How does it contradict the Bible? I am genuinely curious, I would hate to be against God's Word.
As for the Helicopter thing. It is the same principal as when you throw a ball up in a moving car, no matter the speed of the car the ball does not go backwards. Same with the reason a helicopter can go up and come down and be nearly in the same spot (nearly because flying a helicopter is wicked hard and it is near impossible to keep it stable).

How is this possible if the Earth is spinning?
I think your getting Coreolis effect confused in there.

uh, sl , every actual fly any fixed wing aircraft and or rotary wing.
the fixed wing account for the rotation of the earth when they travel , as they have to, yes we can travel in straight lines to the destation but it would take longer.
the rotation of the earth is used to shorten the distance traveled.
on helicopters
they hover when the blades are up,and there isnt suffecient forward force to move it forward, when they tilt the blade in the direction they want to go the bird will go there.
if a helicopter isnt still then how does the army rangers, infantry repel to the lz, or put equipment on the lz?
btw helicopters doesnt fly they beat the air into submission.!
