New Amazon Prime Commercial 2016 – A Priest and Imam meet for a cup of tea.

I don't mean to change your convection. If it's right that's great. The issue goes beyond the commercial, to the aspect of acceptance/tolerance of Islam, and the observed dangers that come with that. I want to obey God, but I don't want another Paris-like attack in the US because there's a large enough population that gets radicalized. The faith to follow and trust God is rivaled by the terrorists manic efforts of mass murder. Don't return evil for evil but conquor it by doing good. That's my current understanding.

So I say it again. If I'm wrong please give some correction. I'm not trying to fight or debate. The issue is one I occasionally struggle with.
Hi NNS,
Allen Wynne could speak for himself, but this is your second post and I feel strongly about this since I live on this side and I'd like to make a comment.

I believe, as a Christian, that we are NOT to accept or be tolerant of the Muslim religion.

I used to think that we served the same God but had different beliefs. I no longer believe this to be true.
We serve Jesus, our Lord and our God, a perfect reflection of who God is. He has come here in love and God's light
to show us the Way. He said HE IS the way. To show us the Light. He said He is THE LIGHT. Everything in HIm is love and good and perfect.

Muslims hate Jesus. They call us the people of the cross. They don't serve God Almighty, the Father, the Creator, or there would be no hate in them. God is Love. They serve Mohammad. Mohammad is their god. They live according to the book he wrote. It's a long list of Laws, do's and don'ts which MUST be obeyed. It tells them to kill the infidel. WE are the infidel.

I find it difficult to love someone who wants to kill me. I love them in the sense that they belong to the human race and since God created everything, He also created them as human brothers. However, they do not serve the same God I serve and their objective is to do harm to me. I have the right to protect myself from harm.

Jesus said to be as gentle as doves and as wise as serpeants. You are NOT wise if you let the enemy into your home so that they could take your life.

Love the muslim. Pray for them. Some actually come to accept Christianity because they are able to see the superiority of it. But they live in fear and will be banished and killed if it is discovered that they no longer practice Islam.

Hate Islam. It is the religion of hate, sanctioned by Mohammad, who is the god served.

Read it someday. It even tells them how to wash themselves. There is no freedom nourished by Love but only Laws and hate.

Jesus came that we might have a life transformed.
Mohammad came that his followers might be conquerors, terrorists, haters of everyone not of their faith.

Hope this helps.
Wondering

I know Islam and muslims, first called moslems when I first learned of them.
Muhammed Ali, and Malcolm X, with the support of the Black Panthers.
That's what I grew up with.
I had no hatred for them.
I found Malcolm X to be quite interesting.
But I found hatred for white people all through the muslims.
Now that hatred is for every American, not just blacks and whites anymore.

Muslims represent hatred.
They descend from Ishmael, no peace in him.
If muslims can't find any non-muslims to fight, then they fight each other.
They have no peace.

In these last 20 years I have met many muslims in the medical field.
Some are well respected doctors.
But they all want your money more than anything else.
They are here to take our money.
They don't care about us as human beings.
It is a rare muslim that ever showed they cared about another.
And how do we know if it isn't just a front because their god says to ahead and lie.

No, I will not hate a muslim.
But also no, I would never invite one in my house.
I can tell them all about Jesus in a public setting.
So far, none of them have ever given me the right time of day.
Unless my wallet was open.

You felt yourself hating, not me.
Really?
With reference to Mother Theresa YOU posted "The Apostle Paul tells us not to be yoked with unbelievers, as we have nothing in common with them."
YOU called her an "unbeliever." (your post #10)
Then YOU said, "The difference between Rich Mullins and Mother Teresa is that he never stopped preaching the Gospel whereas Mother Teresa may have never preached the Gospel." (your post #16")
YOU posted that slander against someone who dedicated her life to DOING the Gospel.
BUt, you could be right. I do hate it when people allow the devil to use them to slander God's faithful servants as you have done.

If you want to start somewhere, let's start here.

In a speech she delivered to the Worldwide Retreat For Priests in October of 1984 she made the following quotes:

a) “At the word of a priest, that little piece of bread becomes the body of Christ, the Bread of Life.”
b) “Without a priest, without Jesus going with them, our sisters couldn’t go anywhere.”
c) “When the priest is there, then can we have our altar and our tabernacle and our Jesus. Only the priests put Jesus there for us. … Jesus wants to go there, but we cannot bring him unless you first give him to us. This is why I love priests so much. We could never be what we are and do the things we do without you priests who first bring Jesus to us.”
d) “Mary … is our patroness and our Mother, and she is always leading us to Jesus.”

While she worked with the poor, Mother Teresa was adamant that any type of evangelism was unnecessary. In her book, Life in the Spirit: Reflections, Meditations and Prayers, she says:

“We never try to convert those who receive [aid from Missionaries of Charity] to Christianity but in our work we bear witness to the love of God’s presence and if Catholics, Protestants, Buddhists, or agnostics become for this better men — simply better — we will be satisfied. It matters to the individual what church he belongs to. If that individual thinks and believes that this is the only way to God for her or him, this is the way God comes into their life — his life. If he does not know any other way and if he has no doubt so that he does not need to search then this is his way to salvation.” (Pages 81-82)

I don't have anything against her, never met her.
But you idolize her.
No reason why I shouldn't let a little truth sink into your head.

Sheesh maybe you were collecting info 5 minutes ago .. and did not see my post # 46.

So to be fair Jim Parker gets 1 rebuttal..

any more the thread will close..

Interesting post.
I've read a couple of books by
Mother Theresa.

Old time Catholics found no reason to preach the gospel.
They depended totally on the church for salvation.
Even to this day they believe there are different ways to reach God.
This diminishes the importance of the gospel and Christianity as the one true religion.

Wondering

I think that a very important part of the Gospel has been lost to much of the church. It is the part by which believers are to be living the Gospel. Jesus said; "Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven." (Mat 5:16 NKJV)
What has replaced that is the "Faith alone without works" false gospel of cheap grace and the Televangelistic "dog and pony show" parody of Christianity.
People seem to think that all you have to do is preach the gospel without living it.
What diminishes the power of preaching the Gospel is the behavior of far too many self-proclaimed Christians.
IMHO

I agree with you on this.
I also thought of that quote by St. Francis:
Always preach the gospel and when absolutely necessary use words.

I do have a problem with this if we want to get into it.

I can do all the good I want to do and be as nice a person as I can...But if I don't declare that I'm Christian or proclaim the Why of what I do, what difference does it make except in worldly good to others?
I could be an atheist just being a nice person.

As far as works are concerned, I agree 100% with all you've said.

Wondering

IF you are doing all in obedience to and for the Glory of God it will show.
If you are gracious to all whom you meet, as God is gracious to all mankind, then you may have permission to speak and be heard.
If you just walk up to someone and start preaching, there is a very low probability that they will be open to what you have to say.
That is the reason that Jesus told us to let our light so shine before men that they see your good works and praise God. (not the person doing the good works)
Works of mercy, which Mother Theresa spent her life doing among the poorest of the poor, demonstrate, in a way that cannot be denied, that God so loved the world that He sent His only begotten Son to save it.
The words of some evangelist on a world evangelism tour do not have the same impact.
Mother Theresa of Calcutta and Father Damien of Molokai laid down their lives to bring Christ to people who were the untouchable outcasts of society. They didn't drop in, spend a week or two having "Gospel crusades". They left family and home, everything and everyone they knew, to bring God's mercy to those who knew no mercy from anyone else on earth.

I think that will rate a "Well done thou good and faithful servant!".
