While I'm against the
Gospel of Prosperity or the
Word of Faith movement, I believe that in the peak of fellowship and sanctification and being led by God you will experience his blessings to the max. It takes true obedience. It's not a salvation issue. And it has nothing to do with tithing more than 10 percent, nor does it take verbal proclamations like the New Agers do with mantras, and that thing called
the Secret surreptitiously preached by Joel Olsteen.
The Proverbs say "He that covereth his sins shall not prosper: but whoso confesseth and forsaketh
them shall have mercy.".
It's about being honest and close to God.
It's like the pharisee and the tax collector. The tax collector was faithful, and went away justified.
If you being evil know how to give good things to your children, how much more will the father give to them that ask
- Yeshua
The father loves us despite our filth. And he wants to fluff us clean, and see us prosper,
for his name sake. And All the glory goes to him.
We must ask him to guide us and keep us in his word, and keep his word in us. He doesn't want to see us even stub our toe. I try to push things off my mind thinking "that's narcissistic, not Gospel". But the Gospel
is good news. We were fearfully and wonderfully made by Christ and
for Christ, and are sustained
by Christ (Psalm 139:14, Colossians 1:16-17).
And it's through humility. He is our refuge. Without him, we'd be dead and homeless.
Soli Deo Gloria.
