And whether or not you think I am giving you anything Scriptural is irrelevant.
I always am concerned about being in line with Scripture. For me its never irrelevant.
I am simply stating that your understanding of what the "hidden manna" is is not necessarily the case. Too many assumptions on your part.
I have not assumed anything. I have presented solid Scriptures where Jesus Himself tells us He is the true manna from heaven. We all know He is the Word (John1) and we all know that "bread" in the Bible means "Word" and manna=bread=Jesus=Word. So without assuming anything, when I read about hidden manna, I am 100% within Scripture to say that it means "hidden word" . That is also in line with what Jesus told the disciples about some not hearing and seeing . To some it is still hidden. This is seen in the practical, when we for instance show the truth of the Gospel to a Jewish person and they cannot see Christ. It then is still hidden manna to them, even if they read the words on the same page that we do.
God then clearly makes a distinction that overcomers will receive hidden manna from Him. You have to be attentive to the fact that these are not my words, I am quoting them from the Bible, plus I am substantiating them with other scripture. There are many more if you want me to quote them too.
However, if we consider Jesus and his words as the hidden manna:
1 Cor 13:12 For now we see in a mirror dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I have been fully known.
This would fully support my understanding that the overcomers in Revelations 2 will be heaven when they receive the hidden manna, if that manna is Jesus.
This mirror that Paul refers to, is the same
mirror that is spoken of in
2Co 3:18 But we all, with unveiled face beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are transformed into the same image from glory to glory, even as from the Lord the Spirit.
This is who you must see in the
mirror now. You are suppose to see the Lord, because according to Gal 2:20 you are dead, so you cannot see your reflection there.
But Paul tells us that this image is still dim.We have difficulty seeing Jesus in the mirror, but the Bible tells us He is in us and He is coming in us. His coming in us , is likened like the coming of the day. He is becoming clearer and clearer as we submit to the Word and as the Spirit transforms us into His image. This coming of the perfect day is the way of the righteous!
Pro 4:18 But the path of the righteous is as the dawning light, That shineth more and more unto the perfect day. As the dawning light, because just as the mirror is dim, the light is less at the dawn. But the sun/Son is rising in the hearts of the righteous until the ......perfect day. IN that day we will see clearly, face to face.
1Co 13:12 For now we see in a mirror, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know fully even as also I was fully known.
This must happen on earth, and God has scheduled it for the time before the tribulation. Its God's answer and grace to the horror that awaits the earth. He calls it:
Col 1:27 ... Christ in you, the hope of glory: This is when this scripture happens: 1Jn 2:28
And now, my little children, abide in him; that, if he shall be manifested, we may have boldness, and not be ashamed before him at his coming. and this one :
Rom 8:19 For the earnest expectation of the creation waiteth for the revealing of the sons of God. Notice its creation waiting, not heaven.
Here is the very verse you used to try and prove my position wrong. I will use it to show you the inconsistency with your above statement:
1 John 5:4-5, "4 For everyone who has been born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world our faith. 5 Who is it that overcomes the world except the one who believes that Jesus is the Son of God?"
As you can see, those who overcome are those who have been born of God--every true Christian. Since that is the case, we all receive the hidden manna. It follows that this is not something additional to certain persons such as yourself.
I agree with this, the Bible say it will happen to , as you say, every true Christian.
Also your claim that "God does not open all truth to everybody" is completely and utterly wrong in light of what John says. I'll put in a more logical format to make it easier to follow:
P1 According to John every Christian is an overcomer
P2 According to John everyone who overcomes receives the hidden manna
C1 It follows that every Christian will receive the hidden manna.
1Jn 5:4 For
whatsoever is begotten of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that hath overcome the world, even our faith.
1Jn 5:5 And who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God?
Yes you need to believe that Jesus is the Son of God if you want to overcome the World. At least you are agreeing that we have to overcome this world
IN this world and not in heaven.
Now you must look around you and count the Christians who fits this picture of overcoming the world. If it is as you say, you should have no problem. If you want to move them into heaven before they overcome, then the overcoming of the world does not make sense anymore. You already agreed that Paul said that all true Christians will overcome. I agree.
If "God does not open all truth to everybody" is equivalent to saying "not all Christians will receive the hidden manna", then you clearly have a contradiction.
As I said, if we can see these overcomers, I will agree with you. Here is a key scripture that tells us what the overcomers look like:1Jn 2:5
but whoso keepeth his word, in him verily hath the love of God been perfected. Hereby we know that we are in him:
1Jn 2:6 he that saith he abideth in him ought himself also to walk even as he walked.
