Paul vs everyone else.

1 Corinthians 15:4

that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures,

5 and that he appeared to Peter, and then to the Twelve.

Jesus was never buried under the earth, he was in a tomb and there would be 11 not 12 since Judas hung himself before Jesus even died on the cross.

This seems relatively easy to get passed as just a word for being laid to rest.

Another expression (12) of the group of apostles, but a little more of a stretch than the "buried" to me.

I've never given these any more thought than to say he was using phrases to make his point. It's worth discussing, but I don't see contradictions.

One is buried in the ground and one is buried in a tomb....still buried.

As far as the twelve go...They chose Matthias by lot as he was one who had been a witness...of Jesus' life and His resurrection. So there were 12.
Acts 1:21-23 said:
Wherefore of these men which have companied with us all the time that the Lord Jesus went in and out among us, Beginning from the baptism of John, unto that same day that he was taken up from us, must one be ordained to be a witness with us of his resurrection. And they appointed two, Joseph called Barsabas, who was surnamed Justus, and Matthias.

Matthias was chosen to replace Judas after Jesus went to Heaven.

Acts 1 :

9 After he said this, he was taken up before their very eyes, and a cloud hid him from their sight.
THEN
26 Then they cast lots, and the lot fell to Matthias; so he was added to the eleven apostles.

--
Mark 16:14 Later Jesus appeared to the Eleven as they were eating; he rebuked them for their lack of faith and their stubborn refusal to believe those who had seen him after he had risen.
--
Luck 24:33
They got up and returned at once to Jerusalem. There they found the Eleven and those with them, assembled together
--
1 Corinthians 15:3
..Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, 4that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures, 5and that he appeared to Peter, and then to the Twelve.

everywhere and everything says 11 except 1 Corinthians and it says 12.

MY COMMENTS: THE TERM 'THE TWELVE' SEEMS TO BE AN OFFICAL TITLE FOR IDENTIFICATION.

FOR INSTANCE, IN JOHN 20:24, AFTER CHRIST'S RESURRECTION, HE APPEARED TO THEM IN THE HOUSE, EXCEPT FOR THOMAS:
"BUT, THOMAS, ONE OF THE TWELVE, CALLED DIDYMUS, WAS NOT WITH THEM WHEN JESUS CAME."

HERE, THOMAS IS CALLED 'ONE OF THE TWELVE' YET JUDAS ISCARIOT IS DEAD.

FROM YOUNG'S CONCORDANCE, "THAPTO"--GK, IS TRANSLATE BOTH "TO BURY" OR "TO ENTOMB."
SO, EITHER WORD SEEMS ACCEPTABLE.

I agree with mjjcb, these don't seem to be major points. "Buried in a tomb" doesn't seem to be a contradiction and we can still refer to the Beatles as the Fab Four even though two of them are dead.

I do wonder why Paul doesn't mention the women who are the first to see the risen Christ in the gospels.

He was chosen after, but it's clear he was a witness to His resurrection (before he was actually chosen).

Jesus appeared many times before His resurrection...not just once.
