Hi,
New to board and wanted to say hi and tell a lil about myself. My name is Diane. I have been a heavy drinker for 16 yrs now. I stopped 18 days ago and am asking everyone to keep me in your prayers that the Lord will continue to give me the strength to stay quit. I can already see so much work done around my house just since I have stopped. I already pretty much have a vision so to speak even though everything that can go wrong has. I fell and injured my leg and have already missed a week from work and can't work for the next two week. waiting to h
ave an MRI on MY knee. Still I'm just so excited about not drinking. I start my day off reading my bible and praying for strength. I totally depend upon the Lord to keep me sober everyday. Thank you for taking the tie to read this. Diane

Welcome to CFnet, Diane .... hope you enjoy your time in fellowship with us :wave2

You have my prayers to stay focused on our Lord's words so you can stay strong. Eighteen days and counting.... that is marvelous!

:sohappy

Thank you so much! Today, I just got thinking how much I liked FB but it's so much drama and BS and nothing uplifting. I try to start my day first thing reading Just for today, God's daily answers and the bible plus praying for myself and others. This way maybe I will meet others who will pray for me and I will read about people who I can pray for. Instead of reading about what someone ate for supper or who is arguing with who.

I can certify that CFnet is soooooo much better than FB!

While on occasion, there's some element of drama here, for the most part, we're just an eclectic group of individuals who dearly love our Lord and want to spend time together. As you've seen from the Forums' lists, there are serious forums as well as some light-hearted forums. I've found that the light hearted forums come in handy when I'm giving thought to something Scripture-related that was presented in a way either I hadn't known or hadn't perceived in a particular way. There's also a lovely Ladies Locker Room, dedicated solely to women to discuss what we want.

I rather like this Forum, the Praise Reports & Prayers. My own walk has been strengthened and blessed by many of the posts/threads others have presented. Through this forum, I've met some modern day heroes who are fighting the fight daily and have the light of our Lord shining brightly in them.

I hope you like CFnet as well!

Praying for you dear Sister Diane in Christ. With God all things are possible, and the best is yet to come. May God bless you to be steadfast in your quest to be sober, and I hope it is as easy as quitting smoking was for me after I quit trying to substitute other sources of tobacco to take its place such as Copenhagen.
Blessings in Christ Jesus. :wave2

Well, As of today I am still sober!!! YAY!!! It's been so hard due to a lot of stressful situations. I'm trusting the Lord to help me with them as well as the drinking. Thanks to everyone who is praying for me.

Well, I was trying to post and being new to this and I think I may have deleted the last one someone posted. If so I'm sorry!

Hi Diane, when we are in Christ the past is past God has forgotten our past we must learn to do the same..

Philippians 3:13 Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before,

14 I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.

i haven't had a drink in 10 years, sometimes i even forget that i had that problem..

Hi Diane, great name :biggrin2
Drink of the water, that you may never thirst again; unto everlasting life.

Living daily for and with our Lord God is absolutely remarkable! He guides us, heals us, and keeps us busy ... His love, grace and mercy are marvelous!

:thumbsup My house will be praying for you, Diane . We need to have a warriors wall on this site.

Eph 6:14 Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;
Eph 6:15 And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;
Eph 6:16 Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.
Eph 6:17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:
Eph 6:18 Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;

Keep the faith sister. We walk with you. We pray with you. We shall be with you every step of the way. God bless you and keep you.

Thank you so much!!!! I can tell my body is going thru so many changes. I am finding myself wanting to brust into tears at the drop of a hat. I wake up in the morning just waiting for the day to be over so I can go back to bed. I have been spending time in prayer and I do read the bible verses you guys post. But when you go from drinking 24/and 7 , what can you exspect? I couldn't go more than 2 or 3 hrs without a beer. So, Tob, I pray that the day comes that this will all be just a bad memory. But!!!! I do believe that when my knee heels where I can start working out like I did before the drinking took over my life I will feel a lot better. But, all in good time. Thanks for listening. Diane

One more thing I would like to add, I ask myself the question today that if I died would I go to heaven? Before I would have probably thought no but I hope so. Today I thought yes, I feel as though I would. The only thing I feel I need to do that I haven't done is I need to find a church and probably some AA meeting..

You can't dwell on your old life Diane, finding a good church is a must, always pressing forward or you'll get dragged back down, and i know neither one of us wants that, and by all means steer clear of drinkers..

I Corinthians 15:33 Be not deceived: evil communications corrupt good manners.
