Monday Mayhem!! Top Ten Inventions of the 20th Century

Here's a little something to make Mondays not so mundane. It's the Monday Mayhem Top Ten List! (queue the music)

I've upgraded the software this week with a few enhancements; call it TopTen 2.0. Here I will introduce the OP2, where I will keep editing the second post with updated incorrect responses. As in the past, the OP will be populated with the correct responses as they are given. Another added feature will be the ultimate Grand Prize: Champion of the Top Ten List. Points will be awarded to each correct response as follows:

#1 = 10 points
#2 = 9 points
...
#10 = 1 point

When the contest is finished, points will be tallied, and a new Champion will be crowned. What does the Champion receive? By participating in this contest, each member has read and understands that they are bound by the penalty of a public flogging on the board to place a note of congratulations on the Champion's profile board within 24 hours of him/her being crowned.

Get it? Agree to it? Good!

Remember, the SAME RULES APPLY:
1. No cheating by looking for this or any other similar list that would give you an unfair advantage. This is on your honor.
2. Only 1 response per post, but you are free to post as many times as you'd like.
3. I'll post the link to the list when it is completed.

So, this week's Top Ten List is... Top Ten Inventions of the 20th Century. There is no explanation of how they arrived at this list, and I stress "they". This isn't my list, and no endorsement by me should be implied.

Top Ten Inventions of the 20th Century

1. Rocketry - l'Chante (jet engines)
2. Computers - l'Chante
3. Nuclear Power - l'Chante
4. Submarines - mcmurry
5. Antibiotics - l'Chante
6. Internet - Handy
7. Cell Phones - Handy
8. Television - Handy
9. Airplanes - Theofilus
10. Ball Point (pen) - Alabaster

Let's have at it! You guess 'em, and I'll fill 'em in! Now, git guessin'!!

In retrospect, maybe too easy once you smart people started trying? :lol

Okay, but if you get a few of these without forcing hints out of me, I'm going to have to retain your PC's as evidence. ;)

Pretty good, lC. On your honor, right? :chin just sayin... ;)

Actually, only anti-biotics was my guess. :oops The others were my fiancé's. What about satellites?

And I still feel that toilet paper should be in there. :bigfrown

Sorry l'Chante, but toilet paper was invented long before the 20th century.

However, in whatever century that officially recognizes (most likely the 7th during the Tang dynasty in China, toilet paper should be considered the #1 invention.

(Yes, I did look this up! ;) )

Is the Internet considered an invention or a development? Somebody call Al Gore!

It's a cat fight!! (between the only responders) :lol

Nice answer on the Internet, Handy. Al Gore, aside. :D
