Narcissism

  • Has a grandiose sense of self-importance (e.g., exaggerates achievements and talents, expects to be recognized as superior without commensurate achievements)
  • Is preoccupied with fantasies of unlimited success, power, brilliance, beauty, or ideal love
  • Believes that he or she is “special” and unique and can only be understood by, or should associate with, other special or high-status people (or institutions) by those who take time to really get to know me.
  • Requires excessive admiration
  • Has a very strong sense of entitlement, e.g., unreasonable expectations of especially favorable treatment or automatic compliance with his or her expectations
  • Is exploitative of others, e.g., takes advantage of others to achieve his or her own ends
  • Lacks empathy, e.g., is unwilling to recognize or identify with the feelings and needs of others
  • Is often envious of others or believes that others are envious of him or her
  • Regularly shows arrogant, haughty behaviors or attitudes
You have never in your life felts some of the above to a lesser degree?

I grew up poor i did envy
i showed arrogance to hide my fears
I so need a good pat on the back...
coming from poor i fantasized about success being pretty and being loved by THAT guy

over the top i hope not :)
You are no Obama, that is for sure.

As to me, if you took the RED words out, then, sure, that is me. But then, the definition falls apart.

I wonder what it would be like for a narcissist couple to be married

Where does vindictive come in?That is a very destructive behavior and can really hurt another person.
If you criticize the narcissist they will punish you in some form or fashion, even if they hurt or deprive or inconvenience themselves in some way in the process.

Yep,that is vindictive wrapped up in a nice little package.

And you know? How?Are you a fly on the wall?
You passed the test. You are a narcissist. Narcissists defend and protect other narcissists. :lol

If narcissists are capable of any empathy, it's towards other narcs.
