tree at high speed and no-one injured. The clinically dead waking and saying "what's for breakfast", Paul1965 being alcohol free. His miracles happen daily, we usually only hear about the big ones.

We prayed for women with cancerous tumors on her ovary.
Two days later, the doctors only found shriveled up tumors and no cancer.
That was a miracle and these things happen all the time.

It is written that in the last days there will be mockers! those who have form of godliness but deny the power of godliness.
They will come and teach a DIFFERENT JESUS, DIFFERENT SPIRIT. a different gospel.

So we now have a Holy Spirit that does nothing but finds fault, and a Jesus that no longer heals but only makes sick?

A gospel that means nothing? Salvation is a miracle!
God has not changed!
DONT BE FOOLED!

About 1930 Mom woke her mother up , needing to use the restroom, mom is nestled back in bed, Grandpa has a very uncomfortable feeling... Mary ? Mary? no response there is not only no 911 there is no phone.... There was God! As he told the story he could find no breath , he heard no heart beat, felt no pulse .... he told us, he tried the breath on the mirror nothing ! He hits his knees pleading with the Lord. Grandma lived 30 more years.... The beauty she would speak of about that time was something to hear ....

Skeptics sure, they will down play most anything , Classik is right the simple things are still miracles!

OK, you all seem to be using the 'casual use' definition of miracle - so I will keep out of it.

Casual use: A"miracle" is seen as any event that is statistically unlikely but beneficial, (such as surviving a natural disaster),....

Creation itself is a miracle. Man, earth, the heavens--it's all beyond man's comprehension and ability to duplicate. Man may think he has it all figured out but his puny finite mind can only speculate and theorize. I agree with Edward. We would see more if our hearts were not so hard. The day is coming when miracles, signs, and wonders will increase. The church will be the true church that will preach the Word with signs and wonders following. We should be living in expectation of that happening even now. I believe in miracles!

MsJo: I think it's useful to make a distinction between the signs and wonders of the Acts of the Apostles, and the situation of the church today with a completed Bible Often the Biblical accounts of signs and wonders had a Jewish context (which would also be suggestive that any future signs and wonders on earth would be linked not with the rapure of the church (1 Thessalonians 4) but with Israel.

So some believe in miracles but just not the ones the BIBLE clearly says a "believer" should do?

None of you who claim the gifts and miracles of the Holy Spirit have passed away, can prove any part of that in the scriptures. I challenge anyone to have an honest debate of that issue!

WHY? because some reject the baptism of the Holy Spirit and the power of The Holy Spirit with its "strange gifts" then some make-up false doctrines to legalize their lack of biblical power.

I find it very odd that some can have an honest view of scripture until they get to the issue of the power of God? I just do not understand the way some treat the truth of scripture when it comes to this issue?

Jesus said as clear as can be said that the works He did we would do! These gifts and works are described in detail in the GENTILE CHURCHES and being held by ALL BELIEVERS!

any honest discussion of scripture can prove this point to all who honor the Word of God? Again I challenge anyone to prove that the gifts of the Holy Spirit are not for ALL BELIEVERS, who have been baptised in the Holy Spirit.

The scriptures will prove the truth for all those who yield to scripture.

M: 1 Corinthians 13: 'they shall fail', 'they shall cease' (1 Corinthians 13.8). We have the completed Scriptures now which are sufficient authority to confirm the Gospel.

Mitspa, The years have taught me God doesn't take us all on the same walk. Some of us power walk, some enjoy the stroll, some even jog...

1 Corinthians 13:1-13

King James Version (KJV)

13 Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal.....

8 Charity never faileth: but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail; whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away.

9 For we know in part, and we prophesy in part.

10 But when that which is perfect is come, then that which is in part shall be done away.

11 When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things.

12 For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.

13 And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity.

I know in part, as seeing through a glass darkly, but when Jesus returns, I will know even as I am known. But not now. As long is there is faith, hope, and charity to witness to the gospel of Jesus, to heal the sick, to cast out evil, etc. I will believe for it.

I agree with your point Reba, and I declare that love is to be desired above all things.
I dont not attempt to condemn any for not having these things that are clearly given to all believers by the Holy Spirit.

Some of the sweatest believers I have ever met where not "spirit baptised" or manifested some of the gifts of the Spirit.
But these same gentle people operated in certain levels of the gifts. They knew things by the Spirit and spoke things by the Spirit. A good preacher who preaches the very sermon that others need to hear, are in fact operating in the gifts of the Spirit. Words of knowledge and wisdom, spoken at the appointed time are supernatural gifts.

And as it relates to a discussion on this forum, I think if some where to really see that these gifts are things that Jesus said we need and should have? A door of truth could be opened to many?
We should have those things Jesus said we should have, if a debate of scripture will free some from false doctrine? Then I hope to take the time to have that discussion?

Again I say that love is the Greatest gift Of the Holy Spirit, but it is the SAME HOLY SPIRIT, that does all these other things as well.

If one knows the love of the Holy Spirit, they need have no fear of His Gifts.
