Reconciled while enemies by the death of His Son!

In 2 cor 5:20 Be Ye reconciled unto God !

In 2 cor 5 20 the be ye reconciled to God is a imperative to those who were being reconciled experientially, and to those who did not have their sins imputed to them

20Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ's stead, be ye reconciled to God.

19To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.

So, those being reconciled are those who have no sin charged against them !

Hence, only those whose sins have been remitted, not laid to their charge, have the right to be experientially reconciled to God, also they have already been legally reconciled to God vs

18And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ

This was while we [ the elect] were yet enemies by nature rom 5:

10For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son,

The be ye reconciled to God, was not just wishful thinking on the apostles behalf, but God was actually using them in a authoritative manner to be instrumental in turning them to God.

Thats why Paul said He hath give us the ministry of reconciliation ! vs 18

And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation;

And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation;

God was using Paul and other God called evangelist to be used to experientially turn to God those who had

#1 Their sins not imputed to them vs 19 and secondly, those who God made Christ to be sin for them, meaning a sin offering !

That means by reason of His offering alone, He has taken away or put away our sins [legally and Judicially] before God Heb 9:

26For then must he often have suffered since the foundation of the world: but now once in the end of the world hath he appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of himself.

Notice, to put away sin, the greek word for this is:

athetēsis:

abolition, disannulling, put away, rejection

The Ideal is that by the offering of Himself for His people the results of their sins are:

to do away with, to set aside, disregard

to thwart the efficacy of anything, nullify, make void, frustrate

Their sins have been legally and before God's Justice, canceled once and for all, made void.

He was once and for all offered to bear the sins [not of every individual that ever lived] but for many per Heb 9:28a

28So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many;

In the greek, the word many is preceded by the article, to denote a specific group designated the many.

Now, He had been made a sin offering [offering Himself] for the Many, when He Himself knew no sin, that is, He personally had never been guilty of sinning, in order that, for the purpose of, those who He had bore their sins, may be made the righteousness of God in Him, meaning, having been declared righteous by Gods Justice, now they will be made experientially righteous by an impartation of righteousness, through a new birth, and then be declared righteous in their own consciousness because of imputed righteousness [ROM 4:6] also this is made plain in ROM 5:

19For as by one man's disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous.

[experientially] Just as they had been made sinners experientially by the one[adam] disobedience !

These are the ones that Paul applies the imperative " be ye reconciled to God" and no others.

rom 5:

10 For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life.

All those who when they were yet enemies to God by nature, they were nevertheless reconciled to God BY the death of His Son, now being reconciled, its 100 % guarenteed they shall be saved by His [Jesus Christ God's Son] Life..

So how is it possible for any that Christ died for, not be saved by His Life ? To say that is to flat out contradict the Truth of scripture..

So how is it possible for any that Christ died for, not be saved by His Life ? To say that is to flat out contradict the Truth of scripture..

When one rejects God's way, which is by Jesus Christ, through faith in Him, according to the Grace of God, then one walks away from life. That is the truth from Scripture.

The very first verse I committed to memory at age nine:

Romans 6:23 NASB
For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Those who Christ reconciled to God by His own death, He did it even while they in themselves were God's enemies by nature.

Rom 5:

10For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life.

They did not need faith or repentance , they just needed to Have Christ die for them..

Now the word reconciled here is the greek word Katallasso and means:

  1. to change, exchange, as coins for others of equivalent value
  2. to reconcile (those who are at variance)
  3. return to favour with, be reconciled to one
  4. to receive one into favour
So while they were yet enemies by nature, in unbelief, By Christ death for them, they were received into God's Favor..

Why would it be necessary to bring the elect to God if they were already the elect?
Dear RND, It is best NOT to quote Ellen G. White, For she is a prove false prophetess and a founder of the Seventh-day Adventist cult. See Hank Hanegraaff, ed. The Kingdom of the Cults. See also Ravi Zacharias, ed. The Kingdom of the Cults. Both books originally by Walter R. Martin. Published by Bethany House Publishers, Minneapolis, MN. Some will question my words, but it really is cultish to say you can't be saved by Christ without attending worship services on the Sabbath, the Jewish Sabbath, on Saturday. That is legalism and Judaism. In Erie PA Scott R. Harrington

Reconciled to God by the Death of His Son ! Thats what the scripture says. Rom 5:10

10For if, when we [The Elect] were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life.

Now the Elect, those that Christ died for [Rom 8:33-34] over 2000 yrs ago , though they are born into this world as any other sinner, by nature children of wrath[Eph 2:3], at enmity with God subjectively, and in unbelief, are nevertheless born already reconciled to God [ Legally and objectively], and therefore free form all legal condemnation of God's Law, In that Christ already having satisfied [propitiated] it's Just claims against them by His blood Rom 5:

9Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him.

Yes, objectively, before the elect believe or before they are born, they are legally and objectively Justified [reconciled] and made certain of all future subjective salvations.

By the blood of Christ, those Christ died for have been redeemed from the curse of the Law, and have no legal obligation to it as to its penalty for violation, because the redemption is Eternal Heb 9:12;Eph 1:7.

The only way one can be reconciled to God, and received into His Favor as reconciliation denotes, for the word is the greek word is katallassō:

return to favour with, be reconciled to one

c) to receive one into favour

Now for this to have had occurred, God's wrath for their sins must be satisfied, appeased, and they must be freed from the penalty of sin and God's violated law, and must be forgiven of their sins, otherwise one cannot be legally reconciled before God. But this is the case, solely based upon Christ Death for them.

You say.. 'But this is the case, solely based upon Christ Death for them.'[/QUOTE]

Surely True as in Eternally 'CONDITIONAL upon Act. 5:32'!!
+ Heb. 13:20!!
If that is what you are saying???

I have been around a good long while, and your long posts have as many twist's & turn's as does the ones of 2 Peter 3:16 who thought Paul was confusing??!

eli:

You say.. 'But this is the case, solely based upon Christ Death for them

Yes, His Death ! You dont believe that ? Rom 5:10a

10For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son !

rom 5:

10 For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life.

2 cor 5:

18And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation;

eph 2:

16And that he might reconcile both unto God in one body by the cross, having slain the enmity thereby:

col 1:

20And, having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things unto himself; by him, I say, whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven.

Notice how the scriptures uniformly declares that some have been reconciled unto God, and not God reconciled unto them ! That is because there was no enmity in the mind of God towards the elect[ but love], but the enmity was in our hearts towards Him..

All the enmity was in us who by nature hated God, while He loved us with a everlasting love..col 1:

21And you [the elect], that were sometime alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now hath he reconciled

All of us who have been positionally reconciled to God, will sooner or later in their lifetime have it made manifested by their turning [ or being turned] to God, or their conversion unto Him..That is the reconciliation of the death of Christ is the cause that effects our Faith and Repentance unto God..

Those who we see in scripture turning to God, or repenting i.e acts 2, do so because they had been reconciled unto God by the death of Jesus Christ, His death therefore brings them to God:

1 pet 3:

18For Christ also hath once suffered for sins [by His death], the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit:

This tells us that the reconciliation on the cross ensures the practical turning unto God from our idols and vain religion's to serve the True and living God through Jesus Christ.

Acts 3:

26Unto you first God, having raised up his Son Jesus, sent him to bless you, in turning away every one of you from his iniquities.

1 Thess 1:9

For they themselves shew of us what manner of entering in we had unto you, and how ye turned to God from idols to serve the living and true God;

heb 9:

14How much more shall the blood of Christ [or His death], who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?

So contrary to the False teaching of the Antichrist followers, the reconciliation upon the death of Christ, ensures and effects a practical coming unto God through Jesus Christ, a coming to the True and Living God..

He never needed to be reconciled unto us, for He Loved us, but we needed to be reconciled unto Him, because we hated Him, and He accomplished this through the death of His Son..

This was a post that I did on another site, it makes me think of your teaching. Although we see nothing other than this being taught. What you ones teach seems to have them ALL SAVED regardless if they 'ONLY' BELIEVE???
So you are saying that just BELIEF has these all reconciled to Christ as well, from eternity??
_______

A few false teaching ones are in great danger of going to hell. Is LOVE for them to just remain silent?? Hardly! And one is the amen corner of the other. (kind of like MC here with your one?)

OK: Let's just say that EE has it correct, (which is GARBAGE!) and that the lost of earth ones (and from heavens rebellion + satan!) will end up in a hell that is not hot enough to do the Obad. 1:16 + Mal. 4:1-4 complete job.

And that it is designed by 'g'od only to get these ones who have not subjected their MATURE Evil will to Christ to feel the heat long enough that they will say YES, YES, and then do so, yet with NO GODY SORROW FOR WHAT THEIR EVIL DEEDS HAD DONE.. CRUCIFIED CHRIST Heb. 6:6 & HAS A HUGE BUNCH OF OTHERS IN HELL ALSO, and many because of their 'garbageed testimony'!

And folks: Heb. 12 has most all of us going through satan's hell here on earth already, huh? And that is for our MATURITY, while ALL of these others in Hell HAVE ALREADY MATURED in the Sin Against the Holy Ghost.

And the DIFFERENCE is that us'ins ARE [MOSTLY] (not even all of these Partakers for long! Hosea 4:6) MATURING IN GODLY SORROW THAT HAS ALREADY FOUND REPENTANCE!

--Elijah

We do believe and preach that every Justified and or Reconciled sinner before God, and that solely premised upon His Death and or Blood as Per Rom 5:9-10, that sometime in their sinful physical lifetime that they shall receive a actual Spiritual Application of Justification and their Imputed Righteousness whereby they will receive a knowledge of it by Faith !

More on reconciliation !

One who has been legally reconciled to God by the Blood of Christ or to say by His Death Rom 5:10, even while being enemies and unbelievers, this reconciliation is also their Justification before God, simply because reconciliation legally denotes the non imputation of their sins unto them 2 Cor 5:19

19 To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.

So , legal reconciliation and non imputation of sin go hand and hand, and that can be the case only if God does not reckon them to be lawbreakers, because of the Blood of Christ shed for them alone, for Christ's sake alone, God hath accepted their persons as Righteous, not for anything in them by Nature, nor wrought in them by New Birth or the Spirit, but while they are being enemies by nature, and not for anything done by them , but for Christ's Sake alone ! It is not because of any Gospel Obedience such as repenting and believing, but because also of imputing the Righteousness and Obedience of Christ unto them, and this also while they themselves are being enemies by nature as well as being ignorant of their own Justification, and Reconciliation to God, solely by the Death of Christ !

Preaching Reconciliation ! cont

Something to know about legal and objective reconciliation of the Elect, and that is this, that all the Elect while being enemies to Christ and God, are nevertheless legally still reconciled, received into God's Favor up until they are born again by the Spirit, or saved by Christ's Life Rom 5:10b. This means, but I do not teach it from scripture, but it does mean if an elect person were to die before new birth, that they would still be saved from the penalty of their sins, by the blood of Christ, that they would die objectively and legally reconciled into God's Favor by Christ's Death alone ! All of the sin and enmity the Elect by Nature have against God,while they are yet unconverted , and alienated from the life of God, and yes unbelievers, all that has been satisfied for by the blood of Christ ! In fact legal and objective reconciliation by Christ's Death Alone is that Propitiation John writes of in 1 Jn 2:2 !

2 And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.

Propitiation:

akin to hileos ("merciful, propitious"), signifies "an expiation, a means whereby sin is covered and remitted."

The whole world of 1 Jn 2:2 is a world that has all of its sins remitted or covered. Like David said about the blessed Man Ps 32:1

Blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven or remitted, whose sin is covered.

Thats the blessing of Legal Reconciliation/ Propitiation !

"Therefore hear the parable of the sower: 19 When anyone hears the word of the kingdom, and does not understand it, then the wicked one comes and snatches away what was sown in his heart. This is he who received seed by the wayside. 20 But he who received the seed on stony places, this is he who hears the word and immediately receives it with joy; 21 yet he has no root in himself, but endures only for a while. For when tribulation or persecution arises because of the word, immediately he stumbles. 22 Now he who received seed among the thorns is he who hears the word, and the cares of this world and the deceitfulness of riches choke the word, and he becomes unfruitful. 23 But he who received seed on the good ground is he who hears the word and understands it, who indeed bears fruit and produces: some a hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty." Matthew 13:18-23

Without the message of the gospel being preached and believed, there will be no salvation!

10 For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. 11 For the Scripture says, "Whoever believes on Him will not be put to shame." 12 For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek, for the same Lord over all is rich to all who call upon Him. 13 For "whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved." 14 How then shall they call on Him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in Him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher? 15 And how shall they preach unless they are sent? As it is written: "How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the gospel of peace, Who bring glad tidings of good things!" 16 But they have not all obeyed the gospel. For Isaiah says, "Lord, who has believed our report?" 17 So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
Romans 10:10-17

You make a mockery of everyone from the Apostles to all those precious ones whose names are written in heaven, who sacrificed their lives and their families to obey the call to preach the Gospel to the lost, wherever that took them.

You have clearly presented "another Gospel"!

The words of Paul are clear -

8 But even if we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel to you than what we have preached to you, let him be accursed. 9 As we have said before, so now I say again, if anyone preaches any other gospel to you than what you have received, let him be accursed. Galatians 1:8-9

I tell you, no; but unless you repent you will all likewise perish. Luke 13:3

Reconciliation = Justification !

Many who are ignorant of the blessed effects of the death of Christ, by not realizing, and rejecting the Truth that reconciliation to God by the Death of His Son Rom 5:10 is the same exact thing "as now being Justified by His Blood" Rom 5:9 !

Reconcile the reconciled ! 2

Now who does this apply to [Reconciliation of the reconciled], for it only applies to believers, for only believers were reconciled to God by Christ's Death while being unbelievers. They were reconciled to God apart from any previous conditions performed in them or by them, it being solely perform by Christ's One Act of Obedience upon the Cross [Phil 2:8], meaning His Death/ Blood.

This is a false statement that is a doctrine of man. You added your words into this scripture to twist and pervert the true Gospel into another Gospel.

1) What is the false statement that is a doctrine of man you are referring to?

2) Be specific. Show which words I have I added to Scripture to support your accusation that I have perverted the Gospel as it is presented in the Word of God?

The world that God so loved and that Christ gave His life for is the world of HIS CHURCH:
The world is not the Church.

The world is the world and the Church is the Church.

People in the world become a part of The Church through faith in Jesus Christ, by God's grace.

Until a person hears the Gospel Message and believes, they are still in the world.

The World -

You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world. 1 John 4:4

They are of the world. Therefore they speak as of the world, and the world hears them. 1 John 4:5

For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world--our faith. 1 John 5:4

We know that we are of God, and the whole world lies under the sway of the wicked one. 1 John 5:19

God loves the people of the world and wants them to be reconciled to Him.

The Church -

The Church are those who are redeemed by the blood of the Lamb.

22 But you have come to Mount Zion and to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, to an innumerable company of angels, 23 to the general assembly and church of the firstborn who are registered in heaven, to God the Judge of all, to the spirits of just men made perfect, 24 to Jesus the Mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling that speaks better things than that of Abel. Hebrews 12:22-24

The World is not the Church.

The World is not His people.

A person that is in the world becomes His Sheep, His people, when the obey the Gospel Message and are born again.

You are merging two separate groups of people into one lump.

16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. 17 For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.

...but that the world through Him might be saved.

The world is not saved.

The Church is purchased by the blood of the Lamb.

The price for all the world has been paid, however a person must accept the gift of God on His terms in order to be redeemed by the price that was paid for them.

They must obey the Gospel.

For the time has come for judgment to begin at the house of God; and if it begins with us first, what will be the end of those who do not obey the gospel of God? 1 Peter 4:17

The world is not the Church.

What scripture says its not ?

The word world kosmos is defined :

an apt and harmonious arrangement or constitution, order, government

ornament, decoration, adornment, i.e. the arrangement of the stars, 'the heavenly hosts', as the ornament of the heavens. 1 Pet. 3:3

the world, the universe

the circle of the earth, the earth

the inhabitants of the earth, men, the human family

the ungodly multitude; the whole mass of men alienated from God, and therefore hostile to the cause of Christ

world affairs, the aggregate of things earthly

the whole circle of earthly goods, endowments riches, advantages, pleasures, etc, which although hollow and frail and fleeting, stir desire, seduce from God and are obstacles to the cause of Christ

any aggregate or general collection of particulars of any sort

the Gentiles as contrasted to the Jews (Rom. 11:12 etc)

The Church is an aggregate or general collection of particulars.

The Sheep also is an aggregate or general collection of particulars of any sort.

And the Sheep are the Church !
