Owl City is my favorite singer but I can't decide which of his songs to post, so I will post his first big hit, a song from his newest album, and his song from Wreck It Ralph.

He actually has a whole band to play with him on tour and for his albums, though he started out solo. I know his voice is not the best live, but the reality is it is so for most singers now. I think most of his talent is in writing the songs and in the music, though I do think he has an awesome voice even if he could do with a couple lessons.

Rachel: Owl City stuff is kind of melodious. But I'm not sure his voice would do well with some of the more hard rock types of song. I don't think he is vigorous enough to be able to get into performing Christian Hardcore /Screamo stuff.

I'm happy that he couldn't do screamo stuff, I can't stand it! If he was able to and did start doing screamo stuff I would be really sad.

I have listened to a little but not a ton because I can't stand it. Whenever I do listen to it I wonder what about it people enjoy. It just gives me a headache.

Rachel: Well, fine. Like for example, Red's Forever has some powerful Christian lyrics, expressed strongly in hard rock, but if you don't like it, fine.

Owl City is kind of more low key, I reckon.

I never suspected that I'd even like hard rock until I discovered Skillet. But it's not for everybody--no music style is, I guess.

I used to hate rap, especially the kind that gets played on radio stations. Still don't care for it, but there are a few exceptions.

(Did you kind of wonder if Rachel discovered Skillet's brand of Christian hard rock she might find it was a different sort of new appreciation that she would want more of, or something?)
