Pray without season.
I had a conversation with my elder sister about 'praying without ceasing'. I told her it seems we are doubting God when we pray continually - on a specific problem. I told her, 'Once you tell God something in prayers He hears you and would respond at the right time - and there is no need repeating what you have said before...or reminding Him of it...'
She told me 'it is wrong not to constantly pray to God concerning that problem'.
I see it as a lack of faith (this is my opinion). Take for instance, I ask my dad to buy me a Nokia E7...and he says, 'I would', Then, if I keep telling him:
'I need a phone', and afterwards:
'Will you buy it truly?' and later:
'I just need to make calls - and I need a phone' and after about 3 hrs:
'I like Nokia E7, dad' etc
He might feel embarrassed and could think I am doubting his capabilities. He could see it as a lack of faith or trust in him.
But my sister instructed/reminded me that we are instructed topray without ceasing 1Thess5:17.
She also directed me to the verse that says: 'God loves/blesses those who reminds Him of His promises (not that He has forgotten). I don't remember the exact verse...Psalm 119 ( Phil 4:6 is closer to it)
So [at times] I see it as a lack of faith. I do not mean it is completely wrong to repeat a prayer topic unto God.
But how do you look at this: I pray to God, I give a prayer request to my pastor, I give it to my boss, I give it to CF.net the following day, I turn to my friend's pastor on Monday, I write Mike in a PM, I phone up Handy at the dead of the night, I visit Reba late in the night and disturb her family, I travel to Gaza to meet a prayer warrior....? God isn't deaf!
I don't know how to reconcile the two verses my sister quoted with my intention:dunno
