questionable tap water

There is no trees with food and no streams for water. There are trees everywhere but no food on them. Look around, where is all the food and water. There should be millions of trees with food.

Where do you live, Siberia!!! Around here you can not see the forest for the million of trees in it.

what's tap water in your area like? ours is, apparently, getting -much- better. for a while there, it was horrible. i mean...while mama was still at her job, a lady there said the tap water killed the fish in her kids' aquarium. true story. and now..

they're doing something to make it less horrible smelling, more palatable. dad said we may even be able to start using it to make coffee and boil pasta, which was a -definite- no no for a while there...the stuff smelled toxic and tasted terrible, too.

anyway...I'm thankful that things are getting better 'round here....how's the tap water where you are?

Sorry to hear about those poor fish. The children must have been devastated. It could have been due to fluoride being added to the tap water in her area. That's what happened in my home state county by county. Horrible tasting stuff.
I don't drink tap water here. I use it for cooking only because it is boiled in my recipes. I drink mineral water mostly. Or, glass bottled spring water.

I have friends that have Artesian wells on their property. Wonderful tasting water due to very deep wells.

Poor fish. :sad I feel really sorry for those kids too. Anyway, I guess the tap water here is alright, but if I want to drink water (which I am a huge water drinker) I prefer drinking icy cold water straight out of the fridge. Especially on a hot summer day. :yes

Stay off the tap water, I believe the Government agencies are covering up the truth, A vast majority of USA water tables in the cities are contaminated, and the coverups continue.

Drink and use bottled water, don't trust the Government!

City water that has been treated with chlorine is toxic to fish. That could be what killed them.

Here in central Minnesota we live on a rural property and have our own well. We tapped into two water veins, one at about 86' and the other at about 95'. Despite the fact that we live in a farming area, our water is quite clean with very low amounts of phosphates and other contaminants. It is safe to drink. Our water is also nearly absent of iron but it is quite hard so I installed a water softener to handle it.

One thing that we can run into is suspended hydrogen sulfide gas. The telltale sign of this is a rotten egg smell similar to that from a swamp or sewer. The way we deal with it here is to allow the gas to evaporate out of the water as it enters our home. I did this by adding a bladder-less pressure tank to allow the water to be exposed to air inside the tank thus allowing the gas to evaporate out of the water. About two to three times a year, I open a valve on the top of the tank and let the water pump force all air out and then shut the water supply valve and drain the tank allowing fresh air to be drawn back in to recharge the system.

I guess I won't share with you where the water comes from that is bottled then.

Best water ever was from the 110 foot well on our farm in rural southern Michigan back in the 60s-70's-80's.

I just moved to Fort Worth (Hurst) Texas, the tap water does not seem bad at all, but I know little about it at this point.
Have not done my homework on it yet.

I drink Alpine Spring Water, Bottled At The Source.

I'm well aware of reverse osmosis, still better than many ground water sources.

Unwanted Minerals and heavy metals are removed, taste is enhanced.

What source? Any city nearby will be using the same source (aquafir). Unless it is treated in some way then the bottled water is the same without the added chemicals to render it harmless (chlorine for example).

I know much of the bottled water is literally drawn from the ground and bottled without any other treatments aside from filtering which may remove particulates and enhance flavor. We sell the equipment that does the packaging and I've been in many water bottling facilities.

Alpine? You mean water from Alpine Texas?
What is so special about their water?

Or do you mean from "over there":
Alpine refers to the Alps, a European mountain range, or to the Alpine states associated with the mountain range.

Because "Alpine Spring Water" doesnt come from the Alps, they admit is it water from domestic sources.

Doesn't sound all that special to me:

Everyone in the world should have clean drinking water. There is no excuses.

Yes they should, and in a perfect world they would. Unfortunately for us it's not a perfect world though, not by a long shot. It's truly amazing how many things in our lives that we take for granted.

Tap water is better than most bottled water. The filters in a pitcher are amazingly good.

Our city water here in SC is so full of chlorine I can smell it whenever my wife runs water in the sink .. No way I drink that water unfiltered .

Here in West Texas we either have to install a Reverse Osmosis system, or just get bottled water. Not generally advisable to drink it straight from the tap.
R and 0,the brine kills plants, fish.the water from that also if you dont the filter can be worse then regular water
Also bacteria grows in the heads of the water filter ,and mold.
