This is a view of what is known as the Gaumates Valley, near La Condamine, Monaco. You can see how the Alpes are very steep here, right down to sea level.

This is the ornate Palace of Justice in Monaco Town. Naturally the Principality as a sovereign state has its own laws and legal system.
 
Very pretty...

it's well worth a visit and there is plenty to see. (Delta does direct flights to Nice, France, which is only a few miles away from Monaco.)

Monaco has a Consulate-General in New York City, which also serves as a supplier of visitor information. A lot of info. is on the Web.
 
Monaco is a full member of the UN; under Prince Rainier III, its application for membership was accepted in 1993.

Well,the last three flights I took their were problems.I was always anxious when I went up.It is the high.Then came 9/11 and I said forget it.

Twice when I flew the Pond in fairly recent years they kept me waiting near 24 hours at the airport...
