Is it possible to be blotted out of the Lambs book of Life once you have been saved?

What is the Book of Life anyway? Is it a Jewish term or a Christian term?

What I mean by Continually saved is just that.....Sin breaks the saved state, repentance (Asking for) reinstates saved state.....a continuous cycle.

Yes.....means, no matter what, if you've accepted Christ, you are saved.

No.....means....no, you do not enjoy an unconditional perpetual state of being saved. Once you sin, or sin unrepentently repeatedly, your name is blotted out of the Book of Life.

One would have to kill God to become unsaved. That's not going to happen. :D

There is difference in "the book of life" and the "book of life from the foundation." These are two separate books.

The book of life is freewill people. The book of life from the Foundation is speaking about the 7000 Zadoc that do not bow a knee to satan.

I used to believe in OSAS and didn't feel confident in my salvation.

Now I believe in salvation by grace through faith and that faith is rejectable and I have complete assurance of my salvation.

My salvation and assurance comes from Jesus and not a doctrine.

Ephesians 2:8 NIV Read this Chapter
For it is by grace you have been saved, through faithâ€â€and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of Godâ€â€

2 Timothy 1:9 NIV Read this Chapter
who has saved us and called us to a holy lifeâ€â€not because of anything we have done but because of his own purpose and grace. This grace was given us in Christ Jesus before the beginning of time,

Being as it has nothing to do with anything I have done, I am secure in my salvation.

No one is saved, so no one can say. We gotta get to the end first, working out our own salvation. Now I truly believe Yahweh is merciful and that if you seek him with your whole heart, you can be given eternal life and be resurrected in the last day.

This once saved always saved is nonsense. Preach "once saved always saved" to the guys in Matthew 7:21-23.

I don't know.....sounds like this is a warning that it may be possible.....

Rev 3:5 He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels.

Sounds like your name is written in the book and it is possible to have it blotted out if you don't overcome......

So if you accept Christ at 13 and at 27 you have a bad day and murder someone, you are still saved? What happens if you are unrepentent? Still saved?

Hey I am not here to argue. I choose to believe and trust the Lord, and if something like that should happen in my life (which it hasn't) I would hope I could keep on trusting Jesus.

That is all that matters to me. I will let you deal with the what ifs.

I believe once saved always saved and that the book of life isn't a literal book as I believe God is an all knowing God that wouldn't need a correction pen to blott out the names that he added in error.

Yes but we have a free will, and we can do stuff that suddenly comes
to our mind. Actions have consequences, one of them is described here:

Revelation 22:19  And if any man shall take away from the words of
the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the
book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which
are written in this book.

Rom 8:37-39

37 Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. 38 For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, 39 nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
NKJV

John 10:27-30
27 My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me. 28 And I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; neither shall anyone snatch them out of My hand. 29 My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all; and no one is able to snatch them out of My Father's hand. 30 I and My Father are one."
NKJV

I don't see any waffeling in these words. If Christ has saved you it is a done deal.

On the other hand, if a person thinks they have saved themselves...well, the remedy for that seems pretty clear. :)

Once a person is born again, born of God he is a new creature in Jesus Christ, and nothing can erase the victory that was given to such a one as a free gift from God. No one can be unborn from the flesh, nor can one be unborn from the Spirit.

Read John 3 and 1 John.

20 For all the promises of God in him are yea, and in him Amen, unto the glory of God by us. 21 Now he which stablisheth us with you in Christ, and hath anointed us, is God; 22 Who hath also sealed us, and given the earnest of the Spirit in our hearts. 2 Corinthians 1:20-22

12 That we should be to the praise of his glory, who first trusted in Christ. 13 In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise, 14 Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory. Ephesians 1:12-14

30 And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption. Ephesians 4:30

Gal 2:19-20
20 I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.

This is a great place to start on this matter.

Tell me Georges, who was Jesus addressing in Rev 3:5?

At the same time, another great truth to work with is the meaning of the scriptures that tells us God is the God of Abraham, Issac, and Jacob. As the whole matter of complete salvation is found in both these scriptures.

And maybe one last thing,..... consider who Christ is as the son of David, for within this is found an answer also.

In love,

So when do you seek him? :o Not until the last day because the days before that, he is not merciful and just enough to forgive us? :o

Whaaat? :-?

Jesus told me in Matthew 11..28 Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. 29 Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.â€Â

How can you rest in your Father's arms with a day to day wondering and NO assurance? That doesn't sound like an easy yoke...that sounds like a frightening burden to carry. Part of my 'peace that passes understanding' includes the assurance that no sin is bigger than the cleansing capability of Jesus' blood. If it were, the Holy Spirit would be coming and going in and out of me like a revolving door. If I start choosing flesh over Spirit, I trust Him to guide me back.

So what do these mean in the context given (guest and servant):

Matthew 22:13  Then said the king to the servants, Bind him hand and foot,
and take him away, and cast him into outer darkness; there shall be weeping
and gnashing of teeth.

Matthew 24:51  And shall cut him asunder, and appoint him his portion
with the hypocrites: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

Matthew 25:30  And cast ye the unprofitable servant into outer darkness:
there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

I'm all for grace, but what's in store for the "fallen from"? And why?
please explain from the view of God's government

Gal 5:1-6
5:1 Stand fast therefore in the liberty by which Christ has made us free, and do not be entangled again with a yoke of bondage. 2 Indeed I, Paul, say to you that if you become circumcised, Christ will profit you nothing. 3 And I testify again to every man who becomes circumcised that he is a debtor to keep the whole law. 4 You have become estranged from Christ, you who attempt to be justified by law; you have fallen from grace. 5 For we through the Spirit eagerly wait for the hope of righteousness by faith. 6 For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision avails anything, but faith working through love.
NKJV

I'm guessing your "fallen from" comment has to do with this passage. This is not talking about falling from salvation. It is talking about walking in the flesh. Notice that Paul had just described the difference between salvation by grace alone through faith and self-righteousness through law keeping. Then he goes back to his original theme of those who were promoting the keeping of the law as a duty for Christians and Paul warns them that they will not profit that way. They will not increase through their own efforts.
