What does "Biblical" mean?

  • 1) Must be explicitly clear in the Bible.

I hear the term Biblical thrown around alot on the board. What do you think this term means. I'll try think of as many deffinitions as I can. If you have another please post it.

I've often wondered the same thing....I hope this yields an interesting discussion.

For example, neither the words "trinity" nor "rapture" appear in the Bible. You (judging from your posts and theology) believe in one but not the other. Most here believe in both. A few believe in neither.

All three camps declare their positions "biblical". Not as clear-cut a defense as one first purports.
 
Biblical means "Pertaining to the Bible"


All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: 2 Timothy 3:16
