Here is the latest on Jasmine.
Hello Friends and Prayer Partners,
Just want to thank each of you for your continued prayers for Jasmine, John, Nicole, each of the grandparents and for the doctors who are treating her and for the nurses who are caring for her. As each of you know the open heart surgery that Jasmine had on Friday, March 28 went very well. The Doctor was happy with everything. As you know they had to switch her main two arteries in her heart. Guess that is called a Arterial Switch Operation. Since surgery she had been hooked up to feeding tube, breathing tube, plus all the other lines that she needed. Plus her chest was left open so any fluids could come out. Yesterday, Tuesday, March 31 they closed her chest. Today, Wednesday, April 1st they took out her breathing tube. John said that tomorrow they would take out the other lines she is hooked up to. He said that she was doing good. In deed prayers have been answered and continue to be answered. God's hand is on her and His will is being done. The Lord has been working in John's and Nicole's life. John and I have had a number of talks about how everything happens for a reason and he knew that God was guiding the surgeon hands. He knows how God is answering prayer. So we can be thankful even through this difficult time God is working.
I am sure that each day the Lord will continue to answer prayer. Hopefully in a couple of weeks if things continue as they have Jasmine can go home with her mommy and daddy. They love her. They are very loving and caring parents. I can't wait to go to Florida when they want me so I can see my new granddaughter, so I can hold her, so I can kiss her and tell her how much I love her. The doctor said that she will have to go see a doctor weekly for awhile, then it will be bi-monthly after that and then it will be monthly. Then when she a little older she will have to go see the doctor bi-yearly and then it will be yearly. They want to do that as they want to keep a eye on her and make sure nothing unexpected happens. I am sure when Nicole was carrying Jasmine she never expected to have all this happened. I am not sure if John and Nicole had told Nicole doctor that his parents first child was a girl who was born with a Congenital Heart Defect. Back then in 1976 the doctors didn't know what was wrong only that Deborah Ann had a heart defect and they couldn't do anything about it. But 39 years later things have changed. Praise the Lord for how things have changed.
Once again thank you all for your prayers and continued prayers. Remember this coming Sunday is Resurrection Sunday (Easter). Let's remember what happened on Good Friday and then three days later Jesus rose from the grave. Because of that we have the hope of eternal life if we have put our faith in Jesus Christ.
Have a great week.
Sincerely,
Larry Yeaton
