Monday Mayhem!! Top Ten Inventions of the 20th Century

Vacuum cleaner

Similar devices were invented in the 19th century, but the modern motorized suction vacuum cleaner was invented in the early 20th century (I looked it up to be sure)

The remote control - It greatly improved the quality of life for couch potatoes everywhere.

The MMORPG (Massively Multiplayer Online Roll Playing Game). This has to be on the list, since the best MMORPG ever, Eve Online, is an (are you ready for this?) Icelandic invention.

I'd say wireless radio and the submarine. I know that the earliest version of the radio was more like a "radio telephone." During WWI there were people who had to run the wire connecting each unit. I also know that as far back as the Revolutionary war, Washington oversaw a trial of a very early version of the sub. But the true sub was developed before WWI, with the nuclear sub being developed in the 1950's.
