Post some good music ( Youtube ) here !

i couldn't find a thread with this specific purpose, so here goes !
post us your favorite music (video)
On another Christian form, I am known as the "site DJ" although I post virtually no music here. I'm more of a 70's man (I guess that shows my age) but there's still a little fire in me yet, and I'm a romantic, and others on the other site know me as such. :yes:toofunny

But here it goes.... OK ladies. Imagine a nice tropical drink, a boat cruise, and this romantic music I want you to hear:

Of course I'll go one step further and add one more song (that I thought I'd never hear again in my life but found it) from good ol' "music mike". It was one of my favorites better than "Precious and Few" IMO. Y'all are "life and breath" to me (skip to :50 to start the song):

Cheers.

Very nice and cultured music, Abide. Very classy. Sometimes on that other forum I post similar such as what I jokingly call my "sundial song" :lol

I found out about Kathleen Battle just a few months ago. I love classical music. I also enjoy other music too. Air Supply, Some Country Music Charlie Pride.

When I am on CF I listen to classcial music. The background music is wonderful. There is site called Classical only channel.. You can check it out. During the day I would listen to the other music but at nights I prefer something more soothing and relaxing.

Kathleen Battle; so, is she good?

Trouble with some of the classical only stations is that they seem to have so many commercial breaks ... :)

Been listening to this one a lot during the past several days. Once I found an English version of the song, knew what the lyrics say and all, I really liked it. (I tend to like slightly depressing songs. =P)

One of my all-time favorites. I love the lyrics. (Although at one point I had listened to this song so much that I got sick of it for a while.)

Hi questdriven:

Interesting to hear the song by Disciple, the Christian heavy metal band. Re the 'scars' and 'lacerations' which the son talks about, I think there is a very real sense in which the Lord Jesus's sin atoning sufferings and death at the Cross were unique. But He is the Great High Priest Who is able to identify perfectly with us, sin apart, 'touched with the feeling of our infirmities' and so we may come boldly to the Throne of Grace.

Re. the song, I guess you really like the singer's throaty roar, do you?

Blessings.

PS: I guess I'm also an old fashioned hymn person; plenty of those on Youtube, too! :)

That's not a roar, this is a roar.

Kyle,

Welcome to CFnet. First off, The Rise of Sodom and Gomorrah has a great sound to it. There's something powerful about violins set to rock. I've never heard that before. I was just commenting to someone how it sounds like Darth Maul's Theme.

That said, clearly this band is at least a little fixed on satan. Whether they are as much as people think they are, they're getting noted for it. I was tempted to re-delete that post because the lyrics are disturbing, but I don't think anyone could make them out anyway. They're pretty drowned out in the background.

You seem a little fixated on Satan too in your first few posts to CFnet. I hope you have more range than that. Here is some friendly advice: truly know the ToS, so you'll know the difference between simple talk and promoting your thing which would violate it.

You also seem completely mystified and almost upset that Christians don't listen to your genre of music. Did it occur to you that most people over the age of 20 have moved on to more ore moderate stuff? I remember vividly whe I was in 6th grade vowing that I would always be a rocker, and AC/DC & Iron Maiden would be on my TURN TABLE for the rest of my life. Kids have a funny perspective... They have their own up until the day that is at the time. You don't know how your tastes will change in 10 years, and neither do I. Some people keep listening to it, but they are satisfied know they are on the fringe of society. But some Christians listen to it. I've heard there's a whole sub-genre of Christian Death Metal. You name a genre of music you don't like: country, opera, pop... Is there any other reason you don't listen to whatever you don't like other than the fact that you just can't tolerates hearing it? That's how most adults and even more so Christian adults I know don't listen to Therion.

I don't know if the darkness was there before you started to listen to them or if the music made you more interested. It's just one man's opinion that neither of those are a good scenario.

I don't mean to offend. I'm just giving my opinion. I do worry about people who are immersed in that culture.

I'm a complex guy. I love Electronica, modern rap, or classical. I can't even figure myself out. I'm comfortable with my 20-something sons' music when they throw a big party I mingle in with the young people quite well.

That being said, here's a song I woke up to one day while napping (like us old guys do :toofunny) with new age music on the TV that I thought was phenomenal. It's from Constance Demby, a New Age writer. But for a New age Lady, I found she writes songs with a lot of Christian themes to them.

This song is called "The Dawning". I love the stain glass window of Christ at about 1:17 into the song. At about 7:00 onwards, the song gets very intense and heavenly sounding, and if you watch long enough there's more Christian themes and crosses. This person captured the theme of the song very well imo. With all that said, here is the song:
