This may be true, but this does not mean that anything that is ridiculed ends up being accepted as truth. My friends ridiculed my teenage ambition of becoming a professional baseball player. They said I lacked the strength, co-ordination, and speed to ever achieve this goal.

And of course, they were right. So just because something is ridiculed does not make it true.

Or another analogy. People say that all great artists are misunderstood. That may well be. But that does not mean that if you are misunderstood, you must be a great artist.

Perhaps you are a lousy artist who is misunderstood.
 
I have one of my own- gases that come down to the ground from the jets' and planes' exhaust really have mind-controling properties, you know what those gases do to us? They keep us busy imagining and coming up with other conspiracy theories while the feds figure out better ways to raise the costs of different things, like college tuition... Now THAT'S plausible.
