New Amazon Prime Commercial 2016 – A Priest and Imam meet for a cup of tea.

So how do you get a Muslim to listen to you preach the gospel to him?
Put a loud speaker in his cell at Gitmo and play Through the Bible with J. Vernon McGee 24/7?
Water-board him until he repents?
Tell him he's a stinking heathen and he's going to hell if he doesn't repent and believe the Gospel?
Or just maybe, earn permission to speak because have demonstrated God's love for mankind by your acts of love.

JTLYK: you don't get to be heard by someone you have convinced that you hate him.
Hate.
You use the word hate.
Why?
You tell me, where is the hatred coming from?

The difference between Rich Mullins and Mother Teresa is that he never stopped preaching the Gospel whereas Mother Teresa may have never preached the Gospel.
Mother Theresa Lived the gospel.
She let her light so shine before men, that they could see her good works and glorify our Father in heaven.
(Well, considering your comments, apparently not all men could see her good works and glorify the Father in heaven.)
You sir, have a hangup on the Roman Catholic Church.
Really?
And just what is that hangup, in your inspired, infallible, personal opinion?
Spell it out in 25 words or less.

Jim Parker is wrong
Allen Wynne is right
That's your hangup, and it only took 8 words.

You said "You sir, have a hangup on the Roman Catholic Church."
I asked you what you imagine that hangup is.
And again, you dodged the question and changed the subject.
Why don't you just give an honest answer?

That's how deception works, through your answer here.

I don't know. To stand against, or to stand with. To love your enemies or to try to live in peace with all men and hold no enemies. To fight against injustice or to turn the other cheek and preach others to do the same. When and where do we stand up against the evils of the world like many of the prophets in the OT did, and when and where do we allow evil to happen, and fight evil by doing good, as Jesus preached in an oppressed by Roman rule enviornment.

I honestly don't know. We can't do nothing, but to love your neighbor, even love your enemy, verses not standing by evil. These are things we as Christians (or at least I do) struggle with.

If what I've said is wrong, please correct me. Otherwise I can only continue on.

I refuse to answer that until we settle this first;
"And all you can think of is that she was one of "them damn-KATH-licks."
Why can you say such a thing to me?
This hurt because you are making a claim about my personal beliefs that I have never stated.
That's why I said you have a hang up.

No, you may be right.
What do I know?

Time out!

We have 5 current prayer requests in the prayer request form.
Can we take a moment for our friends and petition our Lord and Savior Jesus on their behalf?
Thank you.

My apologies.
I have had a lifetime of experience with anti-Catholic religious bigots and, while you may not think your condemnation of the woman as "ecumenical" was anti-Catholic, I assure you, that is exactly what it was whether you specifically stated as much or not.
BY your focusing on what you imagine to be the foremost aspect of her life's work, you completely ignored the fact that she was the most well known 20th century example of what Christianity should be about.
So you appeared to be so blinded by your religious concerns about ecumenism that you were incapable of seeing that woman's 50 year consistent demonstration of meaning of the term "Christ-like."

You may want to rethink that notion.
As an ex-Catholic, I definitely felt the hate.
Jus' sayin'
If I may Jim,
Ecumenical just means of the church.
I can say with no doubt that person's belonging to the RCC definitely look to their church for salvation Through Jesus. The church is really trying to change but is having a difficult time with the older folk.
They are in a state of confusion having depended on the church all their lives.

I didn't feel any hate, but I do see misinformation on both sides of the isle.
(Not in Allen Wynne's case, BTW.)

Wondering

Ecumenical just means of the church.
The reference was to the ecumenical movement initiated by the World Council of Churches rather than to the technical meaning of the word out of context.
They are in a state of confusion having depended on the church all their lives.
My experience of growing up Catholic included never reading the Bible (we didn't own one) and being totally dependent on what the priest said at Mass and what the nuns taught us in Sunday school.
The first Catholics I met who knew the Bible were part of the Charismatic movement.
I don't know what to think of the current Pope. I'd have a hard time with him if I were still in that branch of the Church.

iakov the fool

Ditto to all.

No, you may be right.

I don't mean to change your convection. If it's right that's great. The issue goes beyond the commercial, to the aspect of acceptance/tolerance of Islam, and the observed dangers that come with that. I want to obey God, but I don't want another Paris-like attack in the US because there's a large enough population that gets radicalized. The faith to follow and trust God is rivaled by the terrorists manic efforts of mass murder. Don't return evil for evil but conquor it by doing good. That's my current understanding.

So I say it again. If I'm wrong please give some correction. I'm not trying to fight or debate. The issue is one I occasionally struggle with.
