Pope endorses same sex civil unions

The bible tells us HOW to be saved.

How do YOU think one is saved?
I've asked you this before and you never answer.
Maybe you don't know the answer?

Happily, most on this forum DO KNOW the answer to that question.
Sorry not fond of your use of capitalisation.......

This thread made me famous on here. I suspect JLB has hated me ever since. And possibly told others " hey you should see that thread he started on the pope. He's a blasphemous heretic bound for Hell"
Sorry jlb,,,you can delete this post if you want....

So I see you are a pope supporter.
I guess that makes you a romanist.
See, it's easy to label people.
JLB doesn't hate you.
If he hated anyone on this forum, it would be me.
No, I read everything you write and you're not in my class yet, but you are working on it.
The pope is not a good spiritual leader.
I don't see any evangelists coming out of the romanist church.
Where are they all?

Ok...well I've decided to err on the side of his radical liberal views. Just seems like more commonsense than biblically respectful. Jesuits intrigue me. They are rarely conservative but I admire their ability to think outside the box. I think that is what is required to engage with LGBTI for example. We can't just declare war on them.

Why am I reading this whole thread?
How did I get here?
Interesting stuff though.
I think I was following someone and ended up here.
See how it works?

Presenting the truth to sinners is not declaring war on them, it’s how they will be set free.

Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God. 1 Corinthians 6:9-10

Do you understand what it means for those who will not inherit the kingdom of God?

How does it extinguish yours?

It's along the same lines as, when the Lord told us in scripture that we must forgive others or we will not be forgiven....which is generally misunderstood by folks who think it sounds like a commandment, so they try mostly but always justify hate in their heart towards (whoever) to be worthy of hate and non forgiveness. But that *ss backwards.

The truth is that the Lord was giving us good life advice for living in the natural. Doing us a favor. He was trying to stop us from hurting ourselves. Because when you harbor bad feelings and bitterness within your heart for another being...then it acts as a poison upon your person and system. The seed of bitterness is the seed of death in the long run.

Somehow the mental image I got from your post was come near to them and light their candle from yours sort of, sounds cartoonish for some reason.

You can have the pope. 100%

A little leaven leavens the whole loaf in other words.

That is not what you are doing though. You are getting defensive because the Pope said gay peeps also love their families. Telling people the "Truth" doesn't means that we also can't acknowledge the humanity in others.

I don't like Mustard but understand others do.

Do you not understand that you can both believe that and acknowledge that gay peeps love their families?

Ok. I get what you are saying. My point was that I don't see how the Pope saying gay peeps love their families effects how much Christian people love their families.

The Pope acknowledging that gay peeps love their families is just him say he gets that. It's not an endorsement, just a nod that they do what they do. Its not antagonistic. It's a gesture of kindness that doesn't effect the "Godlyness" of the Pope.

Or as I said to jlb, I don't like mustard but I understand others do.

Saying "I'm okay you're okay" is not a Christian teaching.
