Do you like Christian hard rock?

PS:

Speculative: Well, you must know whether or not it could become an acquired taste for you, but for example I have been deeply impressed by the quality and range of hard rock by bands such as Red and their combination of lyrics, taken as a whole, at any rate, if not on every track.

Blessings.

One of these days, I'll get afound to checking some of these bands out. :)

Speculative:

You see, part of the motivation can be that since many young people listen to Christian hard rock and hard rock/heavy metal generally, it's a point of familiarity to them and given the existence of boldly Christian lyrics in the work of various bands it can pose testimony opportunities.

If this makes sense.

Blessings.

Makes sense to me :)

Okay guys; thanks for for votes so far in the poll. Keep them coming in, people.

I see that one response seems to outweigh the other choices, so far.

Blessings.

LOL ... I'll listen to everything from Statler Brothers for the outstanding 4 part harmonies ... to Red/Disciple/Skillet for the I need to shout moments ... and sometimes I'll listen to the likes of LaCrae. And then everything in between.

As someone else said, Music is a tool and there are many tools in the musical drawer. There are soft sweet songs, there are loud angry songs, there are intense vocal harmonies, there are sweet innocent voiced solos ... all to fit the mood and the message to be shared.

I don't know why am I saying this again... but STRYPER is the BEST Christian band in the world!:halo

Song "Honestly" is honestly one of the greatest ballads :amen

Ah, I don't like that grindcore or what ever is it =( I'm more to Thrash Metal and Heavy Metal like Megadeth, Metallica and so on.. Metallica either Megadeth aren't Christianbands but Megadeth's frontman Dave Mustaine (ex Metallica member) has become born again Christian.

There's a lot of other Stryper songs that are not that soft, well them are soft but them are heavy metal

And this is Megadeth is you haven't heard

One of their knowest song (Heavy Metal)

He's a born again man =) Not that time, he was addicted in drugs and everything. I can tell everything if you want to hear from me ;)

Sorry, can't watch the Megadeth videos, because youtube is blocking a lot of music videos for copyright reasons in Germany. I know Megadeth though, and I love trash metal.
I didn't know their front man is christian. It's a bit like Slayer. Their front guy Tom Araya is a catholic, and although many of their songs aren't quite christian they have a bunch of songs that any christian could agree with.

Tom Araya calls himself a Catholic Christian but I don't think so he's a born again Catholic. As Dave Mustaine is a born again Christian, way different than Araya. Mustaine does not want to play songs that plurify evility or something like that because it's against his religious belief :)

Many christians in the world don't emphasise the concept of being "born again" that much. My church for example does not. A a faithfull confessing catholic seems to me just as saved as a born again evangelical, and only God knows the full truth about their faith.
I try to be carefull when listening to Slayer and try to avoid the very occult sounding stuff.

As I like Slayer, it's good band but I can't believe that Tom Aray would be dedicated in his faith. I think that he believes that there's God but he's more like spiritual man, not a religious.

This isn't principally the theme, but, since we are there:

'Ye must be born again.' John 3.7 .

Thanks for the further votes, guys; keep them coming. (They mostly seem to point in the same direction...)

So if a child who was born into a christian family and never knew anything but Christianity died, he would not be in heaven due to not technically being a christian?

Im not a fan of the "hard rock" genre, its all MOR and doesn't have enough of an edge musically. I much prefer punk/hardcore or old time country and bluegrass.

Ravage: hi there; so you're an old fashioned punk rocker, are you? :) Well, great.
