Hey there, I am apart of many forums and love debating.

To get some things out of the way I will just tell you what I "believe".

-I believe there is no god.* (Proper use of the word believe here so no " ")

-I know that evolution happened, and the controversy is over. Evolution is backed by every single scientific field and whenever tested works. Also it is our basis on how we understand everything pertaining to life.

*I do realize this is a baseless assertion of my intellectual aptitude as I see fit. But colloquially I think there is room for me to say their is no god as no proof has been given to believe in such a deity, let alone for all the miracles and biblical stories. So I say there is no god like I say there are no leprechauns. Can I prove it? Nope.

Onto a little about me.

I'm currently 16 years old and live on Whidbey Island, WA. I was raised a Baptist in a sense but mostly just your general "religious". Went to a christian school got big into biology and genealogy and started asking why x or y wasn't being taught so I started to question my faith. Then at around 13-14 I got into watching and readying debates and from then on my thirst for knowledge knows no bounds.

I would classify myself as an Agnostic/Gnostic Atheist Determinist/Existentialist Nihilist. And currently favor more liberal/progressive government ideals.

I look forward to discussion and maybe/hopefully debate.

If you wish to debate me or just talk (by debate I really just mean converse) you can skype me and I will talk for as long as you want. My skype is Game_Guru and the name associated with the account is ReverendLiveFree. (Long story on how I got that name.)

Anyway, nice to be here and hi! :waving

LF, welcome to the forums! :waving

Though this is a site wrapped around Christian discussion, we welcome member of all faiths (or lack there of). Every member needs to know the ToS (found in the Quick Links in the top banner), especially those who disagree with our faith and come here for the purpose of debate. If you haven't already, please read, understand and apply yourself to them. It will make your stay here much more fruitful for everyone. Also, we have agnostics here and some who have been here in the past. If you read through some of the past threads, you'll see a "preferred" way to present your beliefs, and a "not-so-preferred" way. We've had agnostics step in and discipline other agnostics who were very braze and bold, saying they were doing agnostics a disservice.

I don't see this with your OP, but I'm offering this as advice to avoid a rough time going forward. Some agnostics have been a source of great discussion, because they respect opposing POV's. I look forward to getting to know you on the board. Usually we merely greet new members here with a "welcome" and get into matters on the board.

So, again... welcome! :wave

That's cause you live on "That side of the mountains". It simply rains too much over there so you guys have way too much time to be depressed and think about stuff :lol

Anyway, Mike gave you some good advice. Please become familiar with the TOS and the forums where you'll probably get along and I suspect you'll find the Science forum appealing to you. Along with that, you may also find the 1 on 1 debate forum of interest.

I would ask you not to post in the Apologetic or Bible Study forums as you've already made your position clear. The Bible Study forum is for those who wish to study scripture in a friendly environment. It is not for argument. Likewise, the Apologetic forum is for hashing out differences in scriptural interpretation. It is not a place where we must "Prove" the validity of scripture.

If you choose to understand scripture from a Christian point of view, you may find the Q&A forum of interest, but I'll warn you now that if you come into that forum with a debatable mentality, chances are your post won't remain there long.

Aside from that, welcome to our little nook. Enjoy, learn and grow.

Grace and Peace.

Welcome to the site.

Let it be known that I too once was a teenager who thought he "knew everything". :D Man was I in for a surprise! :thumbsup

I was an atheist ... But I like life much better with Jesus now. It can also develop the work of God ... Probably not intended the Bible literally

Repent today, tomorrow may never come for you mate.

I think you're in the wrong thread

Don't think. Throw off your chains of reason and your prison disappears.

An athiest is someone who does not believe in Jesus who is God. Hence, an
Athiest is Jewish.

Seek first to understand, then to be understood.
(Fourth principle in the Seven Laws of Highly Successful People).

An atheist is someone who doesn't believe in any form of God. Jews are not atheists as they believe in the Lord YWHW, but as prophesied in the Scriptures deny Jesus Christ the Messiah.

It's better to use the term "Jesus Atheist" to convey someone who denies the Lord.

Anyways, this is not a debate forum. This is a forum to welcome new members. If you'd like to start a new thread on the subject go ahead and do so in another forum.

spokaners!

be nice to the fellow washingtonian, and welcome, i used to live in washington not far from you.ft.lewis in fact.

:o hey dude ^_^ Interesting to see another outsider here.

If you intend to debate people here a word of advice from one outsider to another. Whatever your reasons for coming here, This spot on the internet is where individuals belonging to a particular kind of christian philosophy aggregate, Be charismatic and aware of the tone and force you use when debating your own philosophy, misunderstandings can occur too easily. ;)

Course you might be different but when I was your age I was pretty headstrong lol.
