Modest clothing

Ya know if you are shaped like that a lot of men will still have lustful thoughts when you're wearing jeans and a grey pullover.
Absolutely. I've said it before; Men need to start taking responsibility for their own reactions and stop blaming the women when the sin is theirs. That verse about not providing a "stumbling block" is one of the most abused verses in the bible the way some people use it to judge and condemn so many people for doing things that aren't actually condemned in scripture just because those things don't line up with their own personal preferences! Sure, there are cases where that scripture truly applies, but I think most times it's simply abused as an excuse to pass judgement where none should be passed.

If a woman gets born again, does not God then make her pure?

A white dress for a wedding is not a scriptural thing it is culture. It really is not that old of culture thing... if i was widowed and then remarried i would not wear white... out of respect of the tradition... having slept with my husband before we were married my wedding dress was not white...

Seems the idea of a most beautiful wedding was a ploy to help the young girl 'earn' the white dress and all the trimmings

Big diff between this and ones that show cleavage and side boob shots. I'm confident that the complaint is against those.

How many women are truly going to be honest with the world and with God and wear a biege wedding gown if they are not a virgin?

How many men are qualified to wear white?
Wearing white is simply a tradition of men which had nothing to do with virginity. It was a fashion statement.
"The tradition of a white wedding is commonly credited to Queen Victoria's choice to wear a white wedding dress at her wedding to Prince Albert in 1840."

The pure bride of Christ wearing white robes is both male and female.

The color one wears at their wedding doesn't tell me anything about them. If it did most of our ancestors would be condemned. :shock

Absolutely, the sin is in the heart of the observer, not in the object of their desire.

A rapist will tell you, "I couldn't resist because of the way she was dressed". Does that mean the victim is the one at fault? Does not the rapist bear any responsibility for his actions?

Lusts of the flesh is a personal issue. Just as a rape victim is not prosecuted for the transgressions of the rapist, an innocent bystander should not be expected to bear the sins of anyone who dreams of violating her.

How about black?
I actually like that dress a lot except for the color. Black is Traditionally for mourning, I don't think I'd want to start a marriage with a funeral in anyone's mind.
I know it exposes the shoulder. Truth be known more men are attracted to long necks than shoulders, hence the high necklines of the Victorian era. At least that is what I have read. :chin

She needs to get those curtains back to the office before the boss finds out they're missing.
So your bride is walking down the isle. You have never seen her gown.Would you tell her that? She would go crying home to mama so fast it would make your head swim.

I didnt want to wear a white dress when i got married but his mother was not going to be there if I didnt ...*sigh but I am definately wearing a black or brown dress If i ever get married again.Have never liked white alot plus it gets stains so easy.

Would that black outfit be just as appealing if these women were wearing it?

Something to think about.

.
My heart goes out to these women. They must be very uncomfortable and their self esteem must be zero. Can you imagine what it would be like carrying around an extra 200 lbs?

Yup, I keep thinking that I should be old enough to be immune, but at 54 I'm as bad off as ever....

Best post in the whole thread. And such thinking as Obadiah condemns, if left to it's own, puts women is burkas.

Share your thought with me Obadiah.Do you think it is the mans fault that the women wear inappropriate clothing? Why?
