Mozila Firefox Vs Internet Explorer

^ No kidding! :toofunny

Firefox is great. I also enjoy Chrome, although I'm finding more and more reasons lately to go all-Firefox.

Let's see how far this goes until someone says IE. :p

I read a while ago that FF passed up IE as the #1 browser in Europe, and it's trending to pass it up in America in about 3 years. IE reminds me of the "only show in town" that never thought it would have competition, not unlike a single cable tv company before satellite forced its hand. "We'll tell you how you'll have it, and you'll like it!!"

Firefox is faster and, more importantly for me, much more customizable. Are there annoying and disturbing ads on this site? I wouldn't know! :shades

I used FF for a couple years after learning what it can be like not to have to wait for websites to open. But then, FF began to give me trouble. I tried everything I could think of and every suggestion from the help files but to no avail. I kid you not, for me FF got slower than IE. Then I tried Chrome. What a difference! I even later tried re-installing FF and comparing it again to Chrome and it was no contest. To date, I am still using Chrome. Those are the only three I've tried. IE lately changed their browser to look like Chrome...copy-cats.

I haven't tried FF for about a year or more. I liked the customization capabilities and there were a lot more functions available than with Chrome but I've grown comfortable where I'm at...for now.

Firefox used to be quicker but it's gotten "fatter" coding wise over the years I doubt its much faster than IE nowerdays.

I use firefox largely because of adblock whitch is wounderful.

Firefox is faster --- using Linux OS. If you use Microsoft, it does not matter what you use as that OS will find a way to screw something up. :toofunny

We know a true blue Linux user when asked the question, "Which is faster, Firefox or Internet Explorer"? To which he will reply, "What is Internet Explorer?" :lol

I suppose he could WINE about it :lol and then find out what it is.

IE is a good browser, but I think it's rich graphics make it resource heavy, and therefore slower. And a lot of people fault it for not rendering HTML (the code used to write web pages) the same as other browsers and call them arrogant for not getting on board with everyone else in that regard. And maybe there's a little truth to that, but what I'm finding out is if you want to be forced to learn and write accurate HTML code use IE. They have less built in safety nets for bad coding and make you adhere more closely to W3C standards for HTML. Nothing wrong with that. That is actually the right way to get all browsers standardized so that all web pages look the same in all browsers.

If/when Opera becomes more popular perhaps someone will write an addin to suppress banner ads for that browser, too.

Check your code...this keeps giving me an 'improper syntax' error. :shrug

IOW, it don't compute.

...no matter what browser I use!
