New, improved, weather report for the day

Freaking warm here. Like 100 F
What's wrong with this year's weather? Spring weather on christmas, then we get a never ending winter until May, then we get drowned in June and now we're being baked. I don't even wanna know what the rest of the year will be like.

Come to sunny Florida!
It's 9:40 AM and it's 92 already!
The humidity is outrageous!
Can't even step outside the door.
Don't know how JasonCran does it!?

Well, our Idaho Rockies weather is being normal... meaning that day before yesterday, it was in the 90's and our little air conditioner was running it's little heart out to keep the house somewhat comfortable. Yesterday and today, I've got a fire going to keep the chill off.

It's been extremely hot here this week.
Now we're getting thunderstorms. So far the thunderstorms have been a bit disappointing, I had hoped for some more exciting special effects.

So it's been a real awesome midsummer day. After we had winter almost May, enough rain for a flood disaster in the first days of June and then heat like in the fires of hell last week we finally have some friendly summer weather after all.

In that's the thunderstorm we had on thursday

Sorry for spamming images, but I'm so thrilled about having a camera!! :colorsmile

Praying for you folks up near Calgary. Heard the flooding and such is pretty bad up there. :pray
Thanks, Speculative. It's been extremely bad, worst in the city's history, by a long shot. Damage should easily top $1 billion.

The river essentially follows a long, wide valley (and flood plain) through Calgary and at normal times, is hardly a river compared to most other rivers, such as the Ottawa or Mississippi rivers, for example. The water is now starting to recede but some places are still in danger as the water has eroded the banks and is threatening to take some houses with it.

Hardest hit areas in Calgary are some low lying communities upstream from downtown, downtown (both communities and office buildings), the Calgary Stampede grounds which are on the east side of downtown (the Stampede is apparently still going to start in 2 weeks :crazy ), and a small industrial area, which happens to be where I work, or was supposed to until this Tuesday. All these areas obviously are low and centered around the river.

About 75,000 people in Calgary are displaced, although about 65,000 are allowed back in today to check there homes. But, incredibly, in a city of over 1 million, no one was killed. Unfortunately though, in a small town 45 minutes south of Calgary, four people were killed. Most of that community is under water. And now, of course, all that water is pushing into communities a couple of hours away and they are now declaring emergencies.

Not to mention the communities west of Calgary where all this water hit first, mainly Canmore and Bragg Creek. Tons of pics and video online.

But, in the end, it's not as bad as other places in the world, such as India, and we'll get over it easier then they. Much to be thankful for.

that is hot even for this florida boy. yeah I work outside in that weather.

Weather being what it is, the prediction for the holiday has been downgraded by 30°.

Or should I say, Weathermen being what they are? How can they mistake by that much? It seems in the NW there's no such thing as a 10-day prediction, I wonder why they even try.

I don't know what the temp was today but it sure was hot working outside. It was sunny and hot. A few sprinkles in the late afternoon which was refreshing but only lasted about 5 minutes.

Claudya, nice pics! (Nice looking neighborhood too!) Let's see some more pics! Germany looks cool.

Well, we have more than a few sprinkles...
