Rom 8:
1There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
What does this mean ? Does it mean mans so called freewill has did something ? God forbid, for being in Christ Jesus is all of God 1 cor 1:
30 But of him[God the Father] are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption:
Hence to be in Christ is to have been Chosen in Him before the foundation of the world eph 1:
3Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ:
4According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love
Also it is to have been given to Christ by the Father as a Gift, this is the word in Jn 17:
6I have manifested thy name unto the men which thou gavest me out of the world: thine they were, and thou gavest them me; and they have kept thy word.
Here the Sovereignty of God is displayed in giving or appointing some to be given and obtain His Salvation, resulting from His predestining decree, before the foundation of the world, even before it was formed, He appointed a certain definite number unto eternal life [ acts 13:48].
It is amazing to observe how the decree of God in this operates in those who come to Christ, for we read in Jn 6:
37All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out.
The coming of a sinner to Christ [in Faith] is the fruit of the Gift of God's decree, and this is what it means to be in Christ, to be in that Gift.
So the key to being in Christ Jesus is having been chosen in Him before the world began. And to those, there is no condemnation rom 8:
33Who will bring any charge against those whom God has chosen? It is God who justifies.
